    MUMBAI: Offering a treat to action movie lovers, &pictures will premiere Vidyut Jammwal’s The Power on 15 May at 8 PM. Directed by National award-winning filmmaker Mahesh Manjrekar, the film is loaded with high-octane action scenes featuring Jammwal. 

    Packed with the strong performance of Vidyut Jammwal along with Shruti Hassan and Sonal Chauhan, the movie is a perfect blend of Bollywood drama that could offer an engaging ride for the audiences. 

    The film follows the lives of Devidas Thakur (Vidyut Jammwal) and Pari (Shruti Haasan), who fall in love but soon find themselves tangled in a resentful conflict due to their warring families. When the rival gangs and goons join hands against the family of Kalidas Thakur (Mahesh V Manjrekar) and launch a deadly attack on him, Devidas finds himself in a position where he must take the reins of his family’s safety. 

    The film had its OTT release on Zee Plex on 14 January 2021, and received mixed to positive reviews from critics.  The action sequences in the movie have been roundly praised.

    MUMBAI: &pictures began the award season on a high note by bagging three metals across ‘Global Digital Marketing Excellence Awards 2021’ for its innovative brand refresh campaign – On Nahi, Full On.

    At ‘Global Digital Marketing Excellence Awards 2021’ &pictures bagged three awards in prominent categories such as Best Brand Marketing Campaign, Best Digital Integrated Campaign, and Best Social Media Campaign.

    The campaign On Nahi, Full On was a strategic initiative to not just improve upon the brand resonance with their consumers but also reinforce the brand’s perception of being a fun and energetic destination. This was achieved through a well-rounded approach, highlighting the channel’s ideology through four-key brand pillars – Thrill, Feels, Punch and Masti. These brand pillars were exemplified through ‘&pictures Brand Shorties’ which showcased those strong moments in consumer’s lives where current reality and television viewership merged into a single entity.

    The campaign chain further connected the shorties to ‘Full On Bloc Party’. This unprecedented visual party was organised on &pictures social media channels where young and popular talents like Ishaan Khatter, Dolly Singh, Dhvani Bhanushali personified each of the brand pillars. To carry forward the inherent brand identity, the campaign was amped up through thrilling and fun-filled content blocks that played around three tenants – ‘Full On Blockbuster Premieres’, ‘Full On Thrilling Content’ and ‘Full On Hollywood’. Each content block catered to different needs and desires of the diverse audience set. This was further boosted through major movie premieres on the channel, culminating in the launch of an industry first initiative, a direct TV release of the &pictures original film Footfairy. 

    Leaving no stone unturned &pictures ‘On Nahi, Full On’ campaign delivered appealing engagement formats which resulted in striking the right chord with their target audience. The channel reaped major returns from the campaign, including 9.52 per cent increase in the channel GRPS and attainment of 67 million impressions across social media.

    The latest chapter of the Grudge revolves around a gruesome murder that takes place in the US where a young housewife, upon her return from Japan, kills her family members and herself. This incident kickstarts a series of ghastly occurrences in the neighbourhood where a vengeful spirit dooms those who enter the haunted house. With detective Muldoon investigating this case, she  begins to encounter increasingly odd circumstances and soon realizes she must defend her son and herself from the demonic forces.

    MUMBAI: Hindi movie channel &pictures is revamping its brand image to appeal to a new generation of viewers with the launch of a refreshing new ideology and tagline – ‘On Nahi, Full On’.

    Launched by Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd in 2013, &pictures has always catered to an audience with a youthful mindset with an array of content and characters that reflects their life choices and beliefs.

    Explaining the rationale behind the revamp, Zee Hindi Movies Cluster business head Ruchir Tiwari told indiantelevision.com that the channel is looking at strengthening its current portfolio that it has built over years by refreshing content.

    “The audience that was there when the channel was launched has now changed. The idea is to appeal to younger audiences.     According to Tiwari, the channel did extensive research before designing the logo. The pre-packaging was done by the internal design team along with various collaborators.

    The channel has come up with a two-pronged content strategy: keeping the new-age sensibilities in mind to strengthen its bond with its core viewers; and to engage and bring in new viewers. &pictures is improving its movie library with fresh and exciting new entrants like Good Newwz, Dabangg 3, Kaali Peeli and Gunjan Saxena. The channel has also introduced a slew of original and off-beat flicks: Footfairy, Omerta and Hacked, amongst others.

    For Hollywood fanatics, &pictures has slated blockbuster premieres like Bumblebee, Fantasy Island & Bloodshot along with the latest installments of viewers’ favourite movie franchises like Kung Fu Panda, Jumanji and Transformers, to name a few.

