    Big Magic Ganga readies Navratri special programming

    MUMBAI: The regional entertainment channel of Bihar, Jharkhand and Purvanchal, Big Magic Ganga is planning to launch five new shows for its Navratri special series over nine days under Jholaa Jhuleli Maiyaa.

     

    Starting from second week of October, Jholaa Jhuleli Maiyaa will include a special programming line-up dedicated to Goddess Durga comprising shows such as Ganga Jagran, Ram Charan Sukhdai, Bhakti Sagar, Jai Durga Maaiya and Family Talkies – Shakti special. 

     

    The show Ganga Jagran is a stage based devotional musical event with a combination of devotion and entertainment. The show will be led by singer and actor Pawan Singh, clubbed with various known artists from the region. Ganga Jagran will air on 17 October, with a repeat telecast on 18 October for duration of three hours.

                                                 

    Ram Charan Sukhdai is a devotional music series associated with spirituality along with bhakti songs. Singer Malini Awasthi will anchor the show and recite famous phrases from various holy books and will explain them in simpler terms to the audience. This half hour show will be aired from Monday – Friday at 9 am. 

     

    The 90 minute devotional show Bhakti Sagar will air at 7.30 am and pay tribute to nine goddesses in the form of bhajans. Ensuring a special dose of family entertainment, the channel will be introducing Family Talkies – Shakti special (Nau din Nau Flimyein). The special segment will showcase movies for nine days based on women empowerment.

    Ram Charan to work alongside Salman Khan

    MUMBAI: After making his foray into Bollywood with the remake of Zanjeer, the actor from down south is making some bigger moves… albeit the failure of his debut film, Ram Charan has been roped in for Salman Khan’s home production.

    Earlier, speculations were rife that Ram Charan was offered a film under Salman Khan’s home production. If latest reports are to be believed, the film will soon be launched. Apparently, Ram Charan was in Mumbai last week to discuss about the project that will be produced by Salman.

    Besides his Hindi project, Ram Charan is also working on a couple of Telugu films. The actor’s upcoming film Yevadu, directed by Vamsi Paidipally, is getting ready for a grand release. The film was scheduled to hit the screens on 10 October, but the release date was pushed further to pave way for Jr NTR’s Ramayya Vastavayya. Yevadu producer Dil Raju, who also happens to be the producer of Ramayya Vastavayya, had revealed that the Ram Charan-starrer might hit theatres during Diwali or Christmas.

    Ram Charan is also set to begin working in a new film, directed by Krishna Vamsi. The film, deemed as a family entertainer, will have Venkatesh teaming up with the Magadheera hero for the first time. The director is said to have completed the script and the film’s shooting is expected to begin soon.

    Salim & Javed bless Zanjeer maker, greenlight remake

    MUMBAI: The remake of the Amitabh Bachchan starrer Zanjeer has recently been in the news regarding the issues of copyright and royalty. Both the writers of the 1973 original film Salim and Javed had expressed displeasure over the remake; they had also demanded a loyalty for the remake.

    But not anymore. It is said that producer Amit Mehra has secured the blessings from the film‘s writers and has their permission to re-make the film now. Said Mehra, “We have bought the rights of Zanjeer from my father‘s production company, Prakash Mehra Films. I have met both (Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar) of them to take their blessings. “

    Meanwhile, the maker has gone ahead and formalised the cast of the new Zanjeer. Telugu actor Ram Charan, son of Chiranjeevi, has been finalised to essay the role of inspector Vijay Khanna, while Priyanka Chopra is being considered to reprise the role of Jaya Bachchan. The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Prakash Raj and Mahie Gill in pivotal roles.

    It is said that Amitabh Bachchan may do a cameo in the remake. The remake version of the film, to be directed by Apoorva Lakhia, would go on floors this month.
