    Industry bodies asked to take forward campaign on IPRs

    NEW DELHI: Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion Secretary Ramesh Abhishek today stressed the importance of innovation in a knowledge driven economy and the need to promote Intellectual Property Rights..

    He asked Industry Associations to take forward the campaign for IPR Awareness in keeping with the first objective of the National IPR Policy: IPR Awareness, Outreach and Promotion.

    The Secretary was speaking while flagging off the awareness campaign to build on the initial momentum created by the pilot roadshows conducted by Cell for IPR Promotion and Management (CIPAM) which received heartening response from all stakeholders.

    CIPAM, a professional body under DIPP, has already conducted a pilot round of awareness roadshows across 18 states of the country over June-July 2016 in partnership with industry associations.

    Joint Secretary Rajiv Aggarwal highlighted his vision for the IPR awareness campaign.

    CIPAM gave a presentation on the National IPR Policy and the future Roadmap for the implementation of the IPR Policy.

    The industry associations have extended their full support to the campaign and gave various ideas on how to take the awareness campaign forward for all IPRs. Discussions were held on the mode of dissemination of information and promotional content at various levels – schools, college and industry.

    A nation-wide awareness campaign on IPR will be launched by the Department which will be taken forward by CIPAM in collaboration with Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM) and Industry Associations.

    Tony Lai new MediaCorp MD, Experiences and Outreach

    New Delhi, 22 May: Tony Lai has been appointed Managing Director, Experiences and Outreach, for MediaCorp from 3 June 2013, according to the announcement in Singapore.

     

    In his new appointment, Tony will report to MediaCorp CEO Shaun Seow, looking after events, out-of-home, retail and business-to-consumer businesses.

     

    Tony started his career with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and moved on to various public and private sector roles, before re-joining STB as its Assistant CEO in 2009. Prior to his re-appointment at STB, he was Managing Director of The Idea Factory, an innovation-focused strategy consulting business.

     

    Earlier, MediaCorp’s Suat Jien Lim, Managing Director, Television, had resigned with effect from 7 April. Her resignation came a year after she assumed the MD role, increasing her portfolio of Channel 5 and okto to overseeing programming and promotions for the entire portfolio of free-to-air channels under the broadcaster – Channels 5, 8, U, okto, Suria, and Vasantham; with the exclusion of the news channel Channel NewsAsia.

    Outreach wins advertising rights of Jorhat Municipal

    MUMBAI: North East India‘s OOH services provider Outreach Advertising has bagged a 15-year contract from the Jorhat Municipal Board.

    The OOH media will include unipoles, gantries, traffic signals and the only FOB (foot over bridge) in the busy upper Assam town which is only next to Guwahati in the state.

    Outreach Advertising MD Sunit Jain said, “It is a defining moment for all of us. This is a very significant development and very much a part of our strategy to significantly increase our footprint in the robustly growing North Eastern market. This will be the first occasion that the region will experience unipoles.”

    Outreach offers several services in context to full circle OOH service like billboards, hoardings, bus shelters, modern traffic signal system, public conveniences, street lamps.

    Outreach has presence across malls, multiplexes and coffee shops across Guwahati, it offers ambient advertising solutions using conventional and innovative media vehicles. In 2011, Outreach introduced Pedal-Ads which are tri-cycles driven by promoters to take the display with the clients‘ audiences.
