Olx Autos, Rohit Shetty team up to launch ‘Shetty Ke Car-Naame’ campaign

Mumbai: Olx Autos has partnered with Bollywood director Rohit Shetty and actor Sharman Joshi for its first celebrity-led ad campaign.

The latest campaign titled ‘Shetty Ke Car-Naame’ is conceptualised by Lowe Lintas Delhi seeks to drive awareness about Olx Autos’ ‘Best Price’ proposition for consumers keen to sell their pre-owned cars and consider Olx Autos as the leading destination for the same.

The digital-first multi-film campaign showcases Rohit Shetty as a consumer keen to sell the cars from his films to Sharman Joshi, who poses as an Olx Autos employee evaluating the cars for sale. The campaign films are a humorous take on the common tropes found across Rohit Shetty’s films, where cars are often shown in a glamorised fashion performing gravity-defying stunts and often forming the centerpiece of the films.

To leverage this campaign further, Olx Autos will also undertake a digital campaign across various social media platforms to reach more consumers.

Talking about the association, Rohit Shetty said, “I am delighted to collaborate with Sharman Joshi to partner with Olx Autos for this campaign which brings together my passion for films and cars. As a director, a mainstay of my films have been car stunts which audiences love and admire.”

“As an automobile enthusiast, I have always had a passion for automobiles, but often found it challenging when it came to selling off my cars while upgrading to a newer car. I hope audiences will enjoy this collaboration and resonate with the values of a fellow car enthusiast,” he added.

Sharman Joshi said, ”It’s good to be back collaborating again with Rohit on this campaign for Olx Autos. We share a common passion for automobiles and with Olx Autos it was a breeze translating the same onscreen for the short films.”

Commenting on the partnership, Olx Autos CMO Siddharth Agrawal said, “Rohit Shetty and cars are synonymous in the Indian pop culture and there is no one better than him to bring this campaign to life. Sharman Joshi’s everyman portrayal across his movies fit the mold of what we were looking for in highlighting a pertinent consumer challenge when it comes to selling pre-owned cars. We are excited to bring to life our campaign with these industry stalwarts as we aim to position ourselves as the preferred brand for consumers looking to sell their cars in their car ownership journey throughout their various life stages.”

Speaking about the creative thought behind the campaign, Lowe Lintas regional creative officer Vasudha Misra said, “It was an exciting campaign to work on from the start. When the team first pitched the idea to me- To bring Rohit Shetty, someone known for his action stunts with cars to promote Olx Autos – I was immediately sold. And like Olx Autos’ great price this has also turned out to be a great surprise.”

The channel is going to take the daring challenge with the contestants through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok. Jaipuria informs, "We will get first the contestants to take the daring challenge and then we'll ask viewers to take the daring challenge. We've done some very peculiar content, which is specially made for viewers online, where we have actually shot two sides of the same contestant. So the contest for example Karishma Tanna – how she wants to face the fear but the other side is about being scared. A lot of social media engagement will be happening throughout show. We wish to trend as much as Bigg Boss worldwide," she added.

  • 2017 blockbuster hit ‘Golmaal Again’ will make its television premiere on star gold this friday

2017 blockbuster hit ‘Golmaal Again’ will make its television premiere on star gold this friday

MUMBAI: Star Gold is kicking off the year with the World Television Premiere of one of the most succesful films of 2017, Golmaal Again, that raked in over 200 crores at the box office and set it on fire with its unmatched gags and action. The film that left audiences in splits of laughter and many ‘rolling on the floor’ moments will make its television debut this Friday, 26th January at 12PM on the Home of Blockbusters.

Rohit Shetty’s fourth installment of the superhit franchise sees a unique mix of horror, melodrama and comedy making it one of the most entertaining and engaging films of recent times. The film also marks Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty’s 10th collaboration, making them an unbeaten duo of Bollywod.  The comic caper makes room for horror to the storyline by welcoming Tabu and Parineeti Chopra to the original cast that includes Arshad Warsi, Kunal Kemu, Shreyas Talpade and Tushar Kapoor.

