    Pepsi launches its first football campaign

    MUMBAI: PepsiCo India has launched a new ad campaign on Football in India. This is the first time the food and beverages major has rolled out a football centric campaign.

    So far, the company was focusing on cricket in its campaign to reach masses.

    Conceptualised and created by JWT, the campaign features brand ambassador Ranbir Kapoor.

    Irreverent and youthful, the TVC aims to bring alive the fun associated with football in Pepsi style. The campaign will be supported by a 360-degree approach including outdoor, consumer engagement and social media programmes.

    PepsiCo Beverages India executive director – marketing Deepika Warrier said, “Pepsi has always taken the lead in celebrating newer and emerging youth platforms; from cricket to movies to music, the brand has successfully created memorable campaigns and experiences for Youngistaan. Football is gaining immense popularity in India and being a true youth soul-mate, Pepsi is proud to be associated with the sport.

    With a line-up of cricketing events including IPL, ICC World Twenty20 and a host of football initiatives, Pepsi promises an action-filled, fun year ahead.”

    PepsiCo India category director – colas, hydration and mango based beverages Homi Battiwalla added, “Our new Pepsi Football campaign takes forward the philosophy of ‘Change the Game’ with a refreshing twist. The campaign promises to excite and engage not only the existing passionate football fans but the entire nation”.

    “Pepsi is all about youth and their passions, which is reflected in the choice of football as a platform to engage with our target group. The new campaign retains the original irreverent and fun Pepsi style along with the new football energy and excitement,” JWT India executive business director Saurabh Saksena said.

    PepsiCo unveils new positioning for 7Up and Nimbooz

    MUMBAI: Food and beverage company, PepsiCo India, has donned a new positioning for its lemon flavoured drink 7Up and its sub-brand Nimbooz.

    The new brand philosophy of 7Up, ‘Dil Bole I Feel Up’ celebrates India’s undying “UPtimism” and positive attitude. It is onceptualised by 7Up’s creative agency, BBDO India.

    Additionally, the brand has unveiled new packaging for both the drinks with the new international logo.

    The first TVC, featuring brand ambassador Sharman Joshi will go on air later in January and will feature a dance-off between the actor and penguin. It has been shot in Australia with the CGI (computer generated imagery) and motion capture technology. The film is choreographed by Hollywood choreographer, Simon Lind, of Happy Feet 2 fame.

    7Up has also embarked on a nationwide dance, Odyssey. With dance being the ultimate expression of an upbeat spirit, 7UP has flagged off a dancing journey with Tamil Nadu’s dancing star, Sherif.

    As part of the campaign, Sherif will travel to 11 Indian cities, from Chennai to Chandigarh, to bottle reasons that make people feel UPtimistic and positive.

India feels UP and at 7UP we salute that with our new positioning. We are kick-starting the New Year with an exciting new ad film, a unique dance odyssey to bottle India’s UPtimism and a whole lot of exciting UPbeat activities. We are confident that it will resonate well with our consumers nationwide.”

    The campaign will be supported by outdoor, online and radio initiatives.

    MUMBAI: Proximity India has won the digital mandate of PepsiCo India‘s soft drink brand, 7UP. The agency will also handle 7UP‘s social media activities.

    PepsiCo India EVP- Marketing Ruchira Jaitley said, “Proximity India is a part of the PepsiCo agency team. Proximity has done award winning work with PepsiCo in the past and we were delighted with the strong creative work and strategic thinking demonstrated by Proximity India. Proximity is amongst most awarded digital agencies globally, and we look forward to being able to draw upon their international networks for learnings from across the world.”

    Apart from 7UP, over last couple of months Proximity digital team has added clients like Nissan, Visa and Doublemint to its portfolio.

    Early next year, Proximity will launch their proprietary Digital Lab Initiative in India, which is a multi-faceted program, designed to drive digital thought leadership and to provide a significant added value service to its clients.
