    Chrome week 49: Hindi News & Sports genres top the charts

    MUMBAI: The Hindi News and Sports genres were the only two gainers in Chrome’s opportunity to see (OTS) analysis on an All India basis in week 49.

     

    The Hindi News genre witnessed the hike of 0.1 per cent and India TV bagged the first spot in the genre with 94.1 per cent OTS.

     

    The Sports segment emerged as the second gainer in the list and gained 0.1 per cent with DD sports topping the chart with 74 per cent OTS.

     

    English Movies, English Entertainment, Hindi Movies and Infotainment genres were among the losers of week 49.

     

    English Movies in six metros dropped by three per cent. Movies Now was the most affected channel in the genre with 56 per cent OTS followed by English Entertainment with a downfall of 1.7 per cent and Comedy Central led the tally in the space with 48.6 OTS.

     

    The Hindi Movies genre across Hindi Speaking Market (HSM) saw a drop of 0.7 per cent with Max on the top with 92.6 per cent OTS.

     

    Infotainment on All India basis dropped by 0.6 per cent and History TV18 emerged as the number one channel in the section with 79.3 per cent OTS.

    Chrome Week 39: Zee Cafe tops English entertainment genre

    MUMBAI: The English Entertainment channels’ genre continues to stand ahead of the others and has secured leadership position with a growth of 3.8 per cent. In the genre, Zee Café was seen at the top with 50.3 per cent opportunity to see (OTS) in week 39 as per Chrome Data Analytics and Media.

     

    In the second slot was the sports channels genre with a hike of 0.9 per cent  across India. DD Sports continued to led the genre with 74.4 per cent OTS in the segment. 

     

    In third spot was the Infotainment genre, which witnessed a hike of 0.4 per cent. DD Kisan led the section with 81.5 per cent OTS.

     

    In the Hindi speaking market (HSM), the Hindi general entertainment channels (GEC) genre witnessed 0.4 per cent hike with DD National leading with 96.4 per cent OTS.

     

    In the six metros, Business News was amongst the top losers and witnessed a fall of 3.1 per cent with CNBC Awaaz leading the genre with  75.6 OTS. This was followed by English News in six metros in second place, which was down by 1.6 per cent with Lok Sabha TV leading the genre with 87.2 per cent OTS.

     

    The Hindi News segment across HSM saw a drop of 1.5 per cent and India TV led the tally in the space with 95 per cent OTS.

     

    Music genre dropped by 1.4 per cent in HSM with 9XM on top of the chart with 86.4 per cent OTS.

    MUMBAI: English Entertainment genre led the pack in the six metros with growth of 9.3 per cent with Comedy Central at the top of the chart with 49.4 per cent opportunity to see (OTS) in week 37 of OTS data collated by Chrome Data, Analytics and Media.
     
    Second on the list is the English Movies genre in six metros, which witnessed three per cent growth. Movies Now bagged the pole position in the section with 60.3 per cent OTS.

     

    Infotainment genre secured third berth across India with 0.8 per cent OTS with History TV18 leading in the genre with 81.6 per cent OTS.

     

    In Hindi Speaking Market (HSM), Hindi Movies genre grabbed fourth position with 0.6 per cent, with Zee Cinema topping the list with 92.7 per cent OTS.

     
    Amongst the losers this week were Business news, sports and music channels.

     

    Business News section in six metros witnessed a drop by 0.4 per cent with CNBC Awaaz securing the first position with 79.5 per cent OTS.

     

    Sports genre across India dropped by 0.3 per cent and saw DD Sports securing the top slot with 74 per cent OTS.

     

    Music genre in HSM dropped by 0.2 per cent. 9XM with 88.1 per cent emerged as the most affected channel in the genre.

    MUMBAI: In week seven of opportunity to see (OTS) collated by Chrome Data Analytics & Media, the only gainer were Hindi general entertainment channels (GECs) in the Hindi speaking market (HSM). 

     

    The genre saw an insignificant jump of 0.1 per cent with DD National topping the chart with 96.7 per cent OTS.

     

    As for the losers, the eight metros saw the maximum fall. English Entertainment channels in the eight metros led the way with 2.7 per cent fall. Comedy Central with 55.1 OTS topped the genre.

     

    Kids channels across the country witnessed a drop of one per cent with Cartoon Network continuing its reign in the genre with 80.2 per cent OTS.

     

    English Movies and English News both saw a drop of 1.8 per cent in the eight metros. Movies Now with 65.5 per cent OTS and Times Now with 77.3 per cent OTS topped their respective genres.

    MUMBAI: In week six of opportunity to see (OTS) collated by Chrome Data Analytics & Media, English News channels in the eight metros gained the maximum.

    With 1.9 per cent growth, the genre saw Times Now retaining its supremacy with 78 per cent OTS.

    Infotainment channels across India gained 0.8 per cent with Discovery topping the genre with 83.8 per cent OTS.

    Next in line were English movies in eight metros with 0.4 per cent jump and Hindi movies in the Hindi speaking market (HSM) with 0.2 per cent. Movies Now with 66 per cent OTS and Zee Cinema with 94.7 per cent OTS topped in their respective genre.

