    Mumbai : Homegrown internet commerce company Meesho, announced its partnership with four Indian Premier League (IPL) teams for the upcoming season of the T20 league. Meesho will be the official online shopping partner for the five-time champion Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, and Gujarat Titans. As part of the tie-up, Meesho will be the lead trouser branding partner of all four teams. It also marks Meesho’s entry as the on-air broadcast partner on the Star Sports network for the coverage of Tata IPL 2022.

    As a homegrown internet commerce company, Meesho’s collaborative step with the four franchises for the T20 league that was conceived and started in India, comes as a natural choice, according to the brand. Forging ecosystem partnerships will help create the right visibility and traction for Meesho as part of the company’s growth strategy.     Mumbai: One Moto India – a British brand of premium EVs in India has announced that it will be the associate sponsor of the Rajasthan Royals franchise.The brand has come on board as official EV partner in the two-wheeler segment for the upcoming Season 15 of IPL, starting 26 March.

    As part of the association, One Moto India’s official logo will feature on the back of the Royals’ playing helmets and caps. The mobility company will also unveil the special range of limited edition One Moto two-wheelers – RR X One Moto. The association with the Royals will also see the Rajasthan-based franchise’s players encouraging their fan community to shift to Electric Vehicles and become a part of India’s EV revolution.

    Furthermore, the brand will also give away custom design One Moto Rajasthan Royals limited edition scooter range across the Rajasthan Royals academies in Nagpur, Mumbai, Dubai, and the ones that open during the upcoming season.

    One Moto has chosen to associate with the Royals for Season 15 as the team’s ethos are in sync with the brand’s ambition to promote sustainable solutions and create awareness. The brand has been on an aggressive spree on all the facets including associations with players like Global Assure, and back-to-back product launches including the EV two-wheelers – Byka, Commuta, Electa.

    Amid brickbats, Rajasthan Royals & Delhi Capitals extend help in fight against Covid

    MUMBAI: The fourteenth edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), taking place amid a raging pandemic, has been met with severe criticism from several quarters for being “tone deaf’ to the situation in the country. With the tournament now progressing into its second leg, matches are being staged in Ahmedabad and Delhi, where the prevailing Covid2019 crisis is at its peak right now.

    Many global observers have also censured the cash-rich league, stating that “the country’s sole focus” should be on subduing the virus and not on a game of cricket. On the other hand, there are voices which feel that perhaps the game offers some respite to a nation ravaged by the second wave of the viral onslaught.

    While opinions continue to differ on whether it is appropriate to conduct the matches at such a time, IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) have stepped forward to do their bit by aiding Covid relief efforts.

    RR has announced a contribution of Rs 7.5 crores to help India fight the second wave of Covid2019 while DC has pledged Rs 1.5 crore to the national capital in Covid aid. Both teams took to social media to share the news.

    The owners and team management of RR have pooled this amount to support the people impacted by the massive surge in cases. 

    “Players along with the team owners and team management have come forward to raise funds and have been working along with the Rajasthan Royals’ philanthropic arm Royal Rajasthan Foundation (RRF) in partnership with the British Asian Trust (BAT),” said the official statement on the team’s webpage.

    “BAT works closely with the Indian government on many initiatives – especially in the area of skills and education. The Trust’s founder, Prince Charles, launched an emergency “Oxygen for India” appeal, which is currently focused on acquisition and distribution of oxygen concentrators, devices that can provide the enriched gas straight from the air, to treat patients when hospital supplies are under strain,” it detailed.

    Also, “The funds raised by Rajasthan Royals will help pan India, with an initial focus on the state of Rajasthan, where the RRF, chaired by Ranjit Barthakur, has numerous initiatives it continues to support.”

    It added further that “Having the team owners and its players come together has enabled this initiative to reach the scale it has, providing aid to tackle the current crisis and help people get the single most pressing necessity at this time – oxygen.” 

    Meanwhile, the Delhi Capitals have donated monetary aid to non-profits in support of the city’s fight against the Covid crisis. The team stated that the amount will be used to procure essential medical supplies, ranging from oxygen cylinders and concentrators to Covid wellness kits.

    “Together, the franchise and its patrons, the JSW Foundation & GMR Varalakshmi Foundation are offering financial support amounting to Rs 1.5 crore to NCR based NGOs the Hemkunt Foundation and the Uday Foundation,” the IPL franchise said in a statement.

    “In this hour of crisis, DC stands in solidarity with the citizens of Delhi, whose efforts to selflessly help each other in the fight against Covid2019 have been inspiring. We are honoured to extend our support,” said Delhi Capitals interim CEO Vinod Bisht.

    The capital city has been one of the worst affected in the country in the second wave of infections. Many hospitals have also been struggling to maintain adequate stock of medical oxygen. As hospitals across the country grapple with an influx of critically ill Covid2019 patients, the demand for medical oxygen has increased by 67 per cent in the last nine days, according to the ministry of health and family welfare.

    New Delhi: It's that time of the year again, which cricket fans have been waiting for with bated breath. The 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is here and the excitement is palpable. Radio channel Big FM has partnered with the IPL team Rajasthan Royals for the second consecutive year as its official radio partner.

    The second wave of Covid2019 cases continues to pose a challenge and once again, all the matches will be played in empty stadiums, with no enthusiastic fans to cheer their favourite teams. Big FM has announced that it intends to broadcast the stadium experience and ensure that fans can enjoy the revelry from the comforts of their home.

    As a part of the association, Big FM will become Radio Stadium for an hour every day, serving exclusive trivia, conducting exciting contests and quizzes, and hosting an expert panel that will speak on the team and players, and give royal updates on pre or post matches of the Rajasthan Royals team.

    The radio network will also give a chance to their listeners to come up with a ‘royal chant’ for team RR. Listeners will be asked to describe each Rajasthan Royal player in a word. Shortlisting 11 words that best describe each player, Big FM will compose a royal chant using them as core lyrics. The chant will be played on the radio network during each match of the team.

    The latest to be a part of that elite club is Rajasthan Royals’ Rahul Tewatia who smashed five sixes in one over in a match against Kings XI Punjab and turned into an overnight sensation.

    The 27-year-old all-rounder stunned the cricket lovers with his skills in Sharjah as he helped his team to score a win against Kings XI Punjab.

    Tewatia made his IPL debut for Rajasthan Royals in 2014, but never become a household name until Sunday when he changed the game. After signing up for Rajasthan Royals in 2014, he played only 1 game in IPL 2015. He was bought by the Royals for Rs 10 lakh.

    Netizens went crazy after seeing his performance and #Tewatia started trending on the platform. Rajasthan Royals changed its Twitter bio to pay tribute to the 27-year-old all-rounder.

    The team’s new Twitter bio now reads — “Hoping 2020 does a Rahul Tewatia”.

    NEW DELHI- Indian multinational group Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT Tyres) will sponsor six Indian Premier League teams, including reigning champions Mumbai Indians, in the upcoming edition of the tournament, starting September 19 in the UAE.

    Apart from Mumbai Indians, BKT will sponsor Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Rajasthan Royals.

    The company has already been promoting cricket by supporting Australia's T20 tournament, the Big Bash League.

    “Cricket is a very popular sport in India. Everyone loves the game, and we at BKT are unstoppable when it is about sport. We are pleased and excited to be a part of an event that is much followed in our home country.
