    SOTC awards creative business to DDB Mudra

    MUMBAI: Travel and tourism company Kuoni Travel Group India’s brand SOTC has appointed DDB Mudra as its new creative agency.

    Sources said the digital mandate will also move to DDB Mudra which until now was handled by R K Swamy BBDO.

    The agency‘s Mumbai branch will handle the new businesses.

    Network Advertising is the incumbent on the creative account. The agency was awarded the mandate in 2006.Other agencies that have handled the creative mandate for Kuoni in the past include Saatchi & Saatchi, The Republic and Pickle Lintas.

    TSOTC is known for its brand philosophy ‘Expect More‘. This thought — coined five to six years ago — positions the brand as a travel operator that provides more value, superior customer service and high quality.

    In the past, SOTC‘s media duties have been looked after by Maximize, the media planning and buying agency from the GroupM stable (2004-06), and later, by Maxus (2006 onwards). As of now, the media planning and buying duties are being handled by an in-house team.

    SOTC operates in the US, Canada, UK, Kenya, Tanzania, Mauritius, Kuwait, Oman, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Hong Kong, Singapore, Pakistan and South Africa.

    R K Swamy BBDO to handle Nomarks’ creative duties

    MUMBAI: RK Swamy BBDO has won the creative mandate for Nomarks range of skin care products.

    Soon after bagging the account, the agency conducted a research with teenagers and has come up with a TVC and print creatives for the first campaign – ‘Teenocracy‘.

    The campaign revolves around the lives of teenagers and their freedom of choice. The first TVC is currently on air.

    R K Swamy appoints Vishal Singh as GM Digital Direction

    MUMBAI: Digital Direction, part of the R K Swamy Media Group has appointed Vishal Singh as its General Manager. He will report to R K Swamy Media Group president Chintamani Rao.

    Commenting on his recruitment, Rao said, “Vishal comes to us with rich experience as a user of the digital media. I look forward to him bringing a new perspective to bear to our work, to the benefit of our teams and our clients.”

    Prior to this, Singh was working with ICICI Securities, where as a chief manager-marketing, he was responsible for digital marketing for all business groups of ICICI Securities.

    On his new assignment Singh said, “Straddling both print and digital medium, gives me unique insights and this experience will help me challenge conventional thinking and provide comprehensive digital solutions for clients.”

    With over eight years of experience, most of it in the digital media space and prior to that in print, Singh began his career with Bennett Coleman & Co.

    MUMBAI: R K Swamy Media Group has appointed Bhupesh Upadhye as its National Buying Director, Media Direction. He will report to R K Swamy Media Group president Chintamani Rao. 

    “Media Direction is a growing agency and has a lot of potential to grow faster. My role is to take buying to the next level and deliver better value to clients”, said Upadhye.

    Upadhye comes to R K Swamy from GroupM, where he worked successively in Fulcrum-Mindshare, MEC, and Motivator. Previously he has also been associated with Interactions (part of the Lintas Group), Carat and Mediacom.

    Rao said, “I am delighted to welcome Bhupesh to our team. His addition is part of our continuous endeavour to deliver ever better value to our clients.”

    R K Swamy to handle entire media planning of Raymond

    MUMBAI: Textile and apparel major, Raymond has consolidated its entire media planning and buying with R K Swamy Media Group, a part of the R K Swamy Hansa Group.

    Earlier, Starcom and Dentsu Media were the other two agencies that were handling some of Raymond‘s businesses.

    R K Swamy will now handle the brands and businesses of Raymond, Park Avenue, Parx, Colour Plus, J K Helene Curtis and J K Ansell.

  • Percept, Rediffusion & Vyas Giannetti Creative in quarter-finals of CAG Shield cricket tourney

    MUMBAI: Round two of the CAG cricket tournament saw some dramatic results, Defending Champions Adfactors crashed to a surprise defeat, Group M were bundled out for a mere 48 runs and three teams entered the quaterfinals with one round to spare.

    Vyas Giannetti Creative (VGC) crushed defending champions Adfactors by 7 wickets. Batting first, Adfactors were restricted to a paltry total of 112. Niket Karvir of VGC swept through the Ad factor batting line up, with fantastic bowling figures of 9-1-18-5.