    As for the losers, Religious channels in the HSM saw the maximum drop of 3.3 per cent. Aastha with 97.1 per cent OTS continued its reign in the genre.

    Kids channels across India and Hindi News channels in the HSM saw a drop of 0.8 per cent and 0.1 per cent respectively. Cartoon Network with 80.7 per cent OTS and ABP News with 95.5 per cent OTS gained the maximum in their respective genres.

    MUMBAI: Week 5 of 2015 saw more fall than rise in the opportunity to see (OTS) collated by Chrome Data Analytics & Media.

     

    The only genre to see a rise was Religious in the Hindi Speaking Market (HSM). In the category, which saw a marginal jump of 0.6 per cent, Aastha channel continued its supremacy with 97.1 per cent OTS.

     

    As for the losers, the maximum drop was witnessed by English Movies channels in the eight metros. It fell by 4.4 per cent. Movies Now with 66.4 per cent OTS topped the chart in the genre.

     

    Business News in the eight metros saw a drop of 3.4 per cent followed by English News with 2.3 per cent drop.

     

    CNBC Awaaz with 81.4 per cent OTS and Times Now with 78.1 per cent OTS topped their respective genres.

     

    In the eight metros, English Entertainment channels too saw a drop of 1.4 per cent. However, Comedy Central with 56.6 per cent OTS remained on top.

    MUMBAI: Sports channels across India saw the highest jump of 1.7 per cent when it comes to opportunity to see (OTS) collated by Chrome Data Analytics & Media.

     

    DD Sports with 74.4 per cent OTS led the charge in the category.

     

    English Entertainment channels in the eight metros and Infotainment channels across India witnessed 0.5 per cent jump. In their respective categories, Comedy Central with 60 per cent OTS and Discovery with 84.9 per cent OTS topped the charts.

     

    In the Hindi speaking marketing (HSM), Hindi Movie channels saw a 0.4 per cent hike. Zee Cinema with 95.3 per cent OTS gained the most in the genre.

     

    As for the losers, Hindi GECs in the HSM and English News in the eight metros saw a marginal drop of 0.4 per cent.

     

    Star Plus with 97 per cent OTS and Times Now with 79.8 per cent OTS reigned their respective genres.

    MUMBAI: The English News in the eight metros gained the most when it comes to opportunity to see (OTS) collated by Chrome Data Analytics & Media for the week 52.

    The channels in the category jumped by 1.5 per cent with Times Now continuing its supremacy in the genre with 80.8 per cent OTS.

    Hindi News and Hindi GECs saw a 0.6 per cent and 0.2 per cent rise, respectively, in the Hindi speaking market (HSM). ABP News with 95.8 per cent OTS and Star Plus with 97 per cent OTS ruled their respective genres.

    Across India, Infotainment channels too saw a rise of 0.2 per cent. Discovery reigned the genre with 85.2 per cent OTS.

    As for top losers, English Entertainment channels in the eight metros saw the steepest fall with 4.3 per cent OTS. Comedy Central with 61.4 per cent OTS toppled AXN in the genre.

    English Movies too fell by 0.9 per cent in the eight metros. Movies Now topped the charts with 68.2 per cent OTS.

    In the HSM, Religious channels and Music channels fell by 0.6 per cent and 0.5 per cent, respectively. Aastha with 95.8 per cent OTS and MTV with 90.2 per cent OTS gained in their respective genres.

    MUMBAI: The week 50 of opportunity to see (OTS) collated by Chrome Data Analytics & Media breathed a little sigh of relief as genres saw an upward trend.

    With 1.6 per cent hike, English News in the eight metros led the path. Times Now, continuing its reign in the genre, gained 80.7 per cent OTS.

    Business News in eight metros and Infotainment channels across India saw 1.1 per cent and 0.5 per cent jump. CNBC Awaaz with 81 per cent OTS and Discovery with 85.5 per cent topped their respective genres.

    As for the top loser, in the eight metros, English Entrainment channel saw a drop of 3.5 per cent. AXN with 63.4 per cent OTS gained the most in the category.

    Sports channels across India too saw a drop of 1.6 per cent with DD Sports topping the genre with 73 per cent OTS.

    English Movies in the eight metros and Hindi News in the Hindi speaking market (HSM) witnessed a drop of 0.8 per cent OTS and 0.6 per cent OTS, respectively.

    Movies Now with 68.3 per cent OTS and ABP News with 95.3 per cent OTS gained in their respective genres.

    The week 48 saw only one gainer with 0.1 per cent. Religious channels in the Hindi speaking market (HSM) gained the marginal per cent with Aastha topping the genre with 96.8 per cent OTS.

     

    As for the losers, English Entertainment channels in the eight metros saw a steep fall of 10.4 per cent. AXN with 63.5 per cent OTS was the leader in the genre.

     

    English Movies and English News followed with 6.4 per cent and 6 per cent fall, respectively. Movies Now with 68.1 per cent OTS and Times Now with 80.7 per cent OTS gained the most in their respective genres.

     

    Across India, Infotainment channels too fell by 3.4 per cent. Discovery with 85.5 per cent OTS continued its reign in the category.
