    Mumbai: With Goafest 2024 heading towards celebrating the last leg of adaptability, Day 3 will witness an enthralling Knowledge Seminar titled The Art Of Adaptability: From Real Life to Reel Life, featuring Indian actor Manoj Bajpayee in conversation with Prasoon Joshi, CEO and CCO of McCann World Group India. The engaging session will witness Manoj share insights into the art of adaptation, drawing parallels between his experiences in real and reel life.     Marvel’s Wastelanders is the first collaboration between Audible and Marvel Entertainment and will be released simultaneously in French, German, Hindi, Italian and Japanese in the respective countries as a global audio experience with top-quality production, featuring renowned and high-profile actors in the roles of Marvel’s legendary Super Heroes.

    More information on the cast and premiere dates for subsequent seasons of the Marvel’s Wastelanders series, including Wolverine, Doom, and Marvel’s Wastelanders, will be announced at a later date. The six-season audio epic originally launched as an English language series in June 2021.

    The English language version of Marvel’s Wastelanders: Black Widow was written by Alex Delyle (Fear the Walking Dead), directed by Timothy Busfield (Thirtysomething, The West Wing), with sound design and original music by Daniel Brunelle (The Two Princes, Sandra).

    Plot: Almost thirty years after The Day the Villains Won (aka V-Day), Helen Black (Kareena Kapoor Khan) arrives at her new apartment in The Onar, a 161-story apartment complex in what used to be Midtown Manhattan. Owned and operated by the U.S. American Secret Service S.H.I.E.L.D., The Onar has become the very embodiment of the dystopic wealth and inequality that’s engulfed New York City ever since V-Day. A collection of uber-rich families – including the media magnate Burge family – occupy the opulent penthouses in the DecaDomes, The Onar’s highest ten stories. Helen Black’s apartment is located in the much humbler ‘100 Block’. When her nosy neighbour Dr Brian Mizuno asks Helen (through the paper-thin walls) what brought her here, she cryptically alludes to “problems with an ex…”.

    On the same day that Helen moves into her apartment, Lisa Cartwright reports for her first day as a Junior Residential Security Analyst for Panopticog Solutions, a private security company hired by S.H.I.E.L.D. to monitor the residents of The Onar (without their knowledge or consent). Lisa is assigned to survey Helen’s corner of the 100 Block and quickly discovers that Helen Black is not at all who she says she is.

    Mumbai: OTT platform Netflix has announced that the second season of Mismatched will launch on 14 October.

    The web-series traces all the hallmarks of a coming-of-age show, tackling relationship feuds and the many moods that come with being young, driven and in love as Dimple, Rishi and their peers struggle to navigate through these new-found complexities. Dialling up the relatability and the deja-vu, everyone’s favourite students (and their professor) are coming back real soon.

    Netflix added that since the success of the first season, the series has had many fans asking whether their favourite young couple would find their way back to each other. In a unique teaser, we get to see Dimple and Rishi reunite on screen, only for visible tension to take over. Amidst the arguing, the camera pans out and we see possible new partners. Will Rishi and Dimple achieve #CoupleGoals this year, or will new love interests derail them?

    MUMBAI: It’s champagne-popping time at One Digital. For both COO and cofounder Gurpreet  Singh and One Digital talent Prajakta Koli otherwise known as Mostly Sane.   For starters, a  short film starring her is to be screened in a prestigious New York festival in mid-June. Twelve days later, when the forty-eighth daytime Emmy Awards show is telecast  on Paramount+ it will become clear whether the Emmy-nominated  YouTube Original documentary  2020 Creators for Change  will hold aloft the shiny globe carrying golden lady. 

     

    The documentary features former First Lady Michelle Obama in conversation with Prajakta, Liza Koshy and Thembe Mahlaba and tracks the experiences of adolescent girls in Vietnam, India, and Namibia overcoming adversity to pursue their education. Prior to her rendezvous with Michelle Obama, Prajakta had travelled to Lucknow and interacted with the students of Prerna Foundation to get a better perspective on the challenges of education in smaller districts and towns of India.

     

     

    Aside from this massive feat, her maiden acting innings will be recognised globally with her short film, Khayali Pulao, being screened at north America’s oldest and most prestigious Indian film festival, the New York Indian Film Festival which will be held from 4 June  to 13 June 2021. The film, produced by One Digital Entertainment, revolves around a 17-year-old small town girl’s attempt to get into the local girl’s handball team. The film navigates between her struggles as an amateur handball enthusiast to her triumph in breaking ancient stereotypes and traditional archetypes associated with womenfolk. With grassroot-level girl empowerment forming the crux of the narrative, the film which has won critical acclaim subjectively touched upon themes like inevitability of freedom of choice, banishment of archaic prejudices and importance of street hustle.

    With over 6.1 million subscribers on YouTube and over 3.7 million followers on Instagram, MostlySane is a household name acknowledged for narrating relatable comic skits that have a strong connect with viewers.  Known for being an active campaigner for socially relevant youth centric issues, she tackled subjects such as body image and online bullying with “Shameless” as part of her campaign #iPledgeToBeMe which she launched on World Mental Health Day in 2016.

