    MUMBAI: Expand its channels offering on Asian satellite operator – Asia Satellite Telecommunications, B4U has launched its third channel – B4U Movies Asia Pacific channel on AsiaSat 7.

     

    B4U’s other two Hindi channels, which are currently broadcast via AsiaSat 7 are B4U Movies and B4U Music.

     

    AsiaSat 7 at the 105.5oE orbital slot enables B4U to enjoy instantaneous access to all major multi-system operators (MSOs), cable operators, Pay TV platforms and hotel networks across the region.

    MUMBAI: Full-service satellite and fibre communications solutions provider ST Teleport, based in Singapore, has expanded its capacity commitment and strategic partnership with Asia Satellite Telecommunications (AsiaSat) to enhance service offerings to the VSAT and media sectors.

     

    ST Teleport recently expanded its C-band capacity in Asia with a new dedicated antenna for AsiaSat 4 at the orbital location of 122°E to provide leading-edge satellite-based service solutions for maritime, oil and gas, enterprise, and media businesses. In response to strong user demand for high-quality connectivity solutions for data and video services in Asia, both companies have further strengthened their collaboration to offer enhanced land/sea/air based VSAT services. 

     

    ST Teleport’s advanced earth station complex facilities in Singapore is now capable of connecting to AsiaSat’s comprehensive fleet of satellites, including the new Ku-band capacity on AsiaSat 8’s South East Asia and Middle East beams, to offer more choices to customers. The extension of the partnership will accelerate growth opportunities for ST Teleport and increase its offerings to customers looking for fast and flexible satellite communications solutions at competitive prices.

    Aircom Pacific leases transponders across AsiaSat fleet for in-flight entertainment delivery

    MUMBAI: Asian satellite operator Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat) has reached an agreement with in-flight entertainment and connectivity service provider Aircom Pacific, Inc. for using AsiaSat’s transponder capacity and uplinking services.

     

    Under the agreement, Aircom Pacific will use Ka-band and Ku-band capacity on AsiaSat 7 and AsiaSat 8 to deliver its in-flight entertainment and connectivity services for airlines flying routes over Asia. These services include Wifi broadband Internet, streaming TV and videos, streaming gaming, cellular connectivity, and real-time Duty Free shopping and travel services, enabling passengers to enjoy more comprehensive entertainment options during their flight while staying connected to their work and social networks at all times.

     

    “We chose AsiaSat as our satellite partner because it offers us the capacity, coverage and expertise in aero services necessary to ensure a successful implementation in the coming calendar year.     MUMBAI: Satellite  operator  Asia  Satellite Telecommunications  (AsiaSat)  has  announced  an  enhancement  of  its  sales development and support activities in order to improve the solutions it delivers to its clients.

    A new sales solutions team has been formed and will provide focused and solutions-driven support to the company’s sales and business development activities.  Led by Alan Wong, manager, sales solutions, this team will have an increased focus of identifying and implementing the best solution for each customer’s requirements.

    MUMBAI: B4U Television Network India has signed on Amagi, the cloud-based broadcast infrastructure and targeted TV advertising company, for a range of end-to-end cloud-based playout services.

     

    Through its flagship channel playout platform, Cloudport 2.0, Amagi’s services will include playout, 24/7 monitoring, conditional access and measurement systems leveraging satellite distribution from satellite operator AsiaSat.

     

    The development marks a step in the adoption of cloud-based managed playout services by TV networks in India and Amagi’s growing expertise in this area. It also demonstrates increasing adoption of the Amagi’s next-generation channel playout management services by TV networks worldwide to monetise their content delivery and distribution.

     

    Amagi is known in the Indian market for geo-targeted advertising. It has served over 30 million ad seconds for more than 2,500 clients including names like HUL, Reckitt & Benckiser, Britannia, and Wipro.

     

    “Amagi’s playout services offer us improved flexibility, transparency, and channel control at very cost-effective rates. We are also delighted with the excellent technical support delivered by Amagi in transitioning from our earlier playout infrastructure in just under two months,” said B4U Network chief financial officer Sandeep Gupta.

     

    “With all our content assets on the cloud, we are in a position to efficiently expand to new geographies and target specific markets as the business demands. It also makes us future-ready, as Amagi’s platforms are extendable for content regionalization, ad monetization, and OTT platform integration,” he added.

     

    The content and playlist is contributed by B4U in Mumbai, India, and the United Kingdom, while playout is uplinked in Hong Kong via AsiaSat. The entire workflow is stitched through Amagi’s cloud infrastructure and monitored by Amagi at its headquarters in Bengaluru.

     

    “Cloudport is rapidly becoming the preferred platform of choice for channel playout and management as TV networks look to leverage new efficiencies available through virtualized playout models,” said Amagi co-founder Srividhya Srinivasan.

    MUMBAI: Asian satellite operator Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat) has announced its new organisational structure to power the growth of the company in key Asian and global markets.

     

    Under the new organisational structure, both sales and business development teams will be headed by Philip Balaam. Under his expanded role as vice president, sales and business development, Balaam will assume new responsibilities in driving sales activities in all Asian markets while continuing to oversee the company’s business development initiatives.

     

    Sabrina Cubbon has been named vice president, marketing and global accounts. In her new capacity, Cubbon will focus on key global strategic accounts while continuing to lead the marketing, communications and corporate affairs functions of the company.

     

    Commenting on the new organisational structure, AsiaSat president and CEO William Wade said, “2015 is expected to be a challenging year for the satellite sector. I have confidence that our rebranding earlier this year has re-energised our brand presence and as equally important our entire team.
