    Hyderabad levels up as Comic Con and DreamHack unite for epic pop fest

    MUMBAI: Heroes, gamers, and dreamers assembled Hyderabad just turned into a real-life multiverse. The Maruti Suzuki Arena Hyderabad Comic Con, powered by Crunchyroll and paired with Dreamhack India, transformed Hitex Exhibition Centre into the capital of cool from 31 October to 2 November.

    Over 40,000 fans including 400-plus cosplayers descended on the venue for three packed days celebrating everything from anime and comics to esports and AR-fuelled fun. Organised by Comic Con India under Nodwin Gaming, the event fused nostalgia and next-gen tech in equal measure.

    Comic lovers geeked out with Mike Costa, writer and executive producer of Lucifer, and J. Gonzo, the artist behind striking covers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ghost Rider. Joining them were 17 homegrown comic creators, 9 performers, and 80 exhibitors, ensuring every corner buzzed with creative energy.

    Maruti Suzuki kept things fast and fun with a reflex challenge and display zone, while Crunchyroll’s booth had anime fans grooving to a non-stop playlist. Android Land’s Panfest drew BGMI warriors into live open lobbies, where digital battles matched the on-ground adrenaline.

    Meanwhile, Amar Chitra Katha and Tinkle blended the old with the new, offering fans a VR-powered dive into India’s mythological universes. The Running Man Rage Room let visitors smash their stress away, while the Predator Badlands Zone and Zootopia 2 Zone kept the high-octane vibes going.

    Adding star power, DreamHack India celebrated its sixth anniversary with a gamer’s paradise of retro titles, KO Fight Night, chess blitz tournaments, and BYOD arenas. KMR YoshiKiller claimed victory in Tekken 8, pocketing Rs 1 lakh, while JLQ Hallmark took home Rs 40,000 as the Super Smash Bros champ.

    The cosplay highlight came with the Hyderabad qualifiers for the Indian Championship of Cosplay 2026, where Pracheta Banerjee bagged the city crown and Rs 50,000, earning a spot in the national finals.

    Gaming icons like Scout, Kaashvi, Ghatak, and Trace God met fans at packed meet-and-greet zones powered by Revenant Esports, while Red Bull athletes and Godlike creators including Jonathan, V3nom, Zgod, Sharkshe, and Payal lit up the Red Bull Tetris National Finals. Even childhood favourite Rob (Harun Robert) of M.A.D. fame joined the party.

    Performers such as Syed Bashaar, Vivek Muralidharan, Karan Singh, Celinedee Matahari, and Kayden Sharma brought music, magic, and mischief to the stage, turning the convention into a festival of pure fandom.

    Mumbai: Leading Indian esports organisation, Revenant Esports, has announced its expansion to Europe by signing a European Counter Strike 2 (CS2) roster. The new roster consists of noted CS2 athletes Nathan “NBK” Schmitt, Adelin “adeX-” Nica, Kamil “reiko” Cegiełko, Laurențiu “lauNX” Țârlea and Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom.

    The team will currently be based out of the organisation’s boot camp in Belgrade, Serbia. The new roster will debut on LAN at the Skyesports Championship 2024. They would also be playing other prestigious online tournaments, with a focus on qualifying for the upcoming Shanghai Major. Guiding the team would be Patrik “pakesZ” Rozsos as coach and general manager, and Chris “Jeebs” DeSantis as assistant coach, both of whom have extensive experience in building competitive teams.

    Revenant Esports signs Punkk for BGMI esports lineup ahead of Rs two crore tournament

    Mumbai: Revenant Esports, an esports organisation has announced a new edition to its Battlegrounds Mobile India Esports lineup. Ashutosh “Punkk” Singh, the 21-year-old hailing from Chirawa, Rajasthan, is the newest addition to the team ahead of the anticipated BGMI India Series (BGIS), Krafton’s Rs 2,00,00,000 prize pool esports tournament.

    At Revenant, Punkk joins longtime former allies Sensei and Fierce. Having played with them for nearly two years back from 2020 to 2022, he has an understanding of the team’s playstyle while bringing in experience from his recent stints at Reckoning Esports and Velocity Gaming.

    Furthermore, having played with Sensei, who currently serves as the IGL for Revenant Esports, for such a long time, Punk will be able to naturally assimilate into the team, ahead of the crucial The Grind phase of the BGMI India Series.

    Having previously served as an IGL himself, he will be able to assist Sensei in crucial situations in-game. Punk also brings an aggressive playstyle to the team and his gun-power, for which he is widely renowned, will help the team pick up the finishes which are very important in the new points system for BGMI Esports.

    Commenting on his reunion with former teammates and joining Revenant Esports, Punk remarked, “I am very excited to be a part of Revenant Esports and reunite with my old friends Sensei and Fierce. I think all of us have a deep understanding of our respective play styles in the game. With our collective experience and synergy, combined with the prowess of Aquanox and Blaze, we will be able to leave a strong mark on the tournament.”

