MUMBAI: Real-life husband and wife Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are set to co-star in ‘Betrayal‘ to be produced by Harold Pinter‘s Broadway production.
The couple is set to play adulterous pair named Robert and Emma, it has been reported.
In the film directed by veteran Mike Nichols, Emma, who is married to Robert, is having an affair with Jerry, to be played by Life of Pi star Rafe Spall.
Betrayal that will start previewing from 1 October will open 3 November at New York‘s Barrymore Theatre.
The film which is inspired by Pinter‘s affair with broadcaster Joan Bakewell will mark a Broadway debut for Weisz.
Meanwhile, Craig has been quite familiar with the Broadway stage, when he first acted opposite Hugh Jackman in 2009‘s A Steady Rain.
Craig and Weisz were previously paired up as husband and wife in Jim Sheridan-directed psychological thriller Dream House.

Disney plans sequel to Oz the Great and Powerful
MUMBAI: Planning for sequels has slowly become the norm in Hollywood.
Even before the release of the fantasy-adventure Oz the Great and Powerful, the makers have already planned a sequel. The film opens today in theatres worldwide.Expecting a box-office bonanza this weekend, Disney has taken this measure. In this connection the makers have hired Mitchell Kapner to write a script for the follow-up that would continue the adventures of Oz played by James Franco.
It may be remembered that Kapner came up with the concept and ideas for the origin story of Oz that is based on the classic L Frank Baum books. He pitched the idea to producer Joe Roth who set it up at Disney.The film stars Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams.
Before Oz, Kapner wrote The Whole Nine Yards and its sequel, The Whole Ten Yards, and also worked on the action movie Romeo Must Die.

PVR to release The Whistleblower on 21 October
MUMBAI: PVR Pictures will release The Whistleblower on 21 October.
The film that stars Academy-award winning actress Rachel Weisz has been directed by Larysa Kondracki.
Weisz plays the character of Kathryn Bolkovac, a Nebraska cop who served as a peacekeeper in post-war Bosnia and outed the U.N. for covering up a sex scandal.
The Whistleblower premiered at the 2010 edition of the Toronto Film Festival. It was nominated for the Directors Guild of Canada award and won the Audience award at the Palm Springs International Film Festival 2011.

Celebrities set to present at Golden Globe Awards
MUMBAI: The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) which will host the 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards has announced a raft of celebrities as presenters for the ceremony that will take place on 15 January.
In India the show will air early in the morning on 16 January 2007 on Star World at 6:30 am with a primetime repeat at 8 pm.
George Clooney and Rachel Weisz who won Golden Globes last year for supporting roles in the films Syriana and The Constant Gardener respectively are among the presenters along with Sarah Jessica Parker and John Stamos.
They join previously-announced presenters Felicity Huffman, Salma Hayek, Ben Stiller, Justin Timberlake and Reese Witherspoon.Warren Beatty will receive this years Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for his contribution to the entertainment field.
The Golden Globe Awards will be seen in more than 150 countries worldwide and is one of the few awards ceremonies that rewards work in both television and film.
