    Inspirational Indians Felicitated at SENIOR CITIZEN AWARDS

    MUMBAI: In a first-of-a-kind initiative, CNN-IBN, in partnership with Paranjape Schemes Construction Limited, honoured 12 unsung senior citizens of India at the Senior Citizen Awards – The Unstoppables. At a glittering awards ceremony held at Taj Land’s End Hotel in Mumbai, Chief Guest Amitabh Bachchan felicitated the winners for their brave and inspirational endeavours.

    These special awardees, well past their retirement age, have been working tirelessly to improve the lives of people around them, thereby making themselves valuable partners in India’s progress. The recipients of this award were as follows:

    The Senior Citizen Awards – The Unstoppables adhered to a process of selection which had the CNN-IBN Editorial Board at its core.
    Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, CNN-IBN, IBN7 & IBN-Lokmat, shares his views about the awards, saying, “We are proud to bestow this honour on our senior citizens who work at the grassroots to uplift our society without looking for any kind of recognition in return.     CNN-IBN shines at the 13th Indian television academy awards

    NEW DELHI: India’s Most Awarded News Channel, has once again proved its mettle by winning three awards at the prestigious 13th Indian Television Academy Awards. CNN-IBN was adjudged the Best English News Channel of 2013 – for the seventh time in the last eight years and four times in a row. Sagarika Ghose, was conferred the Best Anchor – Talk/Chat Show for Face the People. The other award was bagged by the channel’s flagship show INDIA at 9 in the category Best News/ Current Affairs Show.

    The Indian Television Academy Awards is an annual event organised by the Indian Television Academy. The awards are presented in various categories, including popular programming (music, news, entertainment, sports, travel, lifestyle and fashion), best television channel in various categories, technical awards and best performance awards.

    Rajdeep Sardesai, Editor-in-Chief, CNN-IBN, IBN7 & IBN Lokmat, said, “It is with great pride that we accept the award for the Best English News Channel for the seventh time in the last eight years. This is indeed a tribute to the relentless spirit of the wonderful team at CNN-IBN which works very hard day after day, 365 days.”

    Dilip Venkatraman bids adieu to TV18, to pursue entrepreneurial interests

    MUMBAI: CNN-IBN and IBN7 CEO N. Dilip Venkatraman has decided to move on from his role in order to pursue his entrepreneurial interests. During his eight year stint, Venkatraman managed a variety of mandates on the general news side of the group. Prior to his current role, he led marketing operations for CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat and also managed IBN Focus, the customised media solutions unit for these news channels.

     

    Apart from his leadership role in building CNN-IBN into one of the country’s most reputed news brands, Venkatraman is well-known for conceptualising benchmark properties at the IBN News Network. Network18 COO Ajay Chacko will oversee the operations of the IBN News Network in the interim.

     

    Speaking on this development, Network18 group CEO B. Sai Kumar said “Dilip has played a pivotal role in building our general news network, right from the outset. Today, CNN-IBN, IBN7 and IBN-Lokmat are benchmark brands in the general news space and Dilip has contributed significantly to laying such a strong foundation for the future.     Venkatraman has over two decades of corporate experience and prior to joining TV18, he held leadership positions at the India Today Group and Zee Network. Venkatraman is a graduate in public administration and holds management qualifications from IIM Bangalore and Harvard Business School.
