    CCL Season 10 roars into playoffs and finals

    Mumbai: As the adrenaline-fueled action of CCL 2024 Season 10 hurtles towards its climax, Karnataka Bulldozers, Chennai Rhinos, Mumbai Heroes and Bengal Tigers stand tall, having clinched their berth in the playoffs. The playoffs promise a spectacle of top-tier competition, with the four best teams battling it out for the chance to seize glory. In the heart-pounding first qualifier, Chennai Rhinos and Mumbai Heroes will clash head-on, while the eliminator will see Karnataka Bulldozers and Bengal Tigers duke it out, each fighting tooth and nail for their shot at the ultimate prize. Bhojpuri Dabbangs and Punjab De Sher, despite their initial setback, fought valiantly in their quest for a spot in the finals. Despite putting up a spirited struggle, they fell short in their bid to secure a coveted place in the ultimate showdown.

    Amidst the blazing heat of this season’s showdown, Kiccha Sudeep’s Karnataka Bulldozers emerge as the undeniable force, dominating the field with an awe-inspiring string of three consecutive triumphs.     Grand Masti gets a whooping Rs 39.8 crore opening

    Grand Masti has a terrific weekend raking in a big moolah at the box office. The film, with huge support from single screens, has collected Rs 39.8 crore for its opening weekend. This is a sequel to the previous adult comedy Masti and the three friends are back together and this time they are coming together at their college reunion. The film stars Ritesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani and Vivek Oberoi.

     

    John Day has not been able to make a mark despite Naseeruddin Shah leading the cast. The film has managed to collect just about Rs 1.7crore for the first weekend.

     

    Horror Story, a grossly under publicised film, has managed to cross the Rs two crore mark in its first three days.

     

    Shuddh Desi Romance has had a good first week. A pleasant love story with a contemporary theme of live-in couple scared to commit through the institution of marriage, the film has collected Rs 35.7 crore for its first week.

     

    Zanjeer, much in news because of its copyrights controversy involving the writers of the original version and the production house, Prakash Mehra Productions, has turned out to be a damp squib, having collected just Rs 13.75 crore.

     

    Satyagraha, which failed to stir up the box office and collected Rs 51.7 crore in its first week, has added Rs 6.9 crore in its second week to take its two week total to Rs 58.6 crore.

     

    Madras Café has collected Rs 1.1 crore in its third week to take its three week tally to Rs 40.65 crore.

     

    Channai Express has added Rs 1.1 crore in its fifth week thus taking its six week total to Rs 200.5 crore.

    MUMBAI: Push Integrated Communications has been awarded the creative duties of the Celebrity Cricket League 2013. The mandate includes creative development and execution across multiple media platforms.

    The ad spends on the league will be in the range of Rs 100 million.

    CCL is a 20-20 league cricket property involving superstars from the feature film fraternity. It has teams from Mumbai, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala and West Bengal. This year two new teams have been added from the Marathi and Bhojpuri regions. Participants of the league include Mohan Lal, Sunil Shetty, Venkatesh, Vishal, Sudeep, Jeet, Ritesh Deshmukh and Manoj Tiwari. This year CCL will be telecast on eight channels of Star in as many languages. The league stretches from 19 February to 10 March.

    MUMBAI: Marking a first for Indian cinema, UFO Moviez along with Valuable Edutainment, will pioneer the interactive ‘Virtual Premier‘ of actor-producer Ritesh Deshmukh‘s Marathi film ‘Balak Palak‘ at UFO digital theatres in five different locations – Mumbai, Thane, Nalasopara, Pune and Latur simultaneously.

     

    The event will take place on 3 January, at Sona Gold in Borivali East, Fun Fiesta in Nalasopara, Gold Digital in Thane West, Prabhat in Pune and Big Rama theatre in Latur.

     

    Audiences in each of these UFO digital theatres will also witness the cinegoers located in the other theatres in different cities asking questions. Deshmukh along with co-producers Uttung Hitendra Thakur and Ravi Jadhav, who is also the director of the film, music directors Vishal – Shekhar, and the children of Balak Palak, will all be stationed at the Valuable Edutainment central studio, to watch and interact with the audiences in all UFO digital theatres at the same time. The session is expected to last an hour followed by the screening of the film.

    Tere Naal Pyar Ho Gaya is an endearing tale of how unusual circumstances bring people together and change their lives forever.

    Miny, a free-spirited tomboy, instantly wins your heart with her bubbly personality and charming giggles. She has what it takes to make her an extremely eligible bachelorette in the eyes of many local boys…a passport to Canada.
     
    Her father, Bhatti, runs an autorickshaw business and is hell-bent to marry her off to Sunny, a brash and aimless boy, whose sole purpose in life is to spend his wealthy father‘s money.

    But this couple is clearly a mismatch for Sunny does not have what it takes to win Miny‘s heart…ambition. Does Miny find someone else?

    Directed by Mandeep Kumar, the film has Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D‘ Souza who are coming together after seven years as lead pair.
