  • Radio Mirchi kicks off RJ hunt

    MUMBAI: Radio Mirchi 98.3 FM conducted the audition of its third radio jockey hunt, which was inaugurated by bollywood actress Isha Koppikar at Cross Roads, Haji Ali.

    The auditions will be held from 17 January uptill 23 January and the candidates interested can walk in anytime between 11 am to 8 pm informs a media release.

    The RJ hunt was presented by Directors Special Black Sizzling Hits Cassettes & CD’s in association with Yahoo India, Xtra Premium from Indian Oil and Strepsils.

    The other venues for the audition include High Street Phoenix (Lower Parel), R Mall (Mulund), Fun Republic (Andheri), Globus (Bandra). Moreover, the Radio Mirchi audition float will be touring the city.

    The hunt will be spread across four stages in the city. The auditions round will be followed by a detailed audition round and a ‘listeners choice’ round, says the media release.

    The hunt will culminate in a grand finale in front of a panel comprising of jury members.

  • 10 kids shortlisted in Radio City’s junior RJ hunt in Delhi

    MUMBAI: Radio City 91 FM has shortlisted ten Delhi children, including a visually impaired girl, Ambika Khattar, in the first phase of its Junior RJ Hunt . The selected kids stand a chance to co-host a new radio programme along with the Radio City regular RJs
    Besides Ambika, the nine other finalists include Divya Mirchandani from Shivalik, Shefali Bhatnagar from Faridabad, Arushi Bathla from Paschim Vihar, Anmil Vijay from Vivek Vihar, Dhruv Kakkar from Varinder Nagar, Rajat Verma from Mayur Vihar, Siddhant Arya from Civil Lines – North, Sagar Karmakar from Alakananda  Kalkaji and Anantdeep Singh from Mayur Vihar.
    Says Radio City COO Sumantra Dutta, “There is a lot of potential amongst the kids and we are happy to provide a platform to children to demonstrate their talent. Radio being a community medium is ideal – by involving the children we involve the entire family and thereby build a stronger bond with our listeners.”
    The selected children will get an opportunity to co-host a show on Radio City with RJs Sameep and Krittika between December 22 and 26, which will be judged by known theatre personality Amir Raza Hussain. Listeners of Radio City will also get a chance to vote for the best Junior RJ. The final selection will be based on the decision of the judges and listener votes, says a channel release.
    One boy and one girl will finally be chosen as Radio City’s junior RJs, an initiative, which the station claims will pave the way for new programmes for children on Radio City.

  • Lucknow Radio City 104.8 FM launches Junior RJ hunt

    MUMBAI: After VJ hunts, it is now RJ hunts.
    Radio City 104.8 FM Lucknow has announced the launch of “Junior RJ Hunt”, an event that will attempt to offer an opportunity for Lucknow’s kids to win a chance to be voted the best Junior Radio Jockey.
    Participants have to send in their applications with sample recordings of their voices on audiocassettes. After a screening process, ten short-listed participants will get an opportunity to be co-hosts on Radio City 104.8 FM on select days. Listeners of Radio City will then vote for the best Junior RJ.
    A panel of judges comprising theatre personality Rishad Rizvi, Meera Talwar, Jaideep Banerjee, programming head of Radio City, Lucknow and Sthitadi Basu, station head of Radio City Lucknow will then audition them to select the best Junior RJ on the basis of points scored during the auditions and the listeners’ votes.