     

    Being a global ambassador for YouTube’s Creators For Change, she threw light on trolling, female subjugation and homophobia through No Offence which was showcased on International Tolerance Day at the United Nations headquarters in New York. In 2018 Prajakta was seen in WhatsApp’s first ever TVC which addressed the importance of not spreading fake news. Later in the same year she partnered with YouTube for Social Impact Girl’s Education campaign, with Instagram on their Safer Internet Week campaign and One.org for their Girl Education campaign. In 2019 she was invited by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for their annual Goalkeepers Summit.

     

    Recently India’s foremost female content creator announced Pretty Fit, a light-hearted six-episode fitness-based chat show featuring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sanya Malhotra, Malishka Mendonsa, Mithila Palkar, Neha Kakkar and Sumukhi Suresh. Being one of the first creators in the world to interview American technology veteran, Susan Wojcicki, CEO of YouTube , Pretty Fit also marked a first for the 26-year-old digital superstar who became India’s first content creator to have her own YouTube Originals.     Mumbai: Happiness, enthusiasm and festive fervour prevailed over the last weekend at Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios as Asia’s largest content festival India Film Project was concluded with much fanfare.One of the most anticipated events of the year IFP, in its 9th edition, witnessed over 35000 participants from across the boundaries and over 100 celebrities from films, digital, music and literature. The attendants amassed valuable insights from the masterclasses, celebrity panel discussions and numerous workshops. The sessions highlighted the various nuisances of the artistic, storytelling and creative aspects of filmmaking.

    Talking about the much-awaited event, Ritam Bhatnagar, Founder, India Film Project, said, “I am overwhelmed by the response that we have received for IFP this year. This festival was conceptualised to offer a learning& networking opportunity across all domains of films, digital,literature and music.. Filmmaking and creative arts in India have come a long way, and it’s great to witness young minds illustrating their narratives.     Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah spoke at the conversation titled ‘Making of a Legend – A Masterclass in acting’ whereas the conversation titled ‘Cardinal Sins of Cinema’ witnessed legendary writer-lyricist Javed Akhtar as a guest speaker talking about the golden era of cinema and how every decade has it's good and bad aspects. Segment moderated by Faridoon Shahryar, ‘The Showcase: Sheer Qorma’ saw actors Divya Dutta&Swara Bhaskar along with the makers Faraz Ansari and Marijke D’Souza giving an ode to female queer love story and unveiling the movie poster. The conversation titled – ‘Cultural Impact: What is the key to creating Authentic and real LGBTQ characters on screen’ witnessed Kubra Sait, Apurva Asrani, and Onir as panellists. The session moderated by Renil Abraham spoke about the portrayal of the LGBTQ characters on screen and their characterization. Aparshakti Khurrana moderated of Manoj Bajpayaee titled as ‘Signature Masterclass: The Making of a Legend’.

The winning titles will be theatrically released in PVR cinemas across Mumbai, Bangalore, Delhi, Pune, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh. Furthermore, these movies will also be premiered on MTV over weekends on a prime-time slot for 6 months.

    Anshula Kapoor’s online fundraising platform ‘Fankind’ launches its third campaign with YouTube star Prajakta Koli

    MUMBAI: Anshula Kapoor’s online fundraising platform which unites celebrities, fans and charities launches its third campaign with well-known YouTuber, Prajakta Koli. The digital diva will be raising funds for ‘The Banyan Foundation’ in Chennai. The proceeds of this campaign will be used to support the salaries of the psychologists, psychiatrists and general physicians at the foundation’s day care center where they provide treatment, emotional support and counselling to those who are in need of love and care.

    To participate in the campaign, fans can donate on Fankind’s website to buy entries for a minimum of Rs 100 or multiples thereof, and one lucky fan participating will get the opportunity to play games and wrestle wearing a sumo suit with Prajakta in Mumbai, and be in her Vlog!

    “I truly believe that it's is important to raise awareness and address issues around mental health in order to erase the stigma around it. For this to be effective we need the right professionals to deal with the delicate and sensitive mental state of the patients. Which is why the funds raised through this campaign with Fankind will be used to support the staff at the Banyan Foundation in Chennai who take care of the patients at their center.” Prajakta said in a statement.

    On the announcement of the campaign, Anshula Kapoor, Founder of Fankind said, “I am excited to launch the third Fankind campaign with YouTube star, Prajakta Koli. Through her campaign we are raising funds to support the staff at The Banyan Foundation and amplify the conversation regarding mental health. According to the World Health Organization, over 8 crore Indians suffer from depression and anxiety related disorders, but only a small amount of them even seek help. A large part of this is because of the huge stigma and judgement attached to people with any kind of mental illness. Prajakta has been a vocal advocate who doesn’t shy away from speaking about mental health, and we are extremely proud to use our platform to add to the conversation and help raise funds for an organization that has relentlessly been working to help people battle their mental health issues. Prajakta is delightfully charming and I am certain that the fan who wins this experience will have the best time with her”.

    The campaign went live on September 22 and will end on October 23, 2019.