This horror-comedy is a fun filled ride about two gangs who are unable to stand each other since their childhood, encounter with some spiritual bodies and find out the truth about the Jamnadas Orphanage where they were brought up.

Filled with unlimited dozes of entertainment and laughter, Golmaal Again is all heart and fun, a perfect plan for the upcoming long weekend!

  • Golmaal Again: Entertaining suspense thriller

    Golmaal Again: Entertaining suspense thriller

The most successful franchise in Hindi films, Golmaal, strikes again. And, aptly, the title is Golmaal Again. The main faces of the franchise — Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, ShreyasTalpade and Kunal Khemu are very much there so are the other regulars, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, Johny Lever, Murli Sharma and Vrajesh Hirjee.

However, what has changed is the film’s regular location, Goa, its sun, sea and sand. Golmaal Again is based in Ooty. That is because, the film needs something like British countryside with an old mansion as the backdrop.

The film deals with the supernatural, ghosts, deception and revenge. For a change, the climax here is not a farce as it usually is with this franchise.

The characters of Ajay, Arshad, Tusshar, Kunal and Shreyash are being tended in an orphanage in Ooty started by a millionaire, played by Uday Tikekar, who forsakes all his businesses to look after orphans. The five are divided into two groups: Ajay and Shreyas on one side while Arshad, Tusshar and Kunal are on the other. Both sides are always at loggerheads. One fine day, Ajay and Shreyas walk out of the orphanage after a scolding from Tikekar; Arshad, Tusshar and Kunal follow suit soon.

Both groups are now grown up and are into the same business: that of grabbing land and property for money on behalf of others. While Ajay does it for Sanjay Mishra, Arshad does it for Prakash Raj.

The five of them learn that the father figure of the orphanage, Tikekar, who cared for them has passed away, and they decide to visit the orphanage to take part in the rituals. But, the reason is more: both the groups are assigned to grab the land belonging to the orphanage along with the piece belonging to a blind ex-army man, played by Sachin Khedekar, Tikekar’s friend.

Tabu, a librarian in Ooty who looks after the affairs of the mansion, assigns rooms to the five to stay till the rituals are over. Tabu has a special gift in that she can see ghosts as well as communicate with them. At the mansion, the five also meet Parineeti Chopra who is introduced to them as the maid of the house.

After the usual gimmicks and the gags that the divided five go through like in other Golmaal instalments, it is time to lend some purpose to Golmaal Again. It turns out that Tikekar did not die by falling off the terrace. And that Parineeti is not really who she was introduced as. Only Tabu knew who she was.

It is time for the five to join forces along with Tabu and Parineeti to sort out things and bring culprits to book. The change of background in Golmaal Again takes a while for the viewer to get adjusted to. As this one moves from Goa to Ooty, and is a suspense thriller instead of being an all fun film. But, once into the film, it does not fail to entertain.

The best part, of course, is the dialogue and one-liners that keep the pace going. Shot on scenic, lush green background, the cinematography is soothing to the eye.

The usual Golmaal gang of Ajay, Arshad, Tushaar, Kunal and Shreyas have nothing new to do beyond what they have done earlier. The casting of Parineeti and Tabu brings a fresh look to the film.

The film has a proper villain in Prakash Raj this time and springs a surprise with Neil Nitin Mukesh joining the action in the latter half. The actors mimicking Nana Patekar followed by his sudden cameo make for pleasant viewing.

Lever, Mishra, Tiwari and Hirjee provide relief from time to time.

Golmaal Again is the right kind entertainer for the festive period. Keeps you happy while you are watching it. The opening day response has been encouraging, and the weekend is expected to help maintain the momentum.

    Producer, director: Rohit Shetty.

Cast: Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Parineeti Chopra, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Kunal Khemu, ShreyasTalpade, Sanjay Mishra, Johny Liver, Mukesh Tiwari, VrajeshHirjee,Murli Sharma, Prakash Raj, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Nana Patekar (cameo).
