    Saatchi & Saatchi launches TV campaign for Otrivin

    MUMBAI: Saatchi & Saatchi has launched a TV campaign for Otrivin, a nasal decongestant spray from Swiss healthcare major Novartis.

    The campaign is based on the objectives of significantly enhancing trials and creating brand preference amongst the target audience comprising males in the age group of 25-44 years. It demonstrates the product as a convenient solution which gives instant and long lasting relief from blocked nose.

    Otrivin is the flagship brand of healthcare major Novartis India competing in the OTC nasal decongestant category.

    Saatchi & Saatchi GM Mumbai Nisha Singhania said, “To develop the new TVC, the agency tapped into the consumer insight that when a person is suffering from blocked nose, he cannot speak clearly. This not only hampers his performance but also causes social embarrassment as he is ‘nasally misunderstood’.”

    Translating the insight into creativity, the agency created a 30 second TVC that opens to showcase a picnic situation which is easily relatable to every person.

    Saatchi & Saatchi CCO – India Ramanuj Shastry said, “Moving beyond the norms of ads made for a problem solution category, the film is set in the retro period with exaggerated expressions from lead protagonists to add humour to it.”

    Kamal Basu moves to Skoda India

    MUMBAI: Kamal Basu, who quit Saatchi & Saatchi India in November, will be joining automobile company Skoda India as marketing head from January next year.


    Sources in the company confirmed the development to Indiantelevision.com.


    Basu had called it a day at Saatchi & Saatchi India in as CEO after serving the agency for 11 years. He was replaced by Matt Seddon who has joined in from Ace Saachi & Saatchi Philippines.


    Prior to Saatchi & Saatchi, Basu had also worked with O&M as VP- client servicing for eight years.


    He was not reachable till the time of filing this report.

    Saatchi & Saatchi creates Otrivin Cold Tabs’ new campaign

    MUMBAI: Saatchi & Saatchi has created a new campaign for Novartis which is launching its new product, Otrivin Cold Tab in the market.

    The idea behind the new campaign was to establish the brand as the one step solution to provide complete relief from cold. It plays on the concept that there are actually seven symptoms of cold and Otrivin Cold tablet has a unique advantage of solving all the seven symptoms of cold.

    The creative agency said that the challenge was to break through a category which is already flooded with innumerable options which offer similar benefits making it difficult for the consumer to judge which one is better than the other.

    The agency had a task of providing a strong differentiating selling point to the brand along with optimum usage of the media with 10-seconder TVCs.

    Saatchi & Saatchi GM Nisha Singhania said, “The consumers for this brand belongs to SEC B and C who cannot afford to skip even a day‘s work, hence seek a quick relief option which cures them of all the problems faced during cold.”

    Saatchi & Saatchi CEO Basu quits, Seddon to take over

    MUMBAI: Saatchi & Saatchi CEO Kamal Basu has resigned.

    Basu, who served the company for 11 years, will be replaced by Matt Seddon who is currently vice chairman and CEO Ace Saachi & Saatchi Philippines.
     
    Confirming the news Basu said, “My journey with Saatchi & Saatchi has been outstanding. These 11 years were nothing short than excellent. Every person needs change and this is why I decided to quit”.
     
    Basu joined Saatchi & Saatchi in 2000 after he left O&M where he worked in client servicing as VP for eight years.

    MUMBAI:Saatchi & Saatchi India has appointed Hari Ganesh Desikan as senior planner at its Mumbai office. Desikan will be responsible for regional planning for Pampers as well as some other key brands.


    Talking about the appointment, Saatchi & Saatchi, Mumbai GM Nisha Singhania said, “With Hari joining the planning department in Saatchi Mumbai, we now have a truly fantastic team of planners with a diverse set of experiences and talent.”


    Desikan, an electronics and communications engineer, comes with a rich experience of over 10 years in marketing, brand management and advertising. Having started his career as a sales engineer for Siemens India, his passion for marketing & advertising drew him to Trigger Jeans. As a brand manager, he played a key role in scripting a revival of the brand‘s fortune.


    Stepping into the agency six years ago, Desikan has worked on multiple brands across categories. He has worked with some of the well-known names in the industry including Hakuhodo Percept, Ogilvy & Mather and TBWAIndia and serviced brands like CavinKare, Henkel, Panasonic and Odyssey among others. His last assignment was with a Chennai-based brand communications start-up – Gutfeel, as a co-founder and partner – strategy.

    The 20-second television commercial shows youngsters and children celebrating and the spot ends with a question, ‘can you afford to miss it?‘

    “Through the campaign, Skoda is extending an invitation to the customers to join in the celebrations,” the agency says..

    Rather than treating it like a tactical communication, the agency decided to build on Skoda‘s commitment to delighting customers and hence came up with this ad.

    Saatchi & Saatchi president Sanjib Dey quits

    MUMBAI: Saatchi & Saatchi president Sanjib Dey has as quit the organisation.

    Confirming the news to Indiantelevision.com., Dey denied giving any details of his future.

    Saatchi & Saatchi, on the other hand, is now in the process of finding a replacement for Dey, an official confirmed.

    Dey joined Saatchi & Saatchi, Delhi as executive vice-president in 2007 and then was elevated as its president in 2009. Based in the Delhi branch of the agency, his responsibilities included a pan-India role.

    Prior to that Dey was with the senior vice-president at Lowe Delhi.

    During his 11 years experience in the business, Dey has worked on various brands such as Tata Tea, Bharat Petroleum, Panasonic, Sony Handycam and Aviva Life Insurance. He has also worked with agencies like Capital, Bates 141 (Enterprise Nexus) and Grey India.
