Policybazaar launches ‘Ashray’, a heartfelt film on power of health insurance

MUMBAI: Policybazaar, one of India’s leading insurance platforms, has unveiled an emotional short brand film titled ‘Ashray’, inspired by the true story of a young boy whose family’s resilience and timely health insurance cover became their greatest source of hope in a time of crisis.

The film recounts the story of little Ashray, who suffered a life-altering accident while playing with colours on Holi. His father, Sunny Bhatia, faced every parent’s worst nightmare: a sudden medical emergency that demanded prolonged treatment and mounting expenses running into lakhs of rupees. As bills piled up and the family struggled to cope, their health insurance policy emerged as a lifeline, covering critical medical costs when they needed it most.

Ashray’s journey is one among many that reflect why health insurance is not a luxury but a necessity for every Indian household. The film serves as a poignant reminder of how unpredictable life can be and how being prepared can mean the difference between despair and hope.

Even after seven years, Ashray continues to receive world-class neuro-rehabilitation care, a journey made possible through the family’s health cover. Through ‘Ashray’, Policybazaar underscores its commitment to making health insurance accessible, affordable, and easily understood by every Indian family, ensuring that no one has to compromise on quality healthcare for their loved ones.

Speaking about the film, Sunny Bhatia, Ashray’s father, said, “I wanted to share Ashray’s story so that more families understand how crucial health insurance is. Life can change in an instant, and the right health insurance can make all the difference. Policybazaar has given me the platform to share our journey, and I hope more and more people see this and start taking health insurance seriously. No family should have to face such a crisis unprepared.”

Policybazaar head – brand marketing Samir Sethi added, “At Policybazaar, we’ve always believed that the true impact of insurance lies in the lives it transforms. Ashray’s story is a powerful reminder that health insurance is more than a policy, it’s a shield that protects families from life’s most unpredictable challenges. Through this film, we want people to see the human side of insurance, the comfort it brings, the security it ensures, and the hope it sustains.”

Policybazaar continues to work towards simplifying health insurance for millions of Indians, helping them choose the right policy, offering seamless claims assistance, and supporting families during medical emergencies. The brand remains committed to raising awareness around financial preparedness in healthcare, urging people to act today so that they are never caught unprepared in times of crisis.

The ‘Ashray’ brand film is streaming across Policybazaar’s digital platforms and social media channels. Viewers are encouraged to watch and share the story to spread awareness about the importance of health insurance in safeguarding families against medical uncertainties.

  • Smoke signals of sorrow light up Policybazaar’s anti-tobacco film

Smoke signals of sorrow light up Policybazaar’s anti-tobacco film

MUMBAI: What if the regrets of smokers could speak? Policybazaar’s new campaign gives them a voice and a chilling one at that. For World No Tobacco Day, Policybazaar teamed up with creative agency Social Panga to launch a powerful short film that chooses impact over instruction and emotion over scare tactics. Instead of telling smokers to quit, it poses a stark question, what if you don’t?

The 90-second film, presented in an unvarnished, documentary-style format, opens with a deceptively simple prompt about life regrets. Young people, seemingly everyday smokers, step in to answer. Their stories start familiarly enough peer pressure, stress, casual puffs that escalated. But the film soon tightens its grip. These aren’t just smokers. They’re victims. And their regrets? Not warnings, but farewells.

“There was no room for melodrama here,” said Social Panga co-founder Gaurav Arora. “We deliberately stripped back the creative gloss. The idea was to sit you down face-to-face with someone who no longer has the luxury of time, choice, or second chances.”

Unlike traditional anti-smoking PSAs that showcase diseased lungs or coughing fits, Policybazaar’s film flips the lens to focus on what smoking takes away family moments, future plans, and the quiet joys of just being alive. It’s raw, real, and designed to make even the most casual smoker uncomfortable in their comfort zone.

Distributed via social media and creator-led platforms, the campaign aims to reach millions of young Indians teetering on the edge of habitual smoking those who may not respond to scientific stats, but might just pause for a shared story.

