Casting coup: Hrithik, Jacqueline ad film to release globally on 21 Nov

MUMBAI: Ever since their “Beat pe Booty” dance-off video, fans have been waiting for Hrithik Roshan & Jacqueline Fernandez to sizzle together on-screen again. And pulling off a casting coup, film director Sahil Sangha has brought the two actors together for their first ever ad film!

Shot over two days in Mumbai, Hrithik & Jacqueline underwent intense training and prep for the ad film’s action and dance sequences. The duo trained in hand to hand combat and took Tango lessons to get their legwork right.

On the day of the shoot, despite pulling a thigh muscle during an action sequence, the committed actor that he is, Hrithik continued to shoot till the wee hours of the morning. Meanwhile Jacqueline proved to be a natural when it came to choreographed action, pulling off one vertical split after another with ease.

Says Sahil Sangha, “When you have two of the most desirable actors in the country come together for an ad film, then the concept of the film has to be nothing short of dynamic. We didn’t want anything about this advertisement to be regular. Hrithik and Jacqueline understood that brief and were more than happy to go the extra mile to make their first on screen appearance together truly special. They are nothing short of gold in this campaign!”.

A global ad campaign has been planned for a leading designer and luxury tiles & decor brand. The teaser of the advertisement broke on 18 November, while the ad film releases on 21 November. A gala launch is being planned in Dubai which will be attended by Hrithik Roshan, Sahil Sangha and the entire team that pulled off the campaign. The advertisement has been produced by Sahil & his actor-filmmaker wife, Dia Mirza’s production company, Born Free Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

First a viral video, now a high-concept, stylised global ad film. Is this a precursor for a bigger announcement?

Dia Mirza makes her directorial debut with public service film #KidsForTigers

NEW DELHI: Actor and producer Dia Mirza has made her directorial debut by directing a Public Service film on the occasion of World Tiger Day 2016, taking her commitment to championing causes connected with nature to the next level.

Written by Cara Tejpal and Sahil Sangha, captured by ace photographer Rohan Shrestha and produced by Born Free Entertainment, the film aims to spread the vital message of Tiger and Nature Conservation through the innocent yet aware voices of children belonging to different age groups.

Dia said: “This has been one of the most beautiful experiences of my life! Involving our future generation in this initiative has been nothing short of enlightening and fulfilling for me. As tigers struggle for survival, I hope that the message sent out is strong enough to nudge our nation to guarantee the tiger protection from threats like poaching, and intrusion into their natural habitat. We need to remember, what happens to the tiger, to our forests and our rivers, ultimately affects each one of us”

Sanctuary Asia head & well-known conservationist Bittu Sahgal said: “Dia Mirza joined the Sanctuary family over three years ago when she spearheaded our ‘Leave Me Alone’ campaign. Since then she has evolved into a highly credible voice for conservation, tirelessly supporting issues that are crucial but lack visibility. By conceptualising and directing this PSA, Dia has crafted a poignant message from over one million Kids For Tigers to the elders who are in control of their lives: ‘We demand you leave us a better world. All we need to do is protect nature and nature will protect us!’”

The status of the animal still remains “endangered though countries such as India, Nepal, Russia and Bhutan have registered an increase spike in the Tiger population.

Vidya Balan gets ready to play a sleuth

MUMBAI: She is not considered the ‘Ms Perfectionist’ of Bollywood for no reason. There’s something about her that has added this tag to her name. We are talking about Vidya Balan, who after portraying a quirky Punjabi woman in Ghanchakkar and making headlines for her odd pairing with Farhan Akhtar in the upcoming Shaadi Ke Side Effects, is back in the news again – this time for getting in to the character of Bobby Jasoos.

On Monday morning, pictures of the actress disguised as a beggar came out in the news. According to reports, the actor was so much in to the character that during the shoot a woman even gave her some money. The actor who has always pushed the boundaries to get in to the character is doing the same again.

And the film’s producers know they have got an awesome performer on board. Dia Mirza, who is producing the movie along with Sahil Sangha, tweeted the picture from the shoot and wrote, “That’s our #BobbyJasoos in DISGUISE 😉 She’s one of a kind. #VidyaBalan”.

The film went on the floor on November 23, 2013 in the picturesque city of Hyderabad and will be shot in one schedule, over a span of 55 days, amongst a host of never seen before real locations that stand testament to the vibrant and royal cultural history of Hyderabad, as it aims to be a summer 2014 release.

Producers Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha have put together a strong supporting cast that surround Vidya Balan in a pulsating, thrilling and most importantly heartwarming tale of a woman whose solitary dream is to become the numero uno private eye of her community. The cast includes Ali Fazal, Arjan Bajwa, Anupriya, Supriya Pathak, Tanvi Azmi, Aakash Dahiya and Rajender Gupta amongst others. The film also marks the return of Kiran Kumar who has been away from the big screen for some time and the makers are more than excited to present him in a dynamic new avatar.

Shantanu Moitra and Swanand Kirkire are collaborating on the music of the film.

Dia said in a release, “The idea of Bobby Jasoos was born over a year and a half ago. Today, blessed with an ideal cast and fantastic crew we are ready to roll and nothing gives me more pleasure. The actors have been busy in workshops, readings, look tests and their enthusiasm and excitement is palpable. Vidya has ably led from the front and her dedication to preparing for this part is evidence to the fact that she is an actor who continues to respects the craft and is hungry for more despite achieving so much already. I can’t wait for Bobby to be unleashed.”
