    Menaka Menon named president & managing partner, growth & strategy at DDB Mudra South

    Mumbai: DDB Mudra Group elevates Menaka Menon, current national strategy head, to take on the role of leading the south office. She will lead operations and strategic thinking for clients based out of the Bengaluru office. Ranji Cherian who successfully ran and scaled the south office for over 16 years will now lead client excellence at the group.

    DDB Mudra Group chief creative officer Rahul Mathew said, “We believe that everything we do is built on strong strategic pillars; be it our work or how we do our work. In her new role, Menaka will use her strategic background to add more value to our client’s business, while building a strong culture of creativity in the office. Over the last few years, some of our best work has come from our South office and I’m really excited to work with Menaka to push us to newer heights.”

    Commenting on her new role, Menaka Menon said, “I am super excited about this new role and look forward to further strengthening the South operation and building a strong, closely knit team, geared towards creating great work that has the power to move people.”

    With over 23 years of experience in business and strategy, she has experience across advertising, broadcast media and strategic consulting. Menaka has spent over 15 years in advertising with stints at agencies such as FCB, VML, and Leo Burnett.

    DDB Mudra south & east appoints Rajat Ray as associate vice president

    MUMBAI: DDB Mudra south & east has roped in Rajat Ray as its associate vice president. Based out of the agency’s Bengaluru office, he will be reporting to DDB Mudra south & east executive vice president Sujay Ghosh. .

     

    Ray joins DDB Mudra, fresh from a five year stint at Ogilvy & Mather, where he was last designated client services director and led the consolidated advertising team on the IBM account. Before that, he was associated with prominent agencies like Euro RSCG, Ogilvy (earlier stint) and Fountainhead.

     

    Ray has had extensive experience across sectors both B2C and B2B, including but not limited to FMCG, consumer durables, real estate, healthcare, lifestyle, BFSI and IT and brings to the table, a high degree of proficiency in digital marketing.

     

    Ray said, “I’m extremely excited about my new assignment at DDB Mudra and look forward to navigate through the unique opportunities and challenges that the alco-bev category presents. In the short span while I’ve been here, I’ve been struck by the overall levels of energy and enthusiasm. I am impressed with some of the work emanating from this office clearly indicative of the high level of strategic thinking and creative talent it has at its disposal.”

    DDB Mudra South & East appoints Tejali Shete, Ajay Menon as senior creative directors

    MUMBAI: DDB Mudra South and East has appointed Tejali Shete and Ajay Menon as senior creative directors. The duo will be based out of the agency’s Bengaluru office. 

     

    With over a decade of experience in the creative communications industry, Shete joins DDB Mudra from Grey Worldwide and a short stint at Leo Burnett, Kuala Lumpur. Shete has worked with agencies including Contract, Lowe Lintas, Ogilvy & Mather, Creativeland Asia, and Percept/H.

     

    On the other hand, Menon joins DDB Mudra from JWT Chennai where he was senior creative director & AVP. With over 16 years of experience, Menon has worked at Orchard in Mumbai, JWT in Chennai and Saatchi in Bengaluru.

    Mudra South ropes in Vipul Thakkar as ECD

    MUMBAI: Mudra South has appointed Vipul Devji Thakkar as executive creative director, Mudra South. He will spearhead the creative work that comes out of Mudra South, including all three offices in the South region at Kochi, Chennai and Bangalore.

    Thakkar joins Mudra from Ogilvy & Mather, Bangalore where he worked for over two years as senior creative director.
