    MUMBAI: Kabaddi is no longer just heard in a single tongue, it’s shouting from the rooftops in eight. As the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 12 kicks off on 29 August, fans can expect a whole new playbook of innovation, from fresh formats and referee cams to commentary in eight languages.

    For the first time, the league goes truly multilingual. Alongside English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi, viewers can now hear raids in Haryanvi and Bhojpuri a move that takes kabaddi deeper into its northern heartlands. Bhojpuri has already been a smash hit with cricket audiences, while Haryanvi adds a hyperlocal connect.

    And the voices leading the charge are just as starry. Ravi Kishan headlines the Bhojpuri feed, while Srinivas Reddy takes Telugu. Champions K. Prapanjan (Tamil), Mohit Chhillar (Haryanvi), Vishal Mane (Marathi), former India women’s captain Mamatha Poojary (Kannada) and raider Rishank Devadiga add insider flair. Add to that the likes of Sunil Taneja, Vrajesh Hirjee, Padamjeet Sehrawat, NC Kaushik and Chaitanya Sant, and the mat suddenly sounds richer than ever.

    The tech side gets a glow-up too. Fans can now experience two dugout views, a split screen revival tracker, and the big debut, the ‘Referee Cam’, which flips between live play and a bodycam perspective, plunging viewers into the heart of a raid.

A brand-new play-in phase has been added: the top two teams sail straight into the playoffs, 3rd and 4th contest a mini-qualifier, while 5th to 8th fight it out for the remaining slots.

    With every raid live on Star Sports Network and JioHotstar, Season 12 promises to be kabaddi like never before faster, louder, and more local, with the referee’s whistle now literally in your ear.

    Mumbai: Zee TV is all set for the launch of its new devotional singing reality show “Swarna Swar Bharat” on 22 January. Hosted by actor Ravi Kishan, the show will be aired every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m.

    “Conceptualised with the aim of celebrating Indian values and connecting the audiences to their roots, the show will bring alive stories of Vedic Gods and Goddesses through soulful devotional music,” said the channel in a statement.

    “Music is the most organic and powerful medium for man to communicate with the powers above, irrespective of faith. It is through devotional music; be it in the form of the flute, the shankh naad or chanting that most of us feel connected with divinity,” said Zee TV business head Aparna Bhosle. “Offering our audiences a few moments of solace while reconnecting them to their roots through devotional music and stories of Indian culture narrated in verse, we are happy to present ‘Swarna Swar Bharat’. This first-of-its-kind devotional singing reality show is a grand celebration of Indian culture.”

    Veteran singers and Padmashree recipients Kailash Kher and Suresh Wadkar will be seen on the judge’s panel along with poet Kumar Vishwas. The show is produced by Fathom Pictures and Kailasa Entertainment.

    “Swarn Swar Bharat” will celebrate Indian values and take the audience back to the roots through relatable stories narrated in verse and soulful devotional music, said the statement.

    Veteran singers and Padmashree recipients Kailash Kher and Suresh Wadkar will be seen as judges on the show along with poet Kumar Vishwas.

    Mumbai: SonyLIV has announced its latest fictional offering “The Whistleblower” that begins streaming on 16 December.

    Produced by StudioNEXT, the series features actors Ravi Kishan, Ritwik Bhowmik and Sonali Kulkarni in leading roles. Directed by Manoj Pillai, created and written by Ajay Monga, the series also features actors Ankita Sharma, Ashish Verma, Hemant Kher, Joy Sengupta, Riddhi Khakar, Sachin Khedekar and Zakir Hussain among others in prominent roles.

    The series is inspired by a series of true events across India. The show traces the journey of Dr Sanket played by Ritwik, a final year medical student who gets himself entangled in a chain of events that trigger chaos within a system. The repercussions of Sanket’s actions take a toll on his personal life and his world starts to crumble.

    Directed by Manoj Pillai, created and written by Ajay Monga, the series also features actors Ankita Sharma, Ashish Verma, Hemant Kher, Joy Sengupta, Riddhi Khakar, Sachin Khedekar and Zakir Hussain among others in prominent roles. “This is my first directorial-debut and I couldn’t have asked for a story better than this,” said Manoj Pillai. “The script is new-age, pathbreaking and bold.     MUMBAI: Mindshare, India’s largest full-service media agency and part of GroupM, collaborated with Cosmic Information and Technology Ltd to launch a new voice-driven platform called ‘Audio Conferencing Bridge’ called ‘mSamvaad’. The solution helps connect leading brands of the country to the audience in media-dark areas on the largest voice conferencing infrastructure with a capacity of 25,000 concurrent calls.

    A large segment of Indian audiences cannot be reached through the traditional or the new-age digital mediums. This problem of low penetration coupled with low levels of literacy makes it difficult for brands to surpass the barriers of communication in remote areas. However, the rural centres of the country have been recorded as driving the telecom growth in the nation. In the Indian ecosystem, about 450 million active SIM cards are resting on feature phones, the highest across the world.     MUMBAI: Acclaimed director, producer and actor Tigmanshu Dhulia, has joined the cast of ZEE5’s upcoming Original, Rangbaaz. Tigmanshu essays the role of Ram Shankar Tiwari, who has an intimidating personality and is a master class politician.

    Tigmanshu joins Saqib Saleeb, Ranvir Shorey, Aahana Kumra and Ravi Kishan in Rangbaaz, which is set against the rustic background of the UP of the 90s. The story revolves around a man engaging in the dark and dirty world of crime and shows the human side of one of the most feared gangsters of the region from the '90s.

    Talking about the same Tigmanshu Dhulia said, “Rangbaaz has a great narrative and the team working on it is excellent. I am excited to be a part of this project with ZEE5. I was attracted to my character Ram Shankar Tiwari – he is a sharp, relatable politician with power.”
