SonyLIV onboards four sponsors for India-Australia series

KOLKATA: Since its rebranding, the India tour of Australia is the first major sporting event to be aired on SonyLIV. While the digital arm of Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) created quite a buzz on the back of its original content, it’s continuing to promote all its tentpole properties aggressively. Following the same route of marketing for Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, SonyLIV has chosen The Times of India (TOI) front page for advertising the India-Australia series.

The ad published on TOI mentions four sponsors – WinZo and McDowell’s No1 as co-powered sponsors, IIFL Finance and MUTUAL FUNDS Sahi Hai as segment partners. It also promotes upcoming shows like Sandwiched Forever, Gullak 2, College Romance Season 2, Girls hostel 2.0, along with other promotional content. Along with print, SonyLIV is actively pushing the sports event on its social media handles as well.

The two-month long India tour of Australia comprising a three-match ODI series, followed by a three-match T20 series and a four-match Test series has started streaming on 27 November. This is India’s first international tour after nine months post the global Covid2019 pandemic lockdown; India last played New Zealand in February 2020. However, it will be available for premium subscribers only.

    BedBathMore.com repositions; launches new look

MUMBAI: Home community platform BedBathMore.com has repositioned itself with a new consumer offering. Along with the new site, the company has also got a new brand identity.

BedBathMore.com had recently acqui-hired Homado and Crude Area, with the aim of building a holistic environment, which moves beyond commerce and focuses on building content and community too.

The creative idea for the campaign is built on the idea – ‘You Change. So should your home’. It represents the change people undergo as they progress through different stages of life and how it’s reflected in their choices of home decor.

BBH India has executed the entire campaign by designing an innovative and interactive print campaign. The ad is made of two halves depicting the life of an individual told through the home. The ad has one half depicting a ‘before marriage’ home and the other a ‘after marriage’ one.

Ambigram has been used for the campaign which reads differently depending on how readers hold the paper. While one orientation reveals the word as love, turning the paper around changes the same word to ‘can’t’. The copy reads: ‘Can’t see myself getting married.’ Turning the ad around, the copy reads ‘Love being married.’

BedBathMore.com founder and managing director Amit Dalmia said, “The intention with our renewed proposition is to enable social and discovery commerce and more importantly to provide a platform that enables collaboration between like minded home owners and experts alike. In totality it empowers users to find everything they would need or aspire to have in their homes through the changing phases of their lives. The ad campaign represents the very same sentiment in a very interesting manner using an ambigram and visuals which are reflective of changes that we experience as we transition through our everyday life.”

BBH India CCO and managing partner Russell Barrett added, “Very often print is used as a reminder and is the poor cousin of the preferred film. So it’s great to be able to crack and execute an idea especially for print. Great craft and a well executed ad only happens when you have a brilliant team working on it, both in the agency and on the clients side too.”

BedBathMore.com will soon come out with the next leg of the print campaign, followed by OOH, BTL and radio activations.

Dainik Bhaskars eco-friendly initiative Mitti Ke Ganesh receives overwhelming response across India

Dainik Bhaskar’s new eco-friendly initiative ‘Mitti Ke Ganesh’ has received an overwhelming response from its readers across the country.

During the just concluded Ganesh Utsav, through this environment friendly campaign readers were appealed to bring home Lord Ganesha’s idols made only of clay. This activity was intended to motivate people to not bring idols made of plaster of paris, which after immersion contaminates our water resources. Dainik Bhaskar readers were also urged to not immerse idols in local natural water bodies. They were encouraged to conduct immersions at their respective homes in a water container, and use this water to water their gardens or flower pots at home.

This was a Pan-India editorial and print campaign, covering 13 states and reaching more than 4.41 crore people.

Commenting on the success of this initiative, Mr. Prashant Kalyani, VP, Brand Marketing (National), Dainik Bhaskar Group said, “The Dainik Bhaskar Group has always taken the lead in social initiatives that contribute towards positive changes in our daily lives. In line with this tradition this year we launched the ‘Mitti Ke Ganesh’ campaign during the immensely popular “Ganesh Utsav” festivities. Religious leaders of various sects also joined this initiative and supported the cause. To further augment this message Dainik Bhaskar through its editions carried thoughts of these religious leaders explaining the merits of ‘Mitti ke Ganesh’.

This initiative not only enabled us to contribute towards protection of our environment, but also ensured that religious sentiments of people are duly respected. We are glad that we were successful in motivating people and the initiative received a overwhelming positive response from all sections of society.”