  • Policybazaar launches new ad campaign on exceptional claims assistance

Policybazaar launches new ad campaign on exceptional claims assistance

Mumbai: Policybazaar’s latest ad campaign is all about redefining your car insurance experience. Recognising the need for quick and steadfast claims support during road mishaps, the brand has launched three ad films focussing on its razor-sharp commitment to swift claims assistance. As the Claim Assurance Program promises – car ke repair le kar se claims settlement, sab hum sambhal lenge – Policybazaar is here to ease your car insurance woes.

Right from a fender-bender to a serious collision – getting into an accident can be quite a daunting experience. The last thing one needs on top of that is the hassle of a complex and time-consuming claims process. Facilitating quick and effective claims settlement has been a focus area that Policybazaar has relentlessly been working on. The brand understands that while insurance is a promise of a secure future, the claim is that moment of truth when that promise needs to be honoured.

Policybazaar CMO Sai Narayan said, “When it comes to insurance, our research shows that most customers make a clear choice of robust claims support over anything else, even low prices. This is why we started our journey of awareness and trust-building with ad campaigns on claims assistance in the health and life insurance space, which we are now extending to motor insurance. Our campaign features three relatable scenarios that reflect the common consumer sentiment – will my claim be processed? This is where Policybazaar steps in to assure our customers that we have got their backs every step of the way. From seamless claims processing to quick resolutions, we are here to make the insurance experience hassle-free.”

In continuance of its claims support initiatives, Policybazaar has launched its Claims Assurance Program, which will provide customers with a superior claims assistance experience with services like a dedicated claims manager, on-ground support 24*7 claims assistance and much more.

The campaign features a series of engaging advertisements that feature familiar situations where Policybazaar’s experts come to the policyholder’s rescue. Right from speedy pick-up to reassuring claims assistance – the brand’s dedication to customers shines through the campaign. While one wonders if it’s because the insurance comes at a hefty price, the ad showcases that car insurance is, in fact, up to ₹8000 cheaper on Policybazaar!

MagicCircle Communications managing director Hemant Misra said, “Our idea was to realistically showcase the anxiety a consumer feels when having to claim their car insurance. From the accident scenario, to the possibility of claim rejection, or even delayed delivery of the vehicle, there are myriad issues that can cause anxiety. But no matter the stress, Policy Bazaar’s assurance of end-to-end claim support was the perfect brand promise to address it. The relatable scenarios were married with clever storytelling techniques, to create an engaging and effective narrative.”

The ad films are set to go live across various media channels including television, digital platforms, and social media. Policybazaar hopes to build awareness and change the consumer’s perception around claims experience.

  • Policybazaar brings back Kapil Sharma in its humorous new brand campaign

Policybazaar brings back Kapil Sharma in its humorous new brand campaign

Mumbai: Policybazaar brings back the comedic genius of Kapil Sharma with a series of ad films marking his return as the brand ambassador. The actor-comedian, who collaborated with the brand in the past for the witty campaign Ullu-Thullu, is back with his signature style to educate customers about the benefits of comparing and buying insurance.

By infusing humour in a complex category like insurance, Kapil Sharma makes the best use of his mass appeal to take the message far and wide. The entertainer’s iconic style makes him a natural choice for the campaign, which is in line with the brand’s larger mission of simplifying insurance and making it more relatable for the masses. This partnership promises a delightful journey ahead with more ads in the series to be rolled out soon.

Policybazaar head of brand marketing Samir Sethi said “Insurance, though crucial, can often feel like a maze. Considering the success of our past collaborations with Kapil Sharma, we are delighted to welcome him back. We believe that his unique ability to connect with the audience through humour will demystify the insurance-buying process and encourage our customers to make more informed choices. Policybazaar is committed to making insurance accessible and affordable for all, and this association is a significant step in that direction.”

While a lot of two-wheelers ply uninsured on Indian roads, car insurance is often treated as a run-of-the-mill purchase with little thought being put into it. The ads focus on these two target segments. While car insurance buyers are advised to compare on Policybazaar and save up to Rs 8000, two-wheeler owners are educated to buy motor insurance to save themselves from theft or legal consequences.  The campaign emphasizes on how Policybazaar can make their motor insurance purchase more transparent, seamless and affordable.

Talking about the conceptualisation, the MagicCircle Communications agency managing director Hemant Misra said, “Policybazaar and Kapil Sharma coming together is a strong strategic decision for the car and bike insurance category. Given his mass appeal, Kapil is the right choice for the brand to engage better with the target audience. Not to mention, Kapil’s sense of humour makes any communication memorable and relatable.”