    Revenant Esports’ BGMI Esports lineup is one of the most formidable in the country. The team has previously finished second in the Skyesports Championship 5.0 including a fifth place finish at the India-Korea Invitational in Delhi.     The decision to enlist these formidable players comes in anticipation of the upcoming VALORANT challengers South Asia Split 1, a stage where Revenant Esports aims to carve its legacy. This announcement comes after the organization recently welcomed back Kasif “Paradox” Sayyed to its lineup.

    Severine, a seasoned 31-year-old Indonesian professional, has made a comeback from retirement to compete for the title with a wealth of experience. He boasts a first-place finish at the VALORANT Challengers Indonesia 2023 Split 2 and a commendable third to fourth place at the VCT 2023 Pacific Ascension. Now, Severine eyes another shot at glory on the international stage.

    Expressing his excitement at competing professionally again, Severine said, “It feels good to be back playing competitively again. With this opportunity, I aim to return to Ascension once more with Revenant Esports and vie for a franchise slot this year. Revenant is assembling an impressive roster, and I can’t wait to contend for the title with this formidable lineup.”

    Dos9, the mechanically skilled prodigy from Kazakhstan, has been an active player since 2021. His inclusion adds a layer of complexity to the Revenant Esports VALORANT roster.

    Dos9 shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I’m very glad to have one more chance to prove myself in VCL. My goal is to showcase the highest team and individual level over the next two splits.     Mumbai: Revenant Esports, the esports organisation, further announced two signings to its VALORANT roster ahead of the 2024 esports season. The organization has secured the signings of seasoned player Jayanth “skillZ” Ramesh and emerging star Prish “Tricky” Valvani, strategically bolstering its already formidable lineup.

    Skillz is among the most experienced players Indian VALORANT has to offer. His rise to fame came with Global Esports as he formed the core team for the organization prior to their rise to the VALORANT Partnership Program in the VCT Pacific. Following a brief sabbatical in 2023, Skillz made a resounding comeback in December 2022 at the VALORANT Convergence 2023 in Bangalore, securing an impressive third to fourth-place finish.

    Mumbai: Revenant Esports shines at Brawl Stars world finals 2023, Dominates day one in Sweden. The Indian powerhouse dazzles on the global stage, vying for the championship and a $750,000 prize pool.

    The sole Indian team at the world event, Revenant Esports is competing intending to bring the international trophy to the country. The team is now one step closer to achieving their goal following an impressive performance on day one, securing their advancement to the playoffs stage.

    Comprised of Jerome “Response” Jiaen, Joshua “Prime” Lim, Prashank “Trashant” Malik and led by the 18-year-old Indian prodigy, Ashmit “Sergeant Clash” Singh, the team had already scripted history by qualifying for the event – as they became the first team ever from India to make it to the Brawl Stars world finals, one of the most prestigious esports events globally.

    The team was sorted into group A, which comprised the North American heavyweights Luminosity Gaming and China’s BC Gaming. While the team fell to Luminosity, one-three, they staged a huge comeback against the Chinese teams. The intense best-of-five series saw the Indian squad come out on top with a scoreline of three-two.

    Reacting to making it to the playoffs stage, Revenant Esports’ Sergeant Clash, said, “Coming into the group stage of the Brawl Stars world finals 2023, we knew we had what it took to make it to the Playoffs. We lost to Luminosity in the first match due to some errors, but we didn’t let that set us down and worked together to rectify them. It’s a truly exhilarating feeling that we could take down BC Gaming and make it to the Playoffs. Our team is taking it one game at a time and kudos to the boys for keeping their nerves in such a high-stakes tournament.”

    Revenant Esports will now be seen in action in the quarterfinals of the Brawl Stars world finals 2023. They will compete against the winner of group C at 5:35 pm IST on 26, Nov 2023.

    Revenant Esports makes history at Brawl Stars World Finals

    Mumbai: Revenant Esports, among India’s most prominent esports organisations, has scripted history to qualify for the Brawl Stars World Finals 2023. This makes the org the first Indian team ever to make it to the biggest stage for Brawl Stars esports, where they will not only be fighting for national glory but also for a share of a prize pool of more than $750,000.

    Revenant Esports went into the Brawl Stars Championship Last-Chance Qualifier in Katowice, Poland as an underdog but was able to put up a dominant performance. They took down Rising Sun Esports SEA and Datos F/A in back-to-back games to place first in their Group. Ultimately, they faced the formidable Reconic Esports SA for the Brawl Stars World Finals 2023 slot.

    While Revenant Esports weren’t able to close the first round in the best-of-five series, they came back from behind to earn the Golden Ticket with a 3-1 score. This historic victory for the organisation will now secure them a chance to fight for the world championship title.

    The Brawl Stars World Finals 2023 will take place from Nov. 24 to 26 at the Elmia Exhibition and Convention Center in Jönköping, Sweden. Twelve of the globe’s best teams, including the likes of Revenant Esports, SK Gaming, NAVI, and Tribe Gaming, will compete for the title of world champions.
