    Jiostar strikes gold at Gema India with 32 wins across categories

    MUMBAI: Jiostar didn’t just shine at this year’s Gema India Awards, it glittered. The entertainment marketing giant bagged an impressive 32 metals, including 15 golds and 17 silvers, making it one of the night’s biggest winners.

    The victories cut across every corner of the creative spectrum, from promos and video campaigns to craft, design, social media and branded partnerships. Whether it was MTV Beats’ cheeky Jassi and Rinku promo, the stylish Diwali Diya animations, or the thought-provoking One for Change series, Jiostar proved it could deliver work that entertains, inspires, and breaks the clutter.

    Formerly known as Promax, the global entertainment marketing academy of arts & sciences (Gema) has been celebrating cutting-edge TV and streaming marketing for 60 years. Winning at Gema is regarded as one of the highest accolades in entertainment marketing, and Jiostar’s haul cements its reputation as a creative powerhouse.

    “These awards underscore the firepower of our teams and JioStar’s leadership in entertainment marketing,” said a Jiostar spokesperson. “It is a strong testament to our ability to set new benchmarks and shape the future of entertainment storytelling.”

    From scripting (Showtime: kjo’s biopic) and sound design (Thunder thighs film festival) to bold key visuals (Lootere) and heartfelt social good campaigns, JioStar walked away with recognition across the board.

    Zee Media hires Aditya Tandon as chief brand officer

    MUMBAI: Zee Media has picked Aditya Tandon as its new chief brand officer for campaigns & intellectual properties, effective 15 January  2025. The decision follows a recommendation from the company’s nomination and remuneration committee. Zee Media informed the Bombay stock exchange about his hiring as he is classified amongst the senior management  personnel in the company.

    Aditya brings over 25 years of extensive experience in marketing and brand management across multiple regions, including India, Nepal, Mauritius, and Canada. His career spans various industries, including media, telecom, and web services. He is recognised for his proficiency in brand building and has effectively executed numerous launch and re-launch initiatives. His innovative strategies often include technological and digital interventions, contributing to impactful marketing campaigns.

    Throughout his career, Aditya has received over 100 awards at prestigious forums like the Asian Television Awards and Promax for his communication and promotional efforts. He has also served as a speaker at various industry platforms, sharing his insights on brand strategy and marketing trends.

    Aditya  holds a bachelor of arts (Hons) from Delhi University, a postgraduate diploma in international marketing from the Delhi School of Economics, and a master’s degree in management studies from Carleton University, Canada.

    Prior to this role, he served as vice-president of brand marketing at Network18 Media & Investments, where he was responsible for marketing the company’s Hindi news cluster, significantly boosting brand performance post re-launches. His notable contributions include the rebranding of CNN-News18 and several award-winning campaigns that have established him as a leading figure in the marketing domain.

    Mumbai: Promax India is back with its 20th edition of Promax India Conference and Awards 2022 to be held in Mumbai on the 10-11 August, 2022 with workshops, sessions, one-to-one engagement with the speakers and honouring the best at the most awaited Promax India Awards 2022.

    Amazon Prime Video India head Aparna Purohit is the Awards Chair for this year.

    For Promax India, this year marks a milestone as it completes 20 remarkable years of honouring the best brands for their creativity, innovation, and storytelling. The coveted Promax India Awards introduced new additions this year. Some of the new categories include Best Static Image, Best Voice-Over Performance, and Best Social Media Content.

    Additionally, brands will also compete for The Creative Brand of the Year category.

    Some of the best minds in the industry will be hosting workshops titled, “The New Promo 10 Commandments” with the popular Rob Middleton, mentor-holding little promotions and marketing hands all across Asia for almost three decades now.

    The essential masterclass session for all broadcast marketing professionals—whether new to writing briefs or looking for time-saving tips and hacks—is being presented by The Brief Doctor: Tim Hughes. His session explains how to maximise creative output by focussing on audience needs and business goals by setting a simple and effective creative strategy and managing through stakeholders.

    Some of the sessions to look out for are by well-known speakers – Trailer Voice Artists Agency owner Brent Hagel, Lee Hunt LLC founder Lee Hunt, Comedy Central voiceover artist Rahul Mulani, FX Network EVP marketing and on-air Stephanie Gibbons.

  • Promax & TSBI create quirky campaign

    MUMBAI: Promax has brought on board, Digital first branding agency, The Small Big Idea (TSBI), to partner with them for the upcoming awards ceremony. TSBI recently kickstarted with an innovative social media campaign to announce the key note speaker for the event.

    Conceptualized as ‘#IndustryInsults’, the campaign aims to introduce Mr Bingo, infamous for sending hate emails, in an innovative and quirky manner creating the much desired intrigue on this addressal at the event. The campaign will acquaint consumers to ‘Mr. Bingo’ in a style that’s today benchmarked by his own witty illustrated insults.
