    Madhur Bhandarkar attends the Indian Film Week in Russia

    MUMBAI: Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, who has quite a few awards and critical acclaims in his kitty including a National Award for his film Fashion, recently got another appreciation.

     

    The filmmaker, who visited Russia to attended The Indian Film Week In Russia from 25 November to 3 December, 2013 organised by the Indian Embassy, Moscow in association with the Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Center, Moscow, was felicitated by the Indian Ambassador of Russia, Ajai Malhotra in Moscow for his contribution to Indian Cinema.

     

    Besides, two of Bhandarkar’s films, Heroine and Page 3 were also screened during the week.

    Keeping up the trend that started last year, Molecule Communications (P) Ltd. proudly announces its second annual conference Ticket to Bollywood II “Cinema Beyond Boundaries” for film industry professionals from the East and West at New York.

     

    This event is a platform for the filmmakers from around the globe to recount experiences in the field and discuss the tricks of the trade. Film professionals who define the new global cinema movement and have given rise to the new globally interconnected film industry would be a part of the symposium.

     

    This year producer and director Madhur Bhandarkar who is known for films like Chandni Bar, Satta, Page 3, Corporate, Fashion, Jail, Heroine and Advaita Kala, writer of Kahaani and Anjaana Anjaani would represent the East. Brooklyn based director Micheal Canzoniero known for Don Peyote (2013) starring Anne Hathaway and Josh Duhamel; actor, comedian and singer and co-writer and co- director of Don Peyote, Tony Award winner Dan Fogler who starred in Balls of Fury, director and producer Vladan Nikolic and actors Saritha Choudhry, Ajay Naidu and Reshma Shetty from the west would grace the event. Other speakers would be Dylan Marchetti of Variance films and Elliott Kanbar, president of the Quad Media in New York. Wayne Sharpe, the versatile music composer from New York who has composed music scores for Gangaajal, Apaharan, Raajneeti would also be a speaker at the event.

     

    Continuing the last year’s format for the event where the filmmakers gave insights, talked openly about their successes and failures, the mistakes they made and the lessons they learnt; the event aims at ensuring that the invitees would gain enough knowledge.

     

    “Bollywood is in my blood and my passion however the event is not restricted to song dance or action, it is beyond that. I love dhinchak sequences from Bollywood, larger than life visuals of Hollywood and Pakistani music. We are audiences who like content and for us entertainment isn’t restricted to countries and their boundaries. Redefining world cinema is what we aim at. Thanks to my brother Ajay Shrivastav (New York) who took this initiative,” said Kiren Shrivastav, CEO Molecule Communications.

     

    This three- day event would focus on the global influence of Indian cinema, forecast changes in the fast growing and rapidly evolving filmmaking industry. Actors, directors, writers and music directors would gather to share how it is to make cinema by blending different cultures and to bring them beyond the Indian Diaspora.

    Excited about this conference, Madhur said, “Indian cinema is no more limited to audiences in India. We have viewers all around the world and hence understanding the global perspective is a must. Molecule Communications’ Cinema Beyond Boundaries would get the viewers and the filmmakers together and would help us in serving them with good quality cinema.”

     

    As Indian cinema celebrates its 100 years of existence, Cinema Beyond Boundaries (CBB) would capture the flavours of Bollywood, take a look at the past and discuss what would be in store for Indian cinema in the next 100 years. CBB would focus on screenwriting trends, co- production opportunities and international film financing to connect the world’s most important film industries.

    MUMBAI: Zoom has lined up a series of specials this New Year with the best of the past. It is offering a complete bonanza of sorts with shows like Maximum Style, Popkorn Newz, Page 3, Santa and Banta Unlimited and more.

    Maximum Style, will take a tour of the trends that ruled the ramp in 2006 in the New year special episode on 29 December at 8:30 pm.

    The New Year special episode will give an insight into the trends that the fashion guru’s predict for the coming season.

    Popkorn Newz will focus on the the top ten Bollywood controversies of the year: from Ash-Abhishek marriage rumours to Aamir’s Fanaa controversy. Popkorn Newz New Year special will also bring to light the trivia of Rakhi- Mika fight.

    The Best of Popkorn Newz, the new year special episode, will be aired on 30 December at 8 pm and will also showcase the controversy of Ekta kapoor boycotting Indian Television Awards.

    Page 3 New Year special will be a recollection of the exclusive news and controversies of the year 2006. The Best of Page 3 will air on 30 December at 7 pm and will bring minute by minute account of the the biggest of superstar wars from Salman- John’s rift to Amitabh- Shah Rukh’s stand-off.

    Santa and Banta Unlimited, Zoom’s foray into comedy, will bring the top five interviews of 2006 on the show. The special interviews of Bappi Lahiri, Shaan, Chunkey Pandey, Arjun Rampal and Riya Sen with Siddharth Kannan and Baba Saigal will be aired on 1 January at 8:30 pm.

    Zoom Glam Awards 2006 recognises stylish stalwarts on 30 April

    MUMBAI: In an era where award shows are a dime a dozen, glamour and lifestyle channel Zoom announces a unique event – The Zoom Glam Awards 2006 for the stylish stalwarts in society. Today, styles are changing with dizzying velocity, evolving as rapidly as the insatiable media has expanded to chronicle the individuals who epitomize sophisticated style.

    These awards are a logical extension of the Zoom brand identity of being a ‘Glamour & Lifestyle Television’ channel. It is going to be a real annual event, not episodic as our earlier initiatives as far as programming is concerned.”

    A group of experts are currently deliberating a list of nominees. Finally, it will be the channel that decides the winners from the names thrown up. The awards will maintain an exceedingly premium and aspirational look to them in all ground executions and marketing communications. The promos will start airing from 17 April and it will be written about in all publications and channels that belong to the parent group. The campaign designed will definitely have high curiosity value among those who matter in every field.

    The award ceremony is scheduled for 30 April at the Hilton Towers in Mumbai and is expected to be attended by the country’s glitterati. “We hope to create the glamour and excitement of a first class event for a select audience of 250 people complete with red carpet and press interviews of arriving guests. To some glitz and glamour, add a few sequences performed to international standards, then sprinkle this concoction with some industry stalwarts getting felicitated and you have the recipe for a perfect evening of mind-blasting niche entertainment, ” says Anand.
