    Mumbai: AET Displays, a renowned industry expert in fine-pitch LED displays, is pleased to announce its participation in the Palm Expo 2024. The event will be held at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Goregaon East, Mumbai, from May 30 to June 1, 2024. AET Displays will take centre stage at booth C41, with an expansive showcase spanning 108 square meters.

    At this year’s Palm Expo, AET Displays will showcase its latest Rental Series products and XR Application-based screens.     MUMBAI: The  latest  edition  of  the  PALM  Expo  at  the  Bombay  Exhibition  Centre,  Mumbai,  was  once  again  a resounding  success.  Celebrating  18  consecutive  years,  PALM  Expo,  India  continues  to  exemplify  the unrivalled energy of the global Pro sound and light industry.

    This year’s edition boasted the highest attendance and participation  ever as a staggering 23,436 unique visitors, from across the country made their way to the venue from 31st May – 2nd June, 2018, proving that the Pro AV and lighting industry in India is poised for further expansion in the upcoming year.

    Day one clocked 9,197 visitors hosted by 2500 exhibitor badges – a total of 11,697 attendees. Day two registered  9,773  unique  visitors  and a record  footfall  of 12,765, while  day three  clocked  4,466  unique visitors. Over the three days of the show unique visitor numbers demonstrated  an increase of 20% from the last year. This edition of the PALM witnessed a significant increase in the share of trade visitors from B and C tier towns of India, with an increase in buyers from rest of India accounting for nearly 14%.

    The total exhibition area across the eight halls increased by 19.23% since 2017 and the demand for new products   was   reflected   by   the   busy   exhibit   halls,  with   Hall   1  being   demarcated   for   the   sound manufacturers and distributors, and Hall 5 for the lighting companies.

    Celebrating eight consecutive years at PALM Expo, The PALM DJ Championship has come a long way since it first started and has cemented its place at the heart of DJ culture in India, providing equal opportunity to  talented  DJs  from  across  the  country. The  PALM  DJ  Championship  2018  Finale  was  a tremendous success  witnessing  10 talented  DJs  from  various  Indian  cities  compete  for  the  grand  title  and  prizes. DJ Altrax from  Surat, secured his spot in the top three winning the first-runner  up position followed  by DJ Shubham  from Mumbai who came a close third.

    Honouring  Excellence  in Sound Recording  and Audio Production, the 12th consecutive  India Recording Arts  Academy  Awards  (IRAA)  marked  a  grand  celebration  attended  by  stalwarts  of  the  Indian  Music industry. What began as a small gathering, 12 years ago, to honour the relatively unrecognized sound engineering talent in the country became a tremendous success this year, as the awards platform achieved critical attention from the fraternity, many of whom were present in strength at the awards ceremony that took place in Hall 4 of the BEC, Mumbai on 2nd June, 2018.  A. R. Rahman, India’s most celebrated Indian composer, singer-songwriter,  and music producer presented the posthumous award for Life Time Achievement  in Sound Recording  to his lifelong sound engineer H. Sridhar. The award was accepted by H. Sridhar’s son, Vinay Sridhar. Also motivating the other winners of the evening by presenting them with their well-earned trophies was Indian playback singer – Sonu Nigam, Music Composer duo Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa and legendary Indian percussionist – Sivamani.

    The PALM Live Arena, which showcased a mesmerizing display of stage technology and sound, was once again a tremendous success with buyers thronging the arena on all three days of the show.

    With the aim of delivering Business education and an interactive exchange of ideas and knowledge, the two parallel Conference Programmes at the PALM Expo, namely PALM Conference & Seminar programme and PALM Soundscape programme were more varied and wide-ranging than ever before.

    The PALM Conference and Seminar Programme, which took place in the International Lounge of Hall 1, covered  three dedicated  themes  – Stage Sound & Light, Audiovisual  and Music Production,  across  the three days of the show and boasted of expert speakers. Thousands of attendees  experienced  workshops, panel discussions  and seminars by industry leading professionals, focused  on topics such as Measuring And Aligning  Subwoofers,  Using  Dante  For Live  Sound  Events, Acoustics  In Auditorium  Design; Dolby Atmos Mixing – Concepts And Techniques, among others.

