    Hailed as indian media’s highest creative honour, Promaxbda awards celebrate

    MUMBAI: PromaxBDA, the leading international association that honours excellence in marketing, design and promotions kicked off the 2018 awards by announcing Memory Makers as this year’s theme.

    PromaxBDA, Country Head (India, Hong Kong and Phillipines), Rajika Mittra said, “This year’s theme Memory Makers is dedicated to our audience, the content creators and their journey to create traces of intangible consciousness around them. Technology evolves every minute but  ideas and creativity remain ours, and we are the architects that build and shape the memories of our audiences.”

    Speaking about this year’s theme, Promax India Conference Chair and COO Viacom 18 Media Pvt. Ltd., Mr Raj Nayak said, “As content creators we are constantly challenged as Television has morphed into a multitude of portable devices. The future’s technological trends remain unpredictable and endless possibilities may unfold. But we create content that that will be remembered down the road and not fade with time. We are not a sausage machine, we are the memory makers.” 

    PromaxBDA has always been at the forefront of innovation and therefore last year, it rolled out new categories including Best Branded Content Promotion and Best Online/VOD Service Promo. 

    While PromaxBDA Awards 2018 is yet to announce its speakers, the line- up promises to host the Global Television and Digital industry’s top brass. Like each year, this time PromaxBDA India conference will push the envelope by being the only ones to bring creative professionals together to discuss future trends and challenges facing the Television and Broadcast Industry. In addition to the conference, the awards will felicitate different professionals and organizations across segments through a wide range of categories.  

    PromaxBDA represents more than 10000 companies and promotion and marketing professionals at almost every major media organization. 

    Rajika Mittra, in speaking about the contribution PromaxBDA has made to the industry said, “Each year, we keep building the Promax community through experiences and engagement. We are proud to say that the dedicated workshops/boot camps that we started 2 years ago have helped develop and produce fantastic work from companies.

    This year, we hope to bring in more disrupters who’ve changed the rules of the game across platforms.”

  • MTV gets 10 of the total haul of 18 PromaxBDA awards by Viacom18

    MUMBAI: Viacom 18 Media has bagged 18 awards across categories at the recently concluded PromaxBDA India 2017 Awards, all the awards going to those conceptualized and produced in-house.

    MTV turned out to be the contributor with a total of 10 awards being scooped up by its creative team alone. Viacom18’s brands COLORS, MTV, Vh1, Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, Rishtey Cineplex and COLORS MARATHI brought in a total of nine golds and nine silvers for excellence in various creative campaigns.

    PromaxBDA, which gives awards for marketing excellence in the media marketing space, represents more than 10,000 companies and individuals at every major media organization, marketing agency, research company, strategic and creative vendor and technology provider and is considered to be the leading global resource for education, community, creative inspiration and career development in the media and media marketing sectors. The awards ceremony was held in Mumbai on 18 May 2017.

  • Promax & TSBI create quirky campaign

    MUMBAI: Promax has brought on board, Digital first branding agency, The Small Big Idea (TSBI), to partner with them for the upcoming awards ceremony. TSBI recently kickstarted with an innovative social media campaign to announce the key note speaker for the event.

    Conceptualized as ‘#IndustryInsults’, the campaign aims to introduce Mr Bingo, infamous for sending hate emails, in an innovative and quirky manner creating the much desired intrigue on this addressal at the event. The campaign will acquaint consumers to ‘Mr. Bingo’ in a style that’s today benchmarked by his own witty illustrated insults.

    “We have been partnering and participating in Promax for many years, and Mr. Bingo is certainly one of the most unique speakers the event has witnessed. His style fits in naturally to our palette. Through this campaign, we have tried to do justice to Mr. Bingo’s quirky ways and we are sure that our messages will be well received by the industry insiders.     Zee Classic wins Gold at PromaxBDA India

    MUMBAI: Zee Classic, which endeavours to revive nostalgia with its core brand proposition of ‘Woh Zamaana Kare Deewana’, won the Gold Award at Promax in the category of Best Out-Of-House Station Image Campaign.  The campaign was about repositioning the channel’s brand promise –‘Woh Zamaana Kare Deewana’ – through an innovatively made corporate film.

    Zee Classic, with its unique positioning has always intended to bring home the timeless magic of classic Hindi cinema. This win comes in the wake of an innovative and intriguing brand film that was created by the channel to re-position itself amongst its target audience. The brand film highlights the indelible impact that classic movies have on people. Amidst the strenuous monotony of a busy life, these films have made a mark due to their ability to leave viewers with a smile on their faces. The brand film aimed at creating a connect between audiences and the golden years of Hindi cinema, a philosophy that the channel strongly embodies in all its offerings.

    MUMBAI:  Zindagi has not only been winning the hearts of its viewers across the country but also winning awards for its unique marketing campaigns. At the recently held PromaxBDA Awards, that recognises excellence in on-air promotion, branding and advertising, Zindagi won two prominent awards. The channel won a Gold for Best Drama Promo for Kitni Girhain Baaki Hain and Silver for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign (Out-of-House) for their first original fiction show Bhaage Re Mann (BRM)

    The special promo that got the coveted PromaxBDA Gold for Best Drama Promo was designed by Zindagi for their show Kitni Girhain Baaki Hain to showcase the various issues faced by women. The show, a series of telefilms based on real life situations addressing issues related to women was one of the flagship shows with which the channel was launched.

    The campaign which won Silver for Best Integrated Marketing Campaign (Out-of-House) was executed by the channel for Bhaage Re Mann, their 1st original fiction show, to introduce the show to the target audience. To create buzz around the show, the main protagonist Padmni’s unique quality of diving straight into a problem & providing solution without overstating the obvious was used to deliver hard hitting social messages. The outdoor campaign was used to create awareness on social issues like Road Safety, Washroom Etiquettes, Pollution, Inflation and Dangers of Rail Tracks Crossing.  Similar contextual messages were also used in Train Audio Spots, Radio and Retail Outlets. The campaign was a success with the show opening at a 45% higher reach.

    The prestigious PromaxBDA awards recognises the very best work produced by the industry to get a programming, channel or brand noticed. The Awards are open to Satellite, Cable, Broadcast Television, Radio Station and associated new media, their agencies and production houses and are judged basis message effectiveness, overall creativity and originality of concept.

    PromaxBDA announces its 13 edition of annual conference

    MUMBAI: PromaxBDA, the association that represents more than 10,000 companies and promotion & marketing professionals at every major media organization has announced the 13th edition of its annual conference PromaxBDA India 2016. Joining the most prestigious awards for creative endeavour in the media marketing space, Rob Middleton, Graeme Newell & Fiona King, the world renowned market visionaries will be holding workshops at the conference. Like every year, PromaxBDA is encouraging marketing professionals to send in their best work, which stands a chance of being recognized at the PromaxBDA Awards in the midst of the best in the business. PromaxBDA Boot Camp is slated to take place on 11 May at Indian School of Design & Innovation whereas Master Class is scheduled for 12 May at The Westin, Mumbai.

    The event will witness a lineup of workshops such as Branding Workshop: Best Practices for Recruiting New Viewers by Graeme Newell, a consultant and thought leader on emotional marketing. The second on the list is Promo Workshop: What the hell am I doing? By Rob Middleton, who is a regular speaker at our PromaxBDA conferences. The learning from these workshops will include learning the critical steps for making one’s brand irresistible to new customers, specific strategies behind some of television’s most successful viewer expansions, to learning how to develop hypothetical new media brands, delving deeper into what makes a brand a success.

This year we have marked a 25% increase in our call for award entries than last year.
