    MUMBAI: The Digit Zero1 Awards 2024, hosted by Times Network, celebrated outstanding advancements in technology and innovation, recognizing 71 winners across three categories. the Digit Zero1 Award, Digit Best Buy Award, and Digit Popular Choice Award. With over two decades of expertise and leadership in consumer technology, the Digit Zero1 Awards 2024 is recognized as the Industry’s only performance-based awards, dedicated to recognizing and celebrating excellence in technology and innovation.  The event, held in the capital city, brought together industry leaders to honor excellence in consumer technology.

    Driving the essence of these awards was a rigorous and scientific testing process conducted at Digit’s in-house testing labs. Each device was meticulously evaluated through 100+ tests conducted across key performance parameters in each category.  Winners in each category were determined based on a comprehensive performance analysis of their total scores, ensuring only the very best products were honoured. In 2024 alone, Digit’s team of experts tested over 1,000 products, setting a benchmark for thoroughness and reliability in the evaluation process, rewarding the best in each category.

    • Beyond celebrating technological achievements, the awards served as a platform to spark meaningful conversations about the future of consumer technology. The event featured two thought-provoking panel discussions that brought together industry leaders and visionaries. The panels, titled ‘Predicting the Future of Consumer Tech in India – AI, 5G, AIoT, and More,’ and ‘Rise of India in Tech: Home-grown Brands and Their Success Story,’ delved into transformative trends shaping the tech landscape, integration of artificial intelligence, the expansion of 5G, evolution of AIoT, and the remarkable contributions of Indian brands in driving innovation and establishing India as a global technology powerhouse. 

      Delivering the special address, former union minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar said, “India, after many years of hibernation and being almost absent from the global electronics value chains and innovation discourse, has in the last four to five  years made a very significant presence. A decade ago, electronics manufacturing in India was dominated by domestic brands getting products designed outside and manufactured in China. In the last three to four  years, we are seeing not just global and Indian brands being manufactured here, but also being designed to be manufactured here. This transformation across the value chain—design, manufacturing, and testing—has been enabled by the Government of India’s pivot from an import substitution framework to an export-led electronics manufacturing and design framework. The three important trends to lookout for are, digitization, as products are becoming smarter, connected, and with AI, even smarter connected products. The second trend is India’s growing footprint in the global value chains post-COVID. The third trend is the emergence of highly intelligent digital products powered by AI and edge AI. Advancements in local AI and groundbreaking chip architectures from companies like Nvidia are driving a once-in-a-lifetime shift, replacing legacy architectures in automotive, industrial, and consumer tech with new, transformative platforms that redefine electronics innovation.”

    Mumbai: Times Network, India’s premium broadcast network, emerged as the fastest-growing digital news networks in the country, amassing over four billion monthly reach across channels during February 2023-24. This milestone solidifies its position as the go-to source for credible, accurate, and decisive news & analysis across English and Hindi general news and business news categories.

    Dominating the digital news video landscape, Times Now emerged as the most watched English news channel on YouTube, garnering over 8.1 crore views in February 2024 and clocking close to one billion reach every month. Reaffirming its position as a formidable force in the English news category, Times Now demonstrated exceptional growth, recording an impressive surge of 185% during February 2023-24. During pivotal National events like the Ram Mandir inauguration and Republic Day, the channel dominated YouTube with a staggering peak live concurrency of over 2 lakh viewers on Republic Day.     In a remarkable surge, Times Now Navbharat experienced an unprecedented growth of 235%, emerging as the fastest-growing Hindi news channel on YouTube between February 2023 and February 2024. Outshining its counterparts by threefold in year-on-year expansion, Times Now Navbharat has amassed 90 lakh subscribers on YouTube in just two and a half years since its inception, solidifying its position as a preferred choice of Hindi heartland. Boasting over 2.4 billion reach and garnering 30 crore monthly views, the channel has become the go-to destination for viewers. Notably, the channel witnessed a surge of 373% in LIVE views in FY24 compared to the previous fiscal year and a substantial increase in watch time by about 450% during FY24. (Source: Playboard data)

    In the English business news category, ET Now experienced an astonishing 853% y-o-y growth. Subsequently, ET Now Swadesh’s YouTube views surged by 245% year-on-year in the Hindi business news category. The two business channels together have a reach of around half a billion every month.     Network18 digital onboards Rohit Chadda as group chief strategy officer

    Mumbai: Network18 has announced the appointment of Rohit Chadda as group chief strategy officer for its digital arm. He was previously associated with Zee Group as the CEO-digital publishing for over four years.

    In his new role, Rohit will drive important business & strategic projects, growth, new initiatives around product, content, audience & video across the network, and new business/product development for the digital business, the channel said in a statement.

    He will work closely with the leadership team to sharpen the strategy and deployment for scaling the business & operations and will report to Network18 digital president & CEO Puneet Singhvi, it added.

    An award-winning entrepreneur, Rohit has extensive experience across technology, e-commerce, fintech, OTT, and media & entertainment. He also co-founded two start-ups – Foodpanda and PayLo.

    MUMBAI: For the first time, Zee Digital breached the 100-million unique monthly users mark in comScore India ranking in the month of September 2019. The latest comScore report placed Zee Digital ahead of many leading networks on the basis of unique users under the news and information category in India.

    Over the past five months, Zee Digital has witnessed a marked absolute growth of 55% in its total unique monthly users which is the second-highest in terms of performance among the top media groups in the country. The largest contributors to this growth have been India.com, Zee News Sites and Zee Business each of which have grown by 147%, 87% and 83% respectively during the same period.