Policybazaar continues to lead the charge in transforming the way insurance is purchased in India. With this launch, Policybazaar reaffirms its commitment to its mission of #HarFamilyHogiInsured aligned with the IRDAI’s vision of a fully insured India by 2047. Customers can look forward to an entertaining and informative journey as they explore their insurance options, choose the best one for them and save up on premiums.

  • PolicyBazaar empowers women in new term insurance campaign

PolicyBazaar empowers women in new term insurance campaign

Mumbai: Capturing on film a much-needed shift in gender notions, Policybazaar unveils a poignant three-part brand campaign, which brings out the critical need for every Indian woman to buy Term Life Insurance independent of her spouse. Traditionally, a family’s financial security is associated solely with men. This dangerously overlooks the emotional and financial void a family faces if the wife or mother figure passes away. Policybazaar’s campaign touchingly portrays this gap, urging women to own their role in their family’s financial well-being and secure their loved one’s future with Term Insurance.

Agar mujhe kuch ho jaata toh…?

The ads showcase the quintessential motherly instinct of wanting to protect your child even if you are not around. The first ad opens with a cancer survivor tending to her daughter’s needs, simultaneously fretting how much the child’s life would have had to change had she not survived. She adds that this sobering realization has made her choose some semblance of certainty for her daughter – as she has invested in her own Term insurance, just like her husband.

    Zimmedari hum dono ki hai…

Another ad brings out the pangs of responsibility a mother feels even when her child is in the womb. A pregnant woman, sitting in a hospital, says that making sure her yet-to-be-born child gets the best opportunities in life is the couple’s shared responsibility. She adds that she, too, has bought Term Insurance so that both can do justice to their kid’s dreams even in the worst circumstances.

Sirf ek salary pe ghar nahin chalta…

The campaign aptly depicts the ground reality of a modern household, in which a woman’s financial contribution is no less than a man’s. All three ads are connected by the common thread of women actively buying insurance, embracing the responsibility that comes with the changing dynamics.

Policybazaar chief marketing officer Sai Narayan said, “Our brand’s tagline is “Har Family Hogi Insured,” and that can only happen when women are factored in as equals. Term insurance tailored for women is a critical yet underexplored segment; we believe it holds immense potential. The storytelling in these ad films mirrors the evolving societal dynamics where an increasing number of women are taking charge of financial matters, particularly concerning their children. Our in-house research further affirms that women are increasingly becoming the primary decision-makers when it comes to purchasing term insurance. Through this campaign, Policybazaar drives home the message and encourages more women to invest in a financially secure future for their loved ones.”

The brand has also in the past collaborated with its insurer partners in making women-centric term plans easily accessible, like the independent homemaker term plan.

Policybazaar CBO Life Insurance Santosh Agarwal echoes the sentiment, “Policybazaar advocates the philosophy of women being equal contributors to a household, irrespective of their employment status or tangible income. The industry coming up with products like the independent homemaker term plan is a huge testament to women’s invaluable contribution to family and society. There are plans available that cater specifically to women’s health concerns. The campaign takes our message far and wide that women must make the best of these plans and secure their dependents’ future in this uncertain world.”

  • Policybazaar unveils new term life ad campaign featuring Pankaj Tripathi

Policybazaar unveils new term life ad campaign featuring Pankaj Tripathi

Mumbai: Online insurance marketplaces Policybazaar unveils its newest brand campaign featuring actor Pankaj Tripathi to raise awareness quotient regarding the significance of term life insurance. Presented with a healthy dose of humour, the ad film is aimed at individuals who procrastinate the crucial decision of buying term insurance for their dependents.

The low insurance penetration in India stems from the low collective public awareness regarding insurance, and Policybazaar’s new campaign deftly underlines this fact. Corresponding to the brand’s promise of insuring every family, the initiative targets the all-too-prevalent perception of stalling insurance purchases until it’s too late. The quirky ad emphasises that not buying term insurance is equivalent to a ‘ghor paap’ or unforgivable sin against one’s family.

