    Mumbai: mediasmart has elevated Nikhil Kumar to the role of vice president, India and Southeast Asia region. He was previously senior director of brand and strategy, India and SEA.

    Kumar is a marketing professional with 14 years of experience. He joined mediasmart in November 2020. He was previously associated with Bytedance as business head – global business solutions. His prior stints include InMobi as director brand strategy and industry head CPG and AlcoBev, Housejoy as head of marketing, Puma India and SEA as senior marketing manager and L’Oreal.

    He is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow.

    Endemol Shine India promotes Anaya Mohanty to top creative role

    Mumbai: Endemol Shine India on Wednesday announced the promotion of Anaya Mohanty into the role of head of development for premium scripted and non-scripted, reporting directly to Endemol Shine India CEO Abhishek Rege.

    Previously the business’ creative director for premium scripted development, Mohanty was responsible for managing talent acquisition, internal development, and creative supervision. Now expanding her remit, she will oversee premium scripted and non-scripted development, with the view to identifying new projects to take to market. 

    Under scripted, she will supervise the concept pipeline, service platforms for projects in development and will coordinate with co-producers, outlets, and various entities to create, package, and produce shows. While on the non-scripted front, she will support the development of homegrown ideas and IP, while targeting TV Networks and OTT platforms with titles that have the potential to resonate with their relevant audiences.

    “Given Anaya’s experience, I have no doubt she will thrive in this role. In her new capacity, she will play a key role in ensuring we devise and execute a standout premium slate, which garners attention from our network and OTT clients across the county,” stated Abhishek Rege. “Quality has always been key to our strategy and in setting this new role, we will continue to commit to delivering in line with this goal.”   

    A skilled leader with a master’s in mass communication and media studies from Jamia Millia Islamia, Mohanty has almost two decades of experience in the creative field. Prior to joining Endemol Shine India, she worked with Colour Yellow Productions Pvt Ltd, Eros Now, and CNBC-TV18. She has also worked as a creative consultant, writer, and senior producer on multiple projects.

    “I am honoured to be taking on this new role, which presents a hugely exciting opportunity to have strategic oversight of our entire premium development pipeline,” said Mohanty on her promotion. “Universal themes have always been at the heart of all our shows and ensuring our titles remain relatable for diverse audiences is key.     Mumbai: The Walt Disney Company has elevated Kaumudi Mahajan to the role of SVP – marketing and strategy for Marathi network.

    She has been associated with the media conglomerate for more than 13 years. In her previous role as vice president – head of marketing and content strategy for Star Pravah, she was responsible for the P&L, viewer engagement both above and below the line, driving availability of the channel in consumer homes and programming strategy.

    A post-graduate in marketing and communications from MICA, Mahajan has also worked as a programmer analyst with Syntel in the past.

    Mumbai: Surya Roshni, a steel pipes, lighting and consumer durables company has announced the appointment of Vinay Surya, the whole time director as managing director, effective from 26 October.

    Surya has done an MBA from Swinburne University, Australia, and has contributed majorly to the vision and strategy of the company. With his long-term vision, hard work, and dedication he was responsible for starting the steel pipe exports globally, said the company in a statement on Tuesday.

    Fujifilm India elevates Arun Babu to new role

    Mumbai: Fujifilm India Pvt Ltd, a global player in camera and imaging technologies, has announced the elevation of Arun Babu from general manager, EID & optical device to the head of division – electronic imaging, optical devices, and Instax division. The elevation will come into effect on 11 October.

    In his new role, Babu will be responsible for the general management of all the three divisions and looking after the end-to-end operations of the combined divisions, said the company in a statement.

    As he takes on this new role, Fujifilm India is hopeful to further establish itself in the Indian photographic industry and strengthen its commitment towards delivering world-class innovative camera products, it added.

    “Under the leadership of Arun Babu, our camera division has witnessed tremendous growth over the years. In this new role, he will be looking after our complete camera offerings and scale the business to new heights,” said Fujifilm India MD Koji Wada, welcoming Babu on board.

    Babu had joined Fujifilm India in May 2018 and since then has been responsible for the growth and success of Fujifilm cameras in India. In the past, he has been associated with companies like Sony and Videocon.

    A post-graduate in business administration from IMSCD&R Pune University, he has more than 18 years of experience working in the industry in various roles.

    “Instax cameras and accessories have been doing extremely well with the audiences in the past. The cameras have been performing well with the youth and I hope that I am able to take this growth to the next level,” said Babu on his new role.

    Xaxis elevates Dimpy Yadav to general manager, India

    Mumbai: Xaxis, GroupM’s outcome media specialist, on Thursday announced the elevation of Dimpy Yadav as general manager of Xaxis India. She will be based out of Gurugram and will report to GroupM India president of data, performance, and digital products Atique Kazi.

    In this new role, Yadav will be responsible for leading the agency and its clients through India’s rapidly growing digital media landscape. This includes an online retail market that is expected to triple its volume over the next five years, stated the agency.

