MUMBAI: Home entertainment content house Shemaroo has lined up two new home video releases of recent Bollywood releases Raincoat and Hulchul. The films will be released on VCDs and DVDs.
According to a company release, both the DVDs have been at par with international standards and have been given features including 5.1 dolby digital sound, digitally re-mastered from original film, all region DVD, DVD 9, anamorphic widescreen DVD, enhanced for 16:9 widescreen TVs and interactive menus for songs and scenes for easy access to enhance viewer experience.
While Hulchul completed director Priyadarshan’s hit comedy trilogy after Hera Pheri and Hungama, Raincoat marked the national award winning Bengali director Rituparno Ghosh’s foray into Hindi Cinema.
The Bonus features in the Hulchul DVD include making of the film, deleted scenes and subtitles in English, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali. The VCD is priced at Rs. 149 and DVD at Rs. 349. Zee acquires telecast rights of ‘Raincoat’ pre-release
MUMBAI: Zee has bagged the telecast rights of an unreleased film Raincoat. The channel also plans to telecast Aitraaz will screen the movie post June ’05.
Zee Music and Zee Cinema business head Bharat Ranga has confirmed the acquisition of Raincoat, has refrained from disclosing the amount that was paid for the movie.
Raincoat, which marks Bengali filmmaker Rituparno Ghosh’s foray into Bollywood, is set to release on 24 December. The movie stars Aishwarya Rai and Ajay Devgan in the lead roles.
Aitraaz stars Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra in the title roles. The Diwali release did reasonably well in the box office.
