    MUMBAI: Leo Burnett has elevated Samir Gangahar as president of North India. In his new role, Gangahar will be responsible to lead the agency’s operations in North India. 

    Apart from content, digital and experiential, Gangahar’s new focus will be to grow other specialisations including shopper, retail and e-commerce.

    Leo Burnett Group India CEO Saurabh Verma said, “Under Samir, Leo Burnett, Delhi has transformed into a fully integrated operation. He has been instrumental in creating a culture of collaboration within the agency where a group of specialists work together to solve a client problem. Samir has helped strengthen Leo Burnett Delhi’s digital operation and I’m delighted to state that it has now become a technology/digital hub for many of our key clients. The activation business has grown tremendously in the last one year and going forward Samir’s role will be to build on that momentum. He will help us build new specialisations as part of his mandate.     He joined Leo Burnett as executive director in August 2007 after a 17-year stint with JWT, where he was vice president and director, client servicing.

    Leo Burnett ropes in Rachita Dutta as business head

    MUMBAI: Leo Burnett India has appointed Rachita Dutta as the business head of its Delhi office.

     

    In her new role, Dutta will work closely with Leo Burnett’s executive director Samir Gangahar to help grow the agency’s revenue by focusing on organic growth and winning new businesses.

     

    Gangahar said, “I am delighted to have Rachita on board. Her depth of knowledge and experience across categories and geographies would really add to the agency’s capabilities. Moreover, having had the experience of heading an agency, Rachita will add immense value to the leadership team in Delhi.”

    Dutta joined Leo Burnett from Grey Sri Lanka where she was country head since 2013. During her tenure there, she played a hands-on role of consolidating existing businesses and growing the agency’s revenue through new business wins. Prior to joining Grey Sri Lanka, Dutta led Rediffusion Y&R’s LG business out of its Delhi office and also had a two year stint as Lowe Delhi vice president.

     

    In her long spanning advertising career, Dutta has also had stints with Grey Delhi, Contract Advertising and Grey Kuala Lumpur.

    PayUMoney ropes in Leo Burnett & Mindshare; to roll out ATL campaign

    MUMBAI: PayUMoney, an online payment solution company, has appointed Leo Burnett to handle its creative duties, whereas Mindshare has been roped in to handle its media planning and buying mandate.

     

    The company is all set to launch its first multi-media advertising campaign to raise awareness about its consumer offering. The nationwide campaign will run across months and target online buyers.

     

    Leo Burnett will be looking at the entire creative process and will be the agency on record for the Gurgaon-based company. The agency won the account following a multi-agency pitch that went on for around three months.

    Antony Rajkumar is the new planning head for Leo Burnett Delhi

    MUMBAI: Leo Burnett Group India has announced the appointment of Antony Rajkumar as the planning head at Leo Burnett Delhi.

     

    With this new assignment,  Rajkumar will work closely with Rajeev Sharma, national brand planning head for the company to lead strategic planning and brand management and will be stationed at the agency’s Delhi office.

     

    Welcoming Rajkumar to the company, Sharma said, “Antony will be a key contributor towards taking our HumanKind philosophy forward. His track record of providing outstanding business solutions to brands, over a career of over 18 years, speaks for itself. I am looking forward to his rich and varied experience in consulting, research, integrated communications, content marketing and brand storytelling in providing strategic depth to our client’s businesses.”

    Prior to Leo Burnett, Rajkumar was working with J Walter Thompson (JWT) as VP and strategy planning director since 2011. During his tenure there, he was also a part of the WPP Blue Hive leadership team on the Ford Motor Company relationship for the region.

     

    Thrilled about his new engagement, Rajkumar said, “My conversation with Leo Burnett helped me see a very young agency keen and ready to lead the evolution that our industry is going through.     Rajkumar began his career in January 2004, in planning with Maa Communications Bozell.  He joined as branch manager and was soon promoted to vice president – strategy and planning. He then moved to Equitor Management Consulting as regional director before moving to JWT in 2011.