    In an age where the audience is turning to OTT and streaming services, it is important to reassure the consumer about the channel’s proposition, emphasised Tiwari. “Forming a habit among consumers also comes with a huge responsibility where you need to be on your toes. We’re striving constantly to get better content and create relevance through social media,” he added.

    In keeping with its revamped ‘On Nahi, Full On’ ideology, &pictures has kicked off the ‘Full on Bloc Party’ campaign on its social media channels. Through collaborations with talented young stars like Ishaan Khatter, Dhvani Bhanushali, Dolly Singh & Nikhil Paralikar a.k.a the Tabla guy, the brand is promoting its ethos of Full on Feels, Full on Masti, Full on Punch and Full on Thrill.

    &pictures shorties, conceptualized by Lowe Lintas, will be promoted extensively across television and digital media. To up the fun quotient, the entertainment channel will soon launch the full-on masti brand filters on Instagram to click with its young, social media savvy followers.

This murder mystery explores the dark side of how far an absurd obsession can make you go. Set against the backdrop of Mumbai, the edge of the seat psychological crime thriller is an intriguing cat and mouse chase between a CBI officer and a mysterious serial killer with a absurd fetish.     ‘Shooter daadiya ka andaaz bohot hain tez, jeet na paata koi, jab hove hai goliyon ki race’.  All set to hit the bullseye this Saturday is director Tushar Hiranandani’s perfect entertainer ‘Saand Ki Aankh’ that narrates that true-life story of India’s oldest sharpshooters, Prakashi and Chandro Tomar. Breaking new grounds and leaving ‘umar’ in the background, the dadi’s unbreakable spirit and determination showcased that every woman has the right to glory. Bringing to life this thrilling journey are the award-winning actress Bhumi Pednekar and Taapsee Pannu. Along with them the movie also features Prakash Jha, Viineet Kumar and Pawan Chopra in pivotal roles.     Speaking about her experience of playing Chandro Tomar, Bhumi Pednekar said, “Shooter dadi’s lives were filled with hardships. One thing that stayed by me while I played Chandro’s character was that despite leading a happy and wholesome life they were open to change.     Commenting about this path breaking movie, Taapsee Pannu said, “While movies are made to entertain the audience, they are also looked at as a tool to address prevalent issues in society. Saand Ki Aankh is a movie that was made with the latter intention in mind. Many might not know or agree to it but women in rural areas are kept under the watchful eyes of the men in their houses. It is a story of how two women – Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar decided that enough was enough and took matters into their own hands. They were not only each other’s support system but also the world’s oldest sharpshooters who set an example by taking up the sport at an age when we people usually give up on their ambitions.”

    The movie revolves around the lives of Chandro and Prakashi Tomar who are restricted to their house compound and identified by the colors of their ghungat. Treated as baby making machines, they are married off to take care of their husband and household. From discussing family matters, to deciding the happenings of the day, the patriarch of the family, Rattan Singh (Prakash Jha) has the final say. One day, Yashpal, a man influenced by the urban ways sets up a shooting academy as he believes this can change the lives of the village kids. Driven with the thought their daughters don’t live the kind of lives that they have, the dadi’s enroll their daughters. While trying to make their daughters learn the sport, they themselves land up hitting the bull’s eye which leaves Yashpal in shock. Blown by their perfect shot, Yashpal decides to train them. This makes both the dadi’s believe in their potential as they go on to shatter every stereotype and bring home laurels.

This struck us so hard that through our movie we wanted to break this myth and establish golf as a common man’s game. With Ali’s character we wanted to inspire people to keep striving for their dreams no matter what their social backgrounds are because in the end your talent is the one that bears fruit.     Filled with ample dose of masala, the 2016 film narrates the story of Ali, who makes a living by selling undergarments and extorting money along with best friend Maqsood (Arbaaz Khan). However, his fate turns when he discovers golf accidently while collecting money from a businessman playing the game. Looking at his fabulous shots, his neighbour Kishanlal (Asif Basra) who is a caddy by profession trains Ali to be a professional golf player. With time, Ali starts topping the charts with his game, which starts to annoy the prevailing golf champion Vikram (Jas Arora). Vikram challenges Ali in the Golf championship and tries to put Ali down by stating Golf is a rich man’s game. To prove Vikram wrong and break the stereotype, Ali puts in all his efforts in winning the championship.

    MUMBAI: &pictures to air the World Television Premiere of the action entertainer ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota Hain’ on 29 February at 8 pm. Written and directed by Vasan Bala, this award winning film pays homage to action films from the past along with a perfect blend of Bollywood masala. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala, the film stars debutant Abhimanyu Dassani along with Radhika Madan, Gulshan Devaiah, Mahesh Manjrekar and Jimit Trivedi essaying pivotal roles. 

