    Hashtag Orange appoints P Sridharan Iyer as chief strategy officer

    Mumbai: Digital communication agency Hashtag Orange on Monday announced the appointment of P Sridharan Iyer as chief strategy officer. 

    A brand strategist and communication veteran, Iyer has been instrumental in creating immense brand wealth within a number of consumer categories for organisations. Over a journey spanning more than 25 years, he has led the execution of transformational brand strategy for a number of international and Indian brands. His last stint was with Publicis Groupe, where he worked as EVP and head of office.

    “I am really excited to welcome Sridhar into the Hashtag Orange Family,” stated Hashtag Orange founder Mukesh Vij. “He has a proven record in managing large businesses and teams and his expertise helps us drive more value for our diverse portfolios of clients.”

    An MBA in marketing from IBMR, Pune, Iyer has multiple agency experiences like Everest Advertising, TBWA Anthem, FCB Ulka, J Walter Thompson, Publicis Groupe. 

    “I am looking forward to this journey, journey entailing sharing of learnings, old and new coming together to create inspiring stories,” said P Sridharan Iyer on his new assignment.

    Mumbai: Global independent research firm RECMA has ranked Starcom India, part of Publicis Groupe India number one in new business in its ‘New Business Balance Report for 2021’. The research firm evaluates media agencies worldwide.

    The agency has gained the top position in competitive pitch wins across Consumer Products (CPG), New-Age, and App Economy which includes clients in Auto, D2C, FinTech, E-commerce, and Gaming, it announced on Monday.

    The Human Experience (HX) agency has also ranked high in its profile classification with significant 14-point growth over the last period, it added. This has been assessed on multiple parameters based on vitality (competitive pitches and momentum) and structure (resources and client profile.)

    AAAI re-elects Anupriya Acharya as president for second term

    Mumbai: Publicis Groupe CEO- South Asia Anupriya Acharya has been re-elected as president of the Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) for the year 2021-22 at the AAAI’s annual general body meeting held on 30 September.  

    Group M Media India CEO Prasanth Kumar was re-elected as vice-president of the association.

    Other elected members of the executive committee include Rana Barua (Havas Worldwide India), Mohit Joshi (Havas Media India), Kunal Lalani (Crayons Advertising), Rohan Mehta (Kinnect Media), Vivek Srivastava (Innocean Worldwide Communication).

    Immediate past president Ashish Bhasin will be the ex-officio member of the new AAAI executive committee, the association said in a statement.

    “It’s a privilege to be re-elected for another term as the president of AAAI and I thank all the AAAI members for placing their trust in me and for their strong support,” Acharya said. “This past one year, given the pandemic backdrop, our key priority has been to assist our members in navigating the challenging times. Our executive committee has been steadfast on this and despite virtual meetings, it made tremendous progress.”

    She shared that AAAI has also taken multiple initiatives to pivot to the new normal, make the association future-ready and drive inclusivity.

    “In fact, I am delighted to share that beyond creative and media, now digital agencies too are taking keen interest and are becoming full-fledged members of the Association. With the markets opening up, the EC and I look forward to driving these initiatives further,” Acharya further added.

    Formed in 1945, the AAAI is a not-for-profit industry-led and industry-managed trade association of advertising agencies. The association’s members include a large number of small, medium, and large-sized agencies, who together account for almost 80 per cent of the advertising business placed in the country.

    Mumbai: Publicis Groupe has consolidated the content production arm under Varun Shah and appointed him as executive vice president and head of Prodigious India and Content Factory India. Further strengthening the team, the organisation has elevated Akshay Multani to executive producer (EP), Prodigious and appointed Deepak Bulchandani as head of brand partnerships at Content Factory.

    Digitas India onboards Shourya Chaudhuri as senior creative director

    Mumbai: Digitas India, the global marketing and technology services brand from Publicis Groupe has brought onboard Shourya Ray Chaudhuri as senior creative director.

    Chaudhuri will be based out of Bangalore and will be responsible for strengthening and growing the creative capabilities across Bangalore and Mumbai regions. He will report to Digitas India, executive vice president and head of creative, Mark McDonald.

    He joins the agency from Tonic Worldwide where he was managing partner and creative head managing some of the key brands for over three and half years.

    Welcoming Chaudhuri on board, McDonald said, “We are thrilled to have Shourya on board as part of the creative leadership team. He brings with him not just a sharp mind and a great set of creative chops, but also an in-depth knowledge of the digital ecosystem beyond just formats and platforms.     New Delhi: Global advertising technology firm, The Trade Desk has launched operations in India, and appointed Tejinder Gill as the company’s India general manager.

    Gill will lead the company’s business and growth strategy in India, helping Indian brands and publishers unleash the full potential of the open internet where Indian consumers are increasingly spending their time.

    Rapid digitization of the media industry has provided a paradigm shift in the way Indians consume content online. In particular, content consumption on the open internet has exploded in the last 18 months. Prior to this appointment, he held the position of vice president and technology lead at Edelman, India.

    NEW DELHI: Publicis Groupe’s global marketing and technology services brand Digitas has appointed Abhishek Chaturvedi as senior vice president and head of planning. He will report to Digitas India chief operating officer Sonia Khurana.

    Chaturvedi is a seasoned advertising professional who has more than 18 years of experience managing key strategy related positions across leading advertising agencies. At Digitas India, he will play a vital role in assisting brands and businesses to leverage the agency’s comprehensive data, technology, creative, media and strategy capabilities and proprietary planning processes and effectively drive strategic growth and direction for the agency.

    Previously, Chaturvedi was with McCann Worldgroup as vice president. He held a similar profile at Ogilvy and Grey Group where he led planning for some of the leading brands across categories including Dabur, Marico, GSK, Colgate Palmolive, Voltas, BMW, Eicher, Hero Motocorp, Mahindra B2C & B2B, Wal-Mart, Max Life and some government and non-profit organisations.

    NEW DELHI: Publicis Groupe has appointed Tanmay Mohanty to the newly created role of CEO media service.

    A force for digital and data transformation throughout his career, Mohanty’s most recent four years as CEO of Zenith have been spent in expanding the Mumbai and Bengaluru footprint of the organisation, operationalising Epsilon PeopleCloud platform, helping clients pivot to a data-driven future and contributing to key new business wins like Hero MotoCorp and GSK.

    The appointment comes as part of a wider restructuring in the agency’s media services domain. Publicis is bringing together data science, programmatic and media tech along with Zenith and Starcom, under a common leadership to further strengthen focus on scaled media, real identity and data capabilities. This realignment will help expediting its media product around Epsilon PeopleCloud, Epsilon powered data services, programmatic amongst others. Sapient Razorfish, will also be part of this offering and will focus on consulting solutions around full spectrum of real identity, digital, data and media tech.

    Other key promotions have also been announced in this structure. Jai Lala will now take on the role of Zenith CEO and will continue to work with Mohanty. In his two plus years as COO for Zenith, he has been instrumental in driving excellent client relations and operational efficiencies across the board. He has also been instrumental in settling the Zenith Delhi operations.

    Sejal Shah has been elevated to the role of Publicis Media Exchange managing director and head across mainline and digital. In this capacity, she will work closely with all the Groupe agencies. She will also continue to oversee Publicis-in-Motion, the Groupe’s experiential, shopper and OOH marketing practice.
