    Gregory Plotkin to direct ‘Paranormal Activity 5’

    Mumbai: Gregory Plotkin, who served as the editor and co-producer of the last three paranormal activity movies, is all set to have his directorial debut with the fifth installment of the popular horror series.

    He has also worked on another movie called ‘Paranormal Activity: The Marked ones’, due to release in January next year.

    With a long list of credits as an editor or assistant editor on films such as ‘The Insider’ and ‘The Break-up’, he now gets to be a lead behind the camera.

    The story is being written by Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman. Plotkin is repped by WME and Circle of Confusion. Jason Blum and Oren Peli are producers.

    Paranormal Activity 5 set for 2013 release

    MUMBAI: After the box-office success of Paranormal Activity 4, Paramount has announced that the fifth installment of the film will hit the screens next year on Halloween.
    Christopher Landon, son of Hollywood legend Michael Landon, will helm the project, it is understood. “This will be an off-shoot aimed at the groups that have been the biggest supporters of the property – Latinos and folks in Latin America – Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina,” a source said.
    The fourth film in the franchise stormed the weekend box-office with an intake of $30 million.

    Ryan Reynolds to star in Battle for Bonneville

    MUMBAI: Ryan Reynolds is likely to star in a film called Battle for Bonneville, which is based on the true story of racer brothers Art and Walt Arfons.
     
    The new project has also sealed Jon Favreau, the Iron Man helmer, as the director while the script will be provided by Tony Gilroy‘s brother Dan Gilroy who recently wrote the screenplay for The Bourne Legacy, it is understood.
     
    Battle for Bonnenville follows half-brothers Art and Walt who are also rivals on the drag race track. They later put aside their differences and team up to set the world land speed record for three times.
     
    In addition to the race film, Reynolds‘ upcoming project is a thriller called The Voices from Paranormal Activity script Michael R Perry.

    The Devil Inside to release on 2 March

    MUMBAI: After the box office success of Paranormal Activity, one of the scariest movie franchises of all time, Paramount Pictures and Viacom18 are releasing The Devil Inside.

    The film will open on 2 March all over India.

    A documentary-style footage film, The Devil Inside is a tale of a woman who gets involved in a series of exorcisms during her quest to determine what happened to her mother, a woman who murdered three people as a result of being possessed by a demon.

    The story follows Isabella Rossi and documentarian Michael who travel from America to a psychiatric hospital in Rome to visit Isabella‘s deranged mother (Suzan Crowley) who allegedly murdered three people during her own exorcism years ago. This is followed by an investigation on the mystery surrounding Isabella‘s mother with chilling repercussions.

    Directed by William Brent Bell, The Devil Inside stars Fernanda Andrade, Simon Quarterman, Evan Helmuth and Suzan Crowley.
