    MUMBAI: Raj Malik, the producer of the acclaimed film Madaari has now joined Miraj Group as film production and acquisition business head.

    Miraj Group’s recent release was Pati Patni Aur Woh starring Riya Sen. The show was launched on MX Player. The organisation wants to accelerate its efforts towards producing engaging content that would find resonance with audiences across revenue streams. Malik will be leading the film production business for Miraj Group and build a slate of films, and OTT offerings.

    With a career spanning over 22 years in the M&E sector, Malik in his earlier assignments has held senior positions at Rhiti Group, Cinestaan, Krian Media, Walt Disney, Eros and Warner Bros.

    Miraj Group is a 34-year-old organisation with a diverse portfolio of businesses like food snacks, printing, and packaging, pipes and fittings, engineering, hospitality, retail, real estate and film production besides the award-winning “Miraj Cinemas”, India’s fifth-largest multiplex chain with 121 Screens across 33 cities.

    MUMBAI: MEASAT satellite systems, on 2 July, expanded its video region in South Asia with the distribution of News24, Sagarmatha TV and Prime TV. The satellite system is a premium supplier of communication and video services to leading broadcasters, direct-to-home (DTH) platforms and telecom operators. MEASAT provides services to over 150 countries representing 80 per cent of the world’s population across Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and Australia, withcapacity across six communication satellites.     Globecast and MEASAT to distribute HGTV across Asia

    MUMBAI: MEASAT Satellite Systems has decided to tie up with Globecast to distribute Scripps Networks’ channel HGTV which will cater to the home and lifestyle category in Asia.

     

    The channel will launch on 4 December with content on property, hybrid construction, design and extreme spaces. HGTV will be beamed off MEASAT 3.

     

    Globecast Asia senior VP of sales and marketing Soo Yew Weng said, “Globecast is honoured to work again with MEASAT and Scripps Networks’ in bringing HGTV to audiences in Asia. Globecast looks forward to HGTV becoming as popular here as it is in the US, where it has been ranked as the number one lifestyle brand, reaching over 99 million households.”

     

    Globecast provides playout, content preparation and select post-production services for all four of Scripps Networks’ regional channels-HGTV, Asian Food Channel, Food Network and Travel Channel across the APAC.

    Outdoor HD Joins MEASAT’s Neighborhood

    MUMBAI: MEASAT Satellite Systems Sdn. Bhd. (“MEASAT”) announced today a three (3) year agreement with Globecast and Outdoor Channel for distribution on the MEASAT-3 satellite. Under the terms of the agreement, MEASAT will distribute Outdoor HD via MEASAT-3’s global C-band beam, covering 102 countries from Asia, Australia, Middle East, Europe and Africa.

     

    Outdoor Channel (Asia), The World Leader In Outdoor Entertainment, is a channel that features traditional and contemporary outdoor sports such as fishing, off-road, water sports, safari and a range of outdoor activities that thrill, inspire and entertain.