    In another match, Rediffusion won by a huge margin of 166 runs against Interactive Avenues. Int. Avenues won the toss and put Rediffusion to bat first who went on to score 282 runs. Ganesh Panchal scored 57 runs and Dipesh Mulya scored 45 runs. Int. Avenues were bundled out for mere 116 runs. Dipesh Mulya took 2 wickets for 10 runs and walked away with the Man of the Match award.

    The match between R.K.Swamy and Network Advertising was a close one, with R.K.Swamy winning this nail biter by 2 wickets. Batting first Network made 205 runs in 40 overs. Innings of 58 runs by I. Nawaz and 52 runs by U. Chaukekar helped the total
    to go past 200. R.K. Swamy faltered in the beginning, losing the first wicket for 14 runs. But the partnership between Navin Sawant and S. Pawar of 114 runs got R.K. Swamy
    in to a winning position. Navin Sawant was adjudged the man of the match.

    One of the most eagerly awaited matches between Group M and Percept was a low-scoring affair. Perecpt put up a total of 135, with Devendra Naidu picking up 4 wickets and Ketan Karnik taking 3 wickets. But Percept kept their cool and bundled out Group M for a mere 48 runs. Subhash Rikame was the tormentor for Group M, taking 5 wickets for 24 runs. His performance earned him the Man of the Match award.

  • Interactive Avenues & Ambience Publicis makes it through to quarter finals

    MUMBAI: Cag Shield Cricket Tournament played on 17th February 2007- league stage round.In the first decider for the quarter finals, Interactive Avenues humbled R.K. Swamy by 4 wickets thus confirming their place. After winning toss and choosing to bat first, R.K.Swamy’s innings came to an end in just 27.4 overs and 172 runs, with Kawal Kazi making 45 runs and Prashant Shetty scoring 39 runs. R. Subramani took 4 wickets for 43 runs. Int. Avenues reached the necessary target in 34 overs, with 6 wickets to spare. Sujit Soman was adjudged the Man of the Match for his score of 81 runs.

    Adfactors Advertising won the last match of the group stage by 90 runs against Law and Kenneth. Major contribution from Kishor Jadhav (59 runs), Nilesh Patil (48 runs) and Sunil Patil (40 runs) took Adfactors total to 280 runs in 45 overs. Law and Kenneth batting order couldn’t survive for full quota of 45 overs and were bundled out for 190 runs in 38.2 overs. Durgesh Bhosale took 4 wickets in 29 runs. Adfactor opening batsman Kishor Jadhav was the Man of the Match.

    In one of the low scoring affairs on this last stage of the league matches, Euro RSCG team was bundled out for a mere 71 runs by strong Percept team. S. Mulla (3 wkts. for 16 runs) and Indrajeet Yadav (3 wkts. for 16 runs) of Percept were the main tormentors for Euro team. Percept reached the target of 72 runs in only 8.4 overs with 6 wickets to spare. Suresh Jadhav adjudged the man of the match.

    Ambience Publicis won the match against Contract Advertising by 25 runs. Batting first Ambience team was all out for 170 runs in 37.2 overs due to a valiant effort by Nipun Goomer who took 4 wickets in 26 runs. Contract Advertising team had a good opening stand of 70 runs between Hitesh Padmashali (50 runs) and Anil Ghodakia (25 runs). Abhay Patel (5 wickets in 24 runs) and Ramesh Arya (3 wickets in 27 runs) restricted Contract to 145 runs. Abhay Patel was the man of the match for his brilliant bowling performance.

    The match between Bates India and Vyas Giannetti Creative (VGC) was a fiercely fought one. After winning the toss, Bates India put VGC in to bat. VGC made 277 for 8 in stipulated 40 overs powered by brilliant 64 runs in only 28 balls by all rounder Vaibhav Sane. Atul Hegde (33 runs) and Niket Karvir (31 runs) also pitched in to take total to 277 runs. Bates showed bigger heart by fighting till last ball but fell short by 48 runs. Vaibhav Sane took 3 wickets in 44 runs. He was the Man of the Match.

     

    The stage is now set for the quarter finals, with most of the favourites having sealed their place, and preparations are in full swing to battle it out for the big prize. All eyes are set on the 24th of February, when only four teams will make it to the semis. Will it be the favourites or will there be a few upsets? Keep watching this space.
