    Nick takes over the skies with Singapore Airlines

    MUMBAI: This month and next month kids broadcaster Nickelodeon’s Rugrats toddlers and the party animals from Barnyard will be taking to the skies with junior flyers and Singapore Airlines.

    One of the Barnyard characters or Rugrats babies will be accompanying Singapore Airlines’ junior flyers when they embark on their journey. All travellers under 12 will receive a fun pack filled with books and activities that will keep them preoccupied on their flight.

    In addition to this, movies such as Barnyard: The Original Party Animals and Rugrats in Paris, as well as the Rugrats cartoon series will be featured on the Singapore Airlines award-winning in-flight entertainment system, KrisWorld.

    Singapore Airlines VP in-flight services Betty Wong says, “We are delighted to present this triple dose of Barnyard and Rugrats premiums, and the cartoon series and movies to entertain our young travellers,” said the . “We want our young flyers to have fun and be entertained on all our flights.

    “We will continue to feature new cartoon characters on all flights in addition to the all-time favourite SpongeBob SquarePants premiums that we introduced last year.”

    KrisWorld has a range of entertainment options for the youngsters with not just popular TV programmes and cartoons, but also the latest children’s CDs and soundtracks, and a large menu of games including Pokemon, Super Mario Bros Deluxe, Winnie the Pooh, Lion King Paddle Bash, Tic Tack Toe, in-flight Tetris and much much more.

    This alliance is a reflection of both companies’ commitment to the children’s’ needs when flying and travelling.     Cartoon Network to join ‘Barbie’ and ‘Pokémon’ on Children’s Day

    MUMBAI: Cartoon Network Theatre is planning a special treat for its viewers on Children’s Day, with two feature films Barbie in the Twelve Dancing Princesses and Pokémon Mewtwo Returns!

    Barbie in the Twelve Dancing Princesses which was first premiered on the channel in September, will be aired at 2 pm. While Pokémon Mewtwo Returns! will be premiered nationally at 6:30 pm on 14 November, states an official release.

    Barbie in the Twelve Dancing Princesses is based on the life of Princess Genevieve (played by Barbie) and her 11 dancing princess sisters. They are endangered by their evil aunt Rowena, who is plotting to rule their kingdom. In order to break free from Aunt Rowena’s clutches, all the princesses escape to a palace and discover a secret entrance to a magical world where wishes come true! However, they must return to their kingdom in order to save it.

    Pokémon Mewtwo Returns! tells the tale of Ash, Misty, and Brock who continue to explore the Johto region to rescue Pikachu whose was kidnapped by Jessie and James of Team Rocket. The search leads them to the hidden plateau where the redoubtable Mewtwo has established a haven for the cloned Pokémon. The evil Giovanni is plotting to recapture Mewtwo and renew his efforts to create an army of bio-engineered Pokémon. Aided by the reluctant Meowth, Ash and his friends must defeat Giovanni and his henchman in order to rescue Pikachu.

    4Kids Entertainment launch HD animated TV series ‘Chaotic’ at Mipcom

    MUMBAI: 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. has set Mipcom 2006 for the global launch of its new high-definition animated action adventure television series Chaotic. As announced by 4Kids Entertainment executive VP International Brian Lacey, the 40 half-hour episode series will be available to international buyers at this year’s market.

    4Kids has exclusive rights to represent Chaotic worldwide across broadcast, home video, music and merchandise licensing. According to Lacey, the high-definition animated kids television series will premiere on 4Kids TV in the US in late September, informs an official release.

    “Chaotic combines the best entertainment qualities of Pokémon – stories with heart and attitude that feature a collectable appeal for kids and Yu-Gi-Oh! – stories that build upon a compelling trading card game,” Lacey added.

    “Chaotic will bring kids around the globe into a multi-dimensional entertainment world – a dynamic trading card game with a high-velocity web interactive element – that serves the interests of kid viewers and the needs of broadcasters alike. A kid-identifiable cast of characters and fast-paced stories, highlighted with conflict, comedy and lots of warmth give this hi-def series the hallmarks of a kids classic. Quite simply, Chaotic breaks new ground in the kids entertainment business.”

    Chaotic transports the viewers into a world filled with fantastic creatures. Magic, suspense and adventure abound in this exciting action series. This series creatively draws upon a dynamic trading card game that elevates the level of interactivity and engagement with and between kids unequalled in an entertainment property. Each Chaotic card has its own unique code, as the codes allow players and collectors to battle and trade cards in their physical and online worlds, adds the release.
