    Times Now gears up for Republic Day weekend

    MUMBAI: Times Now, the 24 hr English news channel brings a whole host of special programming to celebrate Republic Day which will continue into the weekend.
    The channel starts the celebrations with a special programme on the oldest regiment in the Indian army- personal troops of the Indian President-The President’s Men. Times Group had earlier launched an integrated campaign called India poised across all mediums. The India Poised campaign music video featuring Amitabh Bacchan and Gulzar will be interspersed with music by the trio Shankar, Ehsaan Loy.
    A special interview series will have guests like Milind Deora, Rajeev Chandrashekhar and John Abraham as faces of emerging India. Half hour show like The Rising and I Play for India delves into the politics and sports arena of India.
    The channel rounds up the day with its Newshour special which will focus on segments like cricket, citizen and Brand India. The weekend fare has interviews lined up with President APJ Abdul Kalam and a celebrity panel discussion with Shashi Tharoor, Prasoon Joshi, Mahesh Bhatt, Shobha De and Neville Tuli.
    Speaking about the special programming on Republic Day,TIMES NOW editor in chief Arnab Goswami said, “TIMES NOW aims at providing viewers a complete picture of India. Special programming on the Republic Day and even the weekend will present views, opinions and suggestions of Indians who get affected and those who have significantly contributed in the emergence of the new nation.”

    The plot follows the visit of the Thangarians and the visit to Earth forcing Hawk Girl is to choose between loyalty to her people or love for her friends on her adopted planet Earth. It promises to be story of a battle that could rip the world’s greatest superheroes apart forever.

    Cartoon Network to celebrate Republic Day with premiere of ‘Krishna: Makhan Chor’

    MUMBAI: Cartoon Network will celebrate Republic Day with the Indian television premiere of Green Gold Animation Studio’s second 2-D animation feature Krishna: Makhan Chor on 26 January at 12 noon and 7:30 p.m. This also marks the worldwide premiere of the 2-D animated feature film.

    This is Cartoon Network’s third acquisition from Hyderabad-based Green Gold Animation Studio, the earlier being Vikram Betaal in 2005 and Krishna: the Birth which was premiered on Janamashtami last year, informs an official release.

    Turner International India Pvt. Ltd. VP advertising sales and networks, India and South Asia Monica Tata said, “There has been no looking back on local acquisitions since 2001, when Cartoon Network was the first kids’ channel to premiere Indian animation. Indian animations on the Network have been a hit with kids. In fact, the premiere of Krishna: the Birth, rated exceptionally well with a 1.2 TVR in the kids’ segment and its telecast positioned Cartoon Network not only as a leader in the kids’ segment, but also as the #2 National Channel in the 15+ audience (across general interest channels, all India, for the telecast time of 2p.m. on August 16, 2006).”

    Krishna: Makhan Chor which is the second part of a four part series, narrates the story of Lord Krishna in his childhood. It is set against the backdrop of his growing years under the love and care of his foster parents, Nandlal and Yashoda, to become the popular, mischievous but lovable “Kanha” of Gokul. This part also includes Krishna’s tryst with various demons, which have been sent by his uncle, Kansa.

    Rajshri.com to offer episodes of ‘Malgudi Days’ and ‘Fauji’ for download

    MUMBAI: Rajshri.com, broadband entertainment platform for Indian video content, has announced the online premiere of classic TV shows Malgudi Days and Fauji.

    Additionally, the website will also celebrate Republic Day with an exclusive collection of Republic Day videos, wallpapers and ringtones to foster the spirit of Patriotism.

    One new episode of both Malgudi Days, which is based on R. K. Narayan’s short stories and Fauji, which marks Shahrukh Khan’s debut on screen, will be unveiled everyday on the portal. Viewers will have the option to view streaming episodes for free or also download them at USD 1.99 per episode, informs an official release.

    Besides the regular Hindi version of Fauji, an English subtitled version is also being offered. The TV show Mahabharat, premiered on Rajshri.com a month ago and a new episode continues to be unveiled everyday. In order to increase the consumer base of Mahabharat, Rajshri.com plans to offer the epic with Spanish and French subtitles.
