    Sahara film unit to release animation film ‘Hanuman’ on 21 October

    MUMBAI: Sahara One Motion Pictures will release its animation epic Hanuman on 21 October. The film is produced by Percept Picture Company in association with Silvertoon.

     

    Hanuman is about the extraordinary journey of this mythical superhero — from his days as an adorable, miracle-working baby, to his ultimate triumph in the army of Lord Shri Ram.

     

    Says Sahara One CEO Shantonu Aditya, “Animation has always been viewed as kids stuff, but Hanuman has the complete package of songs, storyline and excellent animation that will make it engrossing, inspirational entertainment for both, kids and grown-ups alike. Hanuman will provide fans of animation a whole new entertainment experience.”

     

    This film has been directed by animation guru VG Samant. With painstaking efforts across a period of two years, Samant created over 200,000 individual images along with 40 individual characters for the film. He was backed by a vast creative team of cell animation artists, states an official release.

     

    Hanuman has been recorded officially as India ‘s first indigenous animation film in the Limca Book of Records’ 2004 edition. It is also for the first time that a film has been dedicated to this great Indian mythological hero, with rare insights into his personality and character, the release adds.

     

    The film has soundtrack composed by Tapas Relia. Playback singers including Shaan, Sonu Nigam, Palash Sen, Kailash Kher, Saapna Mukherjee, Madhushri and Sneha Path have sung for the film.

    ‘[V] Super Singer’ finale simulcast on Star Network

    MUMBAI: Channel [v] has adopted the simulcast strategy for the grande finale of Super Singer, for 2 April at 8 pm on four channels of the Star Network.

    Star Network viz. Star Plus, Star Gold, Star One and of course Channel [v] will showcase the finale of the show.

    The show will also feature big names of the music industry to perform one cover version and one original track which had been specially composed for them by leading music directors and lyricists like Sandeep Chowta, Palash Sen, Pritam, Medival Punditz and Abbas Tyrewala, informs a media release

    It is interesting to take into account that the channel had adopted the similar strategy for the prior talent hunt Pop Star 1 and 2.

    Kids’ hunt series on Hungama TV

    MUMABI: The Hungama TV kids’ hunt was conducted before beaming the channel. The talent hunt will be on air from 10 October at 6 pm. This series will be shown every Sunday followed by a repeat on next Saturday at 2:30 pm.

     
    The hunt will also bring the exclusive behind-the scenes action. The hunt came to a close last September. The 13 episode series will have kids from Mumbai, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad, Indore, Kolkata, Delhi, Lucknow, Ludhiana and Jaipur. Approximately 10,000 children were shortlised from over 1.5 lakh entries, notes a media release.

    The already slected 20 Hungama TV captains will be the decisive force of Hungama TV. The half an hour series will culminate with the Grand Final. The grand finale across two shows will be an one hour each whereby the host Roshan Abbas will declare the names of the lucky two captiains from each city.

    The show will also feature exclusive performances by judges Palash Sen of Euphoria and Channel V Popstars 2 Aasman.

  • [V]’s ‘Popstars 2’ band ready and raring to go

    MUMBAI: The chosen four have finally arrived. Star’s music arm, Channel [V], in a televised version of Coke Popstars 2 announced the final band, a special media introduction is scheduled on Friday.


    While the first edition had an all girl band, this time around there are two girls and two guys who form the band. The lucky munda’s to make it to final four are Mumbai’s Sangeet Haldipur and Jaipur’s Jimmy Felix, while both the kudi’s shortlisted, Neeti Mohan & Vasudha Sharma are from Delhi. Currently, the lucky four are gearing up for their first public concert next month.
    While a huge media blitz accompanied the first edition and this time around the publicity fervor was relatively less, partially because the channel had already managed to establish the brand last year. With the first edition of the Popstars hunt turning the channel’s fortunes around, the second edition already has the audience tuning in to get their dose of a reality show.
    While the newest Popstars find are still trying to tune into their newfound celebrity status, Popstars VIVA have just launched a new music album titled Viva Reloaded.
    The new Coke [v] Popstars 2 band members were chosen after a talent search that covered 7 cities across the country featuring over 15,000 young aspirants. After hours of rigorous auditions by the judging panel of lead singer of a Indi-pop band Euphoria Palash Sen, Indi-pop singer Mehnaaz and Channel [v] VJ Purab.
    Amongst the chosen four is the Mumbai boy Sangeet Haldipur, a former student of a St Xavier’s College who has studied piano, both western classical and jazz. He is a singer, composer, lyricist and musician all rolled in one, says a company release.
    While Jimmy Felix, the lucky munda from Jaipur, has been creating and performing music for as long as he can remember. Born and brought up in Jaipur, Jimmy is an MBA and a fitness freak to boot.
    Delhiite Neeti Mohan has studied Indian classical ballet, jazz dance and ballet. Besides singing and dancing, she also has flair for acting, says the release. Vasudha Sharma was sociology student from Delhi’s Hindu College. Trained in Hindustani classical music at the Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, she’s has a versatile voice and great skills on the keyboard and guitar.
    According to media reports, the channel had zeroed down on the final four almost a month ago and now they have already begun work on their album. Palash Sen, Jatin-Lalit, Salim-Sulaiman, Sanjay Divecha, Ashutosh-Dhruv and Vishal Bhardwaj are the composers to work on the band’s first album. While Vasudha has penned one song, others have been penned by Sameer, Palash Sen and Munna Dheman.