    Commenting on the uniqueness of the plot of the film, director Vasan Bala said, “While making Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota, I wanted to tell the story of some of my favourite films from my childhood as if they were all rolled into one film like a dream, a riot of movie references, as I would see it. As a result, the movie has a lot of reference to many movies, comic dialogues, television shows, etc. even the clothes that Radhika and Abhimanyu wore, were all a representation of some movie or the other. The uniqueness I believe comes from being true to what it represents, being a movie lover, which we all are, whichever era we belong to, we are a tribe, in this together. With the World Television Premiere on &pictures, I would like you to also watch it and try to pick up all the movies references I have woven in the plotline.”

    Elaborating on the prep that went into portraying Surya, Abhimanyu Dassani said, “The most exciting thing about Surya which impacted me and my life in a big way are the three months that I spent in isolation before we could start shooting. It was then that I went through a lot of introspection where I could touch upon what my insecurities are and what my purpose to get into films are. I realized what I am, what I need to do and what I need to stay away from. This practice not only helped me portray Surya but also do justice to the character. I also underwent a lot of
    training for the action scenes, as I wanted to and insisted that I did all the stunts. With the response the film has received even after a year, I can now say that the training rigorously for 9 hours every day for 6 – 9 months totally paid off.”

    The plot revolves around the life of a differently abled child Surya (Abhimanyu Dassani) who is born with a rare disorder due to which he can’t feel any pain. This makes him a misfit – a social outcast who is bullied by his peers at school. But he finds an unlikely ally in his neighbor and
    school friend, Supri who always has his back. Encouraged by his grandfather, Surya aspires to be a ‘Karate Man’. His first foray into vigilantism is to help Supri against her abusive father, but that event leads to Surya’s family being evicted from the building, and Surya and Supri are
    estranged as kids. While his father keeps him away from the entire world, Ajoba pushes Surya to pursue his passion secretly. Hence, Surya grows up to believe that he is Karate man, a self- proclaimed vigilante who must fight bad guys, like the ones who killed his mother.

    MUMBAI: Love comes in all shapes and sizes and between all kinds of people. On Valentine’s Day, channels celebrate this love with a special programming line-up for its viewers. From Hindi movie channels to regional GECs to music channels to English movies channels, each one of them pays a tribute to a variety of love.

    Hindi movie channels

    Hindi movie channels Zee Cinema, &Pictures, Colors Cineplex and Sony MAX2 have scheduled various movies for viewers throughout the day. Sony MAX2 has curated a line-up with a wide variety of films that are iconic and commemorate some of the most memorable love stories that fans can watch. The channel will air movies from 12-28 February to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Its line-up includes titles like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jaayenge which aired on 12 February, Deewana airs on 14 February, Karan Arjun on 21 February, Akhiyon Se Goli Maare on 22 February and Heer Ranjha on 28 February.

    On 14 February, kickstarting the day with a treasure trove of heart-warming movies, &pictures with its special segment ‘Loveistaan’ will showcase the magic of new age love stories that are bordering on insanity and unimaginable passion with inconceivable limits that tests true love. From the caring husband like Laxmikant in Padman, to Madhav proving his love to his Half Girlfriend, &pictures will put together a pyaar and passion ka combination in its day long festival, 9.30 am onwards. Loveistaan: a day-long movie festival will air Padman at 9.30 am, Jabariya Jodi at 12 pm, LoveYatri at 3 pm, Kedarnath at 5.45 pm, Zero at 8 pm and Half Girlfriend at 11 pm. The channel will also air Dream Girl on 15 February at 8 pm.

    To celebrate Valentine’s Day, Zee Cinema has scheduled a World Television Premiere ‘Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas’ at 8 pm. Colors Cineplex is doing a Loveria Festival on Valentine's Day wherein the stars of Love Aaj Kal – Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan also shot a promo. It was a weeklong movie festival and showcased popular movies like Inspector Vijay, Magadheera, Bajirao Mastani, Garam and Manmadhudhu 2 to name a few. On 14 February the channel will bring a World Television Premiere of Dove, along with titles like The Super Khiladi 2, Dangerous Khiladi 3, Gabbar is Back, and Manmadhudu 2.

    English Movie Channels

    Zee English cluster celebrates the emotion that needs to language and the feeling that makes the world go round with a special line-up of blockbuster movies curated for the day. Zee Café, &flix and &PrivéHD are each set to present a day-long binge on 14 February 2020.

    &flix brings a collection of top-rated Hollywood hits with ‘The Things You Do For Love’. The day-long binge starting 9 am, includes the biggest and most-acclaimed movies such as the Wall-E, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Passengers and the sci-fi delight A-X-L among others.

    Adding a dash of romance to the day is the exciting line-up of Valentine’s Day special movies on Zee Café.