    PALM Expo 2018 introduced  the compact indoor line array demo at the show this year. This was the first time that an indoor  line array demo was oganised  anywhere  in the world. With the guidance  of famed Electro-Acoustic  consultant  – Milind Raorane, this feature achieved the highest level of acoustic control and monitoring.

    MUMBAI: The three-day PALM Conference & Seminar Programme 2017 will encompass highly informative and educational lectures, panel discussions, seminar sessions, company sponsored product presentations and workshops on subjects of relevance ranging from stage sound & light, AV install & integration & install to music production industry.

    Inspiring, Informing and Educating are a stellar line up of ace speakers who have excelled in their respective fields. The first day of the conference programme will witness a session on ‘When Lighting & Sound Interact with Becket Tundatil’ which will be moderated by Pankaj Pawan. In this session, the conference delegates will learn about Becket’s unique lighting design on screen. This will be followed by a YAMAHA Seminar Session on VCM technoloy by Toshifumi Kunimoto, Fellow – Research & Development Division Technology Unit, Yamaha Corporation.

    The attendee’s will also stand a chance to gain tips and secrets in the live sound realm, with the informative session-“Going LIVE with leading FOH Engineer Fali Damania”.

    Day 1 will end with Entertainment Event Management Session-HOW TO PLAN A MID-SCALE EVENT – Tech Perspective.     MUMBAI: The 14th successive PALM expo organised by Diversified Communications India fulfilled the scope and potential of the largest ever show in India. The internationally supported PALM India features the maximum number of manufacturers and leading brands ever – including Yamaha, Sennheiser, Shure, JBL, AKG, Soundcraft, Martin Lights, Robe, KV2, TOA, Prolyte, Bose, Bosch, Osram, Sonodyne, Phillips, Neutrik, among others.

     

    All International Brands’ Senior Management expressed complete satisfaction with the PALM organisation, in providing satisfactory and very high standards in all services, from registration process to a very high percentage of interested visitors of professional background.

    The highlight of the PALM Expo as in the past years is the HARMAN Live Arena, which was once again a huge attraction. The creation and construction of the Demo Qube exhibit at the PALM was a winner with the target delegates as this novel idea and its successful delivery at the PALM exhibited a tremendous effort and solution for the pro light and sound industry to provide original demo environment. “The Qube was very productive and leads to business and contributes to the growth and development of the market in India. The PALM deserves Kudos for fulfilling a need for professional demo space.”

     

    The PALM 2014 and its unique features covered a gross space of 18,000 sqm. Stage Sound and Lighting equipment + DJ Gear + Music Production and AV Install was showcased in Hall 1, the Qube Ground, Line Array Compound and Hall 5 Annex featuring the Harman Live Arena. Hall 2A was specially dedicated to registration of 18,000 attendees and visitor services including the PALM Souvenir Store. The Conference was held in the International Lounge. Concurrently the Music Expo was held in Hall 2B + 2C.

     

    Visitor Profile

    PALM 2014 marked a dramatic increase in turnout of pre-registered delegates and the highest growth for day one visitor registration at 57% with 6,353 visitors, with “very high quality profile”.

     

    Total attendance increased 28% to 20,966 trade visitors.

     

    The 14th Consecutive PALM show this year brought out not only the highest turnout ever but the largest component of industry buyers and professionals. Predictably the Stage Sound and Lighting + Event Production and DJs comprised 55% of visitors, this includes rental companies, entertainment media and event management.

     

    A trend was visible in the second largest visitor profile registered, from the AV Install and Systems Integration segment, comprising 31% of 18,000 visitors. This segment was from House of Worship, Education, Hospitality, performance Venues – Malls, Theatres, Auditorium, Theme Parks.

     

    Music production and studio segment comprised of 12% including the project studio category.

     

    Industry Awards

    The 8th IRAA (Indian Recording Arts Awards) ceremony was hosted at the PALM 2014 in the Features Hall. The renowned Andy Munro received the Global Innovation in Studio Design, applauding him was the largest gathering of sound engineers and studio owners. Daman Sood was awarded the IRAA Life Time Achievement Award.

     

    The 3rd PALM Sound and Light Awards were hosted at the PALM Exhibitors’ reception party. The 4th DJ Championship was held in the Features Hall with its highest participation. The DJ Soundscape with the added Conference and Workshop attracted hundreds of professional DJs.
