    Lionsgate India promotes Shreya Channa as VP, people office SA & SEA

    Mumbai: Lionsgate India on Wednesday announced that Shreya Channa, who joined the firm earlier this year as VP – head of people office, to become a part of the expansion for South Asia (SA) and emerging markets of Asia. She will be reporting to Lionsgate MD Rohit Jain.

    Channa will work closely with Rohit Jain and Lionsgate global CHRO Ross Pollack who is based in the USA, to expand Lionsgate’s strategy and people operations in emerging markets of Asia, said the company in a statement.

    Channa is a seasoned HR professional with over 17 years of experience in human capital consulting, corporate HR and has advised Fortune 500 companies in India and the USA in technology and telecom, among other industries. She has held a number of senior HR positions advising executive teams.

    “At Lionsgate, we believe that people are the differentiating secret recipe and soul of an organisation, we work everyday to build a culture of creativity and continuous learning. Shreya’s acumen and expertise will help us to supercharge the next era of Lionsgate in the region,” said Rohit Jain.

    Tom Jacomb takes charge as DNEG president, animation division

    Mumbai: Animation and VFX studio DNEG on Wednesday announced the promotion of Tom Jacomb as president of the animation division.

    Previously serving as managing director, Jacomb helped launch the feature animation division at DNEG in 2014. Based in London, he has guided the growth of the team to more than 500 employees across DNEG’s animation studios in London, Los Angeles, Montréal, and Mumbai. 

    “In his new role as president, Jacomb will oversee further worldwide investment and expansion of DNEG Animation, including expansion into Vancouver and the creation of up to 100 new animation roles in the city,” said the company in a statement.

    Jacomb’s promotion is effective concurrently with the appointment of five new senior members of DNEG Animation’s team and the studio’s expanding slate of new feature film and episodic animation productions.

    Freddy Chaleur and Yancy Lindquist have joined DNEG Animation’s team of VFX supervisors, which includes Philippe Denis, Archie Donato, and Taylor Moll; animation director Jay Boose joined the team’s animation leadership group, which includes Kapil Sharma, Troy Saliba, and Dave Lowry – all led by Ted Ty. The new hires are rounded out by the head of look development Sonja Burchard and producer Audrey Ford.

    Mumbai: Homegrown media agency Madison Media on Tuesday announced that it has elevated Saif Shaikh to the position of chief operating officer (COO), Madison Media Pinnacle. The unit will house the agency’s first and leading account, Godrej Consumer Products for traditional and digital media, it said in a statement.

    Shaikh comes with an overall experience of over 19 years in strategy, planning implementation and buying, having joined Madison Media in 2017, he has led the AOR for Godrej across the company’s larger portfolios such as Godrej Consumer Products Ltd, Godrej Properties and other businesses like frozen foods and has managed media campaigns for almost 20 brands across portfolios such as hair colour, soaps, handwash, home insecticides, car and room freshener along with real estate.

    Mumbai: Portea Medical, a homegrown outside of hospital consumer healthcare company, on Monday announced the appointment of founder Meena Ganesh as chairperson and elevated Vaibhav Tewari to the position of CEO at the company.

    The new appointments have been made with an aim to further synergise and streamline Portea’s operations in the new normal, and efficiently activate the 2023 growth strategy, said the company in a statement. “Portea plans to strengthen its remote monitoring teams and technology, create hybrid offerings that best use technology and on-ground presence,” it added.

    In her new capacity, Ganesh will be building strategy, M&A, driving advocacy and relationships with stakeholders such as institutional partners, government bodies, investors and external communication. On the other hand, Tewari will be working on company growth, strategy rollout, building business, and deploying technologies.

    Tewari said that during the pandemic, the company supported COVID care through remote monitoring as well as on-ground deployment of resources, medical equipment and technology and also provided complex hospital-based procedures such as cancer care and dialysis at home. “We have created our strategic vision for 2023 with an aim to take our digital-first healthcare services to more people and territories across India. At the same time, we will use automation and other technologies to enhance the experience of people availing our services as well as our on-ground caregivers,” he said.

    Mumbai: In view of the ever-changing marketing landscape, MullenLowe Lintas Group plans to further consolidate its offering beyond strategy and creative. To this end, Naveen Gaur has been elevated as Group COO – growth and innovation, MullenLowe Lintas Group.

    Gaur’s mandate will be to strengthen the areas of marketing services that agencies within the Group offer – such as PR, digital, content creation and production, experiential, design, analytics, and MarTech. In addition to this, Gaur will also lead the marketing, reputation, and strategic growth initiatives for the Group.

    In his previous role as the deputy CEO of Lowe Lintas, he was overseeing the existing key business relationships and founding new ones. Gaur’s association with Lintas goes back to 2010 when he was branch head of Lowe Lintas Delhi where he encouraged an entrepreneurial culture of growth and business excellence. Under his leadership, the agency added large mandates that are a healthy mix of start-ups and established brands. He is also credited with deepening the agency’s relationship with Google, Pernod Ricard, Nestle, and Cargill foods.

    Prior to joining Balaji Telefilms, Jenna was associated with the ZEE network as programming head weekend for &TV. In her earlier stints, she has worked with Viacom18 and Endemol India.

    Banerjee, who joined Madison Media in 2012, has 17 years of experience in the industry. Over the last nine years, he has played a key role in Madison Media’s Mumbai office and led accounts such as Asian Paints, Abbott, and Leibherr, amongst others.

    Mumbai: Japanese electronics major Panasonic Corp on Monday announced the promotion of Manish Sharma to chairman and president of Panasonic India. In his new role, Sharma will assume responsibility for leading the Panasonic operational excellence India, and Panasonic India appliances company, lifestyle updates business division.

     earlier served as the president & CEO at Panasonic India and South Asia and he was the first Indian and the youngest leader to become an executive officer at the organisation. Joined in 2008, Sharma has been pivotal in spearheading the growth and transformation of Panasonic India from a consumer electronics company to a technology solutions company, said the company in a statement.

    Sharma had joined the organisation as a marketing lead for Panasonic’s consumer electronics and home appliances division. In 2010, he was elevated to the position of director of sales and marketing, after which he became the managing director of Panasonic India in April 2012, and in 2016, he was moved to the position of CEO of the business. Prior to Panasonic, Sharma worked with Haier, Samsung, and LG Hotline in the past.