Commenting on the launch, Policybazaar.com CEO Sarbvir Singh said, “The overall low insurance penetration rate in India is a reflection of mostly uninsured or underinsured people. We at Policybazaar have relentlessly been working towards the mission of closing the protection gap in the country and bringing it to global levels. Our new campaign is humorous and hard-hitting in equal measures to create the maximum impact on the general consumer mindset of procrastination. We want to effectively drive a strong consumer connection through this campaign and make them aware of the consequences of their indecision.”

Establishing an afterlife setting, the creative campaign kicks off with a seemingly affable college professor being directed to the gates of hell in a surprising turn of events. Downright baffled, he is told by the gatekeeper that he has committed a ‘ghor paap’ against his family by not purchasing a term life insurance in his lifetime. Played by the charismatic Pankaj Tripathi, the gatekeeper then lets the next guy into heaven since he had taken a policy!

Talking about the campaign launch, Policybazaar Group senior director brand & marketing Sai Narayan said, “Procrastination, especially when it comes to insurance, is pretty much a fundamental trait. The concept behind this campaign is to make consumers aware of the transience of life and the gravity of an unprecedented situation. The humour element is intended to educate as well as entertain them at the same time. Pankaj Tripathi is one of the most popular faces of the entertainment industry and his trademark style helps get our message across prudently among the masses.”

MagicCircle managing director Hemant Misra added, “Death is the only truth in our lives. Policybazaar is one brand that has taken this truth by the horns and coaxed a highly underpenetrated category into action. For this campaign, we went beyond the fear of death to a fear that lives on even after death. The fear of being remembered as the person who robbed their family of happiness. That is not simply a crime but ‘Paap’. Ghor Paap. That is the simple insight this campaign is based on.”

Since its inception, Policybazaar’s larger vision has been to make the insurance ecosystem more transparent and make insurance simpler for the end consumer. Our end-to-end digital assistance and diversified solutions have been vital in giving people a safer and easier way for buying, renewing, and claiming insurance for over a decade. The campaign is a part of the larger brand message of encouraging more and more people to invest in protection products for a better future for their loved ones, even in their absence.

  • Policybazaar announces new tagline ‘Har Family Hogi Insured’ to strengthen its brand

Policybazaar announces new tagline ‘Har Family Hogi Insured’ to strengthen its brand

Mumbai: Online insurance marketplace Policybazaar has announced its new tagline – Har Family Hogi Insured to underscore the brand’s vision of a healthy and well-protected India.

The tagline reinforces the company’s mission to help the Indian middle-class deal with the 3D’s death, disease and disability. The campaign is inspired by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDAI) chairperson Shri Debashish Panda’s vision of providing insurance to each family by 2047.

To further expand and deepen insurance penetration in India, Policybazaar has strengthened its physical presence with over 500 dedicated field agents, 35 newly-opened retail outlets and 6 new major centres apart from its existing Gurgaon and Mumbai operations.

To cater to different regions and engage with customers, especially in Tier two and tier three cities, the brand provides native language support in 11 languages to guide them throughout the policy lifecycle.

“With our commitment to putting customers at the centre of our services, we have been able to successfully enhance the level of insurance awareness for our existing consumers,” said Policybazaar.com co-founder and group CEO Yashish Dahiya. “We want to take the insurance distribution and access to every nook and corner of the country. This refreshed brand commitment focuses on tier 2 & 3 cities for advancing a higher level of awareness regarding insurance protection. The new tagline launch emphasizes our aim to democratise insurance in India where each member of the household is insured.”

Even after witnessing an increased adoption after the pandemic, insurance penetration in India still remains low as compared to countries like the USA and China. At present, only 20 per cent of India’s 60 million families, i.e., people with more than $6000 per year income have adequate insurance coverage.

“Our focus has always been on improving India’s insurance penetration and casting a wider financial safety net for each family in the country,” said Policybazaar.com CEO Sarbvir Singh. “Our new tagline to Har Family Hogi Insured strongly re-emphasizes the brand’s core values and focus. Customers in smaller towns and cities are now increasingly gravitating towards adequate insurance coverage. We are also seeing a steady shift in the business mix with 59 per cent of our insurance business coming from non-tier 1 cities, up from 28 percent in FY17.”

Policybazaar is a leading digital insurance marketplace with a 93.4 per cent market share among all online insurance distributors, its 48 million customer base and over 126 million platform visitors.
