    Mumbai: Prime Video, India’s most popular video streaming service, and its long-term agency partner PivotRoots – a Havas company collaborated to shine a spotlight on the OTT platform’s impressive content gallery by creating more than 500 hyperlocal promos using Google’s Ads Creative Studio (previously, Director Mix) for contextual user experiences.

    PivotRoots amplified the reach of the campaign through Google’s comprehensive advertising tool that was deployed to conceptualize and produce over 500 custom promos across YouTube and Meta. These hyperlocal promos were tailored to the user’s location by incorporating, among other parameters, references to famous local landmarks like Juhu, Bandstand and Carter Road in Mumbai, Jal Mahal in Jaipur, Taj Mahal in Agra, Japanese Garden and Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad and Sion City in Kolkata, to add a personalised touch. For instance, a user targeted in Mumbai’s Bandra would receive a creative referencing ‘Carter Road’ to make it contextually relevant to that user.

    The objective was to encourage users to indulge in the captivating world of movies and web shows that everyone is talking about. Elaborating on the relevance of hyperlocal campaigning in the current digital landscape, PivotRoots director – media Jinit Shah said, “Audiences are increasingly seeking personalised experiences. We delivered this with hyperlocal ads to every user who had seen the brand film, hence tying back to the theme of the campaign (Everyone’s Talking Prime), leaving users intrigued and with a sense of delight. “

    Mumbai: Prime Video, India’s most loved entertainment destination, has earned a nomination in the ‘Outstanding Documentary’ category at the prestigious GLAAD Media Awards for Rainbow Rishta, its unscripted Original series that explores the theme of queer love. This historic nomination marks the first time an Indian unscripted series on queer-love is being acknowledged at this prestigious award. The GLAAD Media Awards, founded in 1990, are recognized as the most prominent annual LGBTQ awards show in the world, sending powerful messages of acceptance to audiences worldwide. The ceremonies for the 35th Annual GLAAD Media Awards will be held in Los Angeles on March 14, 2024, and in New York City on May 11, 2024.

    Rainbow Rishta, which premiered on Prime Video in November 2023, is a first-of-its-kind series for any Indian streaming service that beautifully encapsulates six real-life love stories and experiences of members from the LGBTQIA+ community from India who move mountains to make their seemingly impossible dreams come true. The six narratives weave a vibrant tapestry, encompassing a range of stories such as vow exchanging ceremony between a doting couple, the dilemma of a 30 year old drag queen navigating their first date, the challenges faced by a young lesbian couple in Assam in search of a home, the story of a solitary man hoping to find love again, a doctor/ actor’s tryst of evading the world of casual dating, and a couple embarking on an adventurous road trip to Hampi to test the waters. Amusing, endearing, motivational, and innovative, these narratives are intricately linked through a common theme – the profound expression of love.     Ormax report: Prime Video’s Bawaal is the most-watched direct-to-OTT Hindi film of 2023

    Mumbai: Ormax media has released the annual version of their report ‘Streaming Originals in India: The 2023 Story’.

    Since 2018-19, Ormax Media has compiled extensive industry data for India’s growing streaming category. Their report, focusing solely on original content, analyses the top shows and films of 2023 in Hindi and International languages. It evaluates them based on viewership, marketing buzz, and content strength. Please note that this report excludes ‘non-original’ streaming content like theatrical films, catch-up television, sports, etc.

    Farzi is the only show to cross the 30 mn viewership mark in 2023 and is now the most-watched SVOD series in India of all time. Both Prime Video and Disney+ Hotstar have six shows in the top 15 list. Two AVOD shows from JioCinema, i.e., Asur 2 & Taali, feature in the top five most-watched shows of the year.

    The top 10 list has a healthy mix of sub-genres (TV show extensions, documentaries, task-based reality competitions, etc.), indicating that the non-fiction category now has significantly more width on OTT than a year or two ago.

    Prime Video’s Bawaal is the most-watched direct-to-OTT Hindi film of 2023, followed by JioCinema’s Bloody Daddy. Netflix features strongly on this list, with six films on the platform crossing the nine million viewership mark.

    Citadel, aided by Priyanka Chopra’s presence, is the most-watched International show of 2023, ahead of the rest of the pack by more than 50 per cent. Every other entry in this list, except Citadel, is a franchise show or brand extension.

    Extraction 2 and Heart Of Stone, both on Netflix, are the only two International films to cross the eight million viewership mark. Two documentary films feature in the top 10 most-watched International films of 2023, both based on the Korean band BTS.

    Farzi (Prime Video) generated the maximum Buzz, followed by S2 of Asur (JioCinema). Only three out of the top 15 ‘buzzing’ shows are franchise shows in 2023 (unlike nine shows in 2022).

    Films featuring theatrical stars dominate the list. Seven out the top 10 films of 2023 on Buzz are from Netflix.

    Only four International properties managed to touch the 15 per cent mark on Buzz in 2023. Seven properties on this list are from Netflix, indicating the strength of their international slate compared to other platforms.

    Asur 2 (JioCinema) is the most-liked Hindi series of 2023. Farzi (Prime Video) and The Railway Men (Netflix) are the only other shows to cross the 70-mark on OPR in 2023.

    Mission Majnu (Netflix), followed closely by Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai (ZEE5), is the most-liked direct-to-OTT film of 2023.

    Except for Money Heist (S4 & S5), Loki S2 is the second most-liked International show till date (since the start of tracking in 2020). The top 10 list features shows from a variety of genres and languages.

    Extraction 2 emerged as a break-out success in terms of its audience likeability, being the only International direct-to-OTT film to cross the 75 mark, 10 points higher than the second position on the list.

Directed by Saurabh Shukla, and produced by Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani, and  Nikkhil Advani,  under the banner of Emmay Entertainment, the comedy-drama features Jitendra Kumar, Shriya Pilgaonkar, and Annu Kapoor in pivotal roles.

    The film is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video in India and across more than 240 countries and territories worldwide on 22 December. Dry Day is a story of an imperfect hero who challenges societal conventions, rebelling against norms out of love for his unborn child.     Mumbai: Prime Video has announced the premiere of its original reality series Mission Start Ab. The first-of-its-kind competitive series will focus on grassroots entrepreneurs in India, and take their stories of determination, resilience and unwavering perseverance to global audiences in 240+ countries and territories with its worldwide premiere on the service on 19 December. The series has been conceptualized and developed in collaboration with the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India, with the objective of discovering entrepreneurs from diverse corners of India, and empowering them to create the next potential Unicorns. The series features three of India’s most knowledgeable and experienced investors—Kunal Bahl (Snapdeal and Titan Capital), Anisha Singh (She Capital), and Manish Chowdhary (Wow Skin Science)—who not only act as judges and investors, but also step in as mentors to guide and nurture contestants to sharpen the skills needed to scale their startups.