    According to a statement, she will focus on three main areas of strategic development: Integration, Intelligence, and Innovation. This will include the continued development of advanced, omnichannel digital media solutions optimised with data and artificial intelligence technology to help brands earn valuable business outcomes.

    Mahesh Kanchan takes charge as FieldFresh Foods CEO

    Mumbai: FieldFresh Foods, a joint venture between Bharti Enterprises & Del Monte Pacific Ltd, on Monday announced the elevation of Mahesh Kanchan to the role of chief executive officer (CEO), with effect from 1 October.  

    In his new role, Kanchan will be focusing on further strengthening the Del Monte brand, the product portfolio, and the distribution network to cater to the emerging needs of the consumer, said the company in a statement. 

    “On behalf of the board of directors, I would like to congratulate Mahesh on his elevation and wish him the very best for his new role. I am confident that under his leadership FieldFresh Foods will prosper into a leading next-generation consumer products company,” said Bharti Enterprises vice-chairman and FieldFresh Foods chairman Rakesh Bharti Mittal.

    Kanchan, who previously served as chief commercial officer with FieldFresh Foods, takes over from Yogesh Bellani who has decided to pursue opportunities outside of the company.

    Kanchan, who has over two decades of experience in the FMCG space, joined FieldFresh Foods in 2020. He has played a pivotal role in creating growth opportunities for the Del Monte brand in the B2C segment as well as navigating the business during the pandemic.

    BC Patnaik takes charge as MD of LIC

    Mumbai: Life Insurance Corp (LIC) of India on Friday elevated BC Patnaik to the rank of managing director. He was appointed as managing director vide government of India notification on 5 July, LIC said in a statement.

    Patnaik joined LIC of India in March 1986 as a direct recruit officer. In a career span of over three decades in the organisation, Patnaik has occupied important positions and made his mark in the areas of marketing, new business, personnel, pension and group savings, and customer relationship management. 

    He has served as regional manager (marketing), western zonal office covering states of Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa. He also worked as regional manager (CRM), North Central zone and regional manager (Bancassurance) in the Eastern zone. He was senior divisional manager in charge of the Jamshedpur and Berhampur divisions of LIC of India.

    Prior to this role, Patnaik was Council for Insurance Ombudsmen (CIO) Mumbai’s secretary-general. Before joining CIO, he was director at Zonal Training Centre, North Central Zone, Agra.

    Mumbai: Kia India on Friday announced that its executive director and chief sales and business strategy officer Tae-Jin Park will assume the role of Kia India managing director and chief executive officer, with effect from 4 October. Park will succeed Kookhyun Shim who played a crucial role in introducing the Kia brand in India, it said.

    In his new role, Park will be responsible for the company’s growth and market expansion in the country. He will lead the India operations and directly oversee the entire manufacturing, product strategy and development, business planning, and sales. He has been associated with Kia India since January 2020. “It is my honour and absolute privilege to lead India operations and take the Kia story in the country forward, building upon the strong foundation laid by Shim,” Park said.

    In his illustrious career spanning over three decades, Park has gained immense knowledge of global business environment and his expertise lies in penetrating new markets. He said India is a strategic market for Kia and has the potential to foster growth for the brand globally. “In our short journey in India so far, we have achieved many milestones and these achievements are a testament to our commitment to bringing a revolution in the auto industry by making a difference across the entire auto ecosystem,” he added.

    Prior to his association with Kia India, he served at the headquarters of Kia Corp as head of operations for the Middle East, Africa, and Asia based in Seoul, South Korea. He has also served at Kia Mexico as chief sales officer. He has been associated with Kia Corp since 1987.

    “Our ambitious targets will not only challenge us but will also help us establish India as an important sales, production, and research & development hub for Kia,” Park said.

    Roopam Garg elevated to CEO of dentsu X India

    Mumbai: Dentsu India has elevated Roopam Garg to the role of dentsu X (dX) India CEO, effective immediately. He will continue to report to CEO for media South Asia Divya Karani.

    Garg, who has been in the role of chief operating officer (COO) of dX India for five years, will now lead the media agency and accelerate its growth, said the agency in a statement.

    “We are living in exciting times, with many new progress prospects ahead of us. I am confident that under Roopam’s leadership and his intuitive ability to assemble highly motivated teams, the best days are yet to come,” said Divya Karani.

    During his role as COO, Garg played a key role in accelerating dentsu X’s growth. He brings over two decades of experience in communication/media holding senior leadership roles spanning across five regions/markets India, MENA, China, Vietnam and London. Prior to this, he has held senior leadership roles as Publicis Groupe Vietnam managing director of and ZenithOptimedia Group India COO.

    In his new role as CEO, Garg will be responsible for carrying forward the learnings of seamless integrated consumer and brand interaction to drive holistic communication planning for clients’ businesses. Aligned with the global plan of transforming into the world’s most integrated group by 2024, dX India’s growth story will further accelerate dentsu India 2.0.
