My son is also of a similar age and hearing about this one-of-a-kind quiz makes me hopeful that the kids will learn a lot about our sacred scripture.

We all want to impart the right knowledge to our kids, and OMTV’s storytelling approach is the best way to do it. Now, this new avenue excites me, as it gives me an opportunity to learn more about Ramayan. I’m thrilled to be part of the Ramayan Quiz and eagerly looking forward to my first day of shooting and meeting all the kids.”

Founder Nitin Jai Shukla further emphasised Snehil’s positive attributes stating, “Snehil is a very versatile person and truly an amazing human being. I have known her for a very long time now. She is successful and puts her heart into whatever she does. We at OMTV are committed to reaching out to the future generation with our modern web shows and kids’ content. So, with the Ramayan Quiz, the idea is not just to make kids read Ramayan, but to inculcate its teachings through a fun quiz format. We aim to reach out to kids and help them learn the values of Indian culture in an engaging manner. Snehil will bring in a lot of youthful energy, and she has a special connection with kids. I’m excited to have her on board for this project.”

OMTV looks to widen audience outreach with Jain specific content

Mumbai: ‘Ahimsa Parmo Dharma’ is not merely a term for Jains; it is a way of life, and OMTV is using its platform to promote this idea and knowledge of Jainism throughout society.

With the broadcast of the Jain Mahaparv live event, OMTV enters into the Jainism content space and takes a step towards fulfilling its commitment of spreading knowledge on sanatan dharma which includes Hinduism, Jainism, Buddhism and Sikhism.

India, the broadcaster noted, is a land of many festivals, and celebrations occur throughout the year. However, the four-month period beginning with Shravan is the most significant in sanatan dharma, as this is when the most important festivals of the Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain faiths are celebrated.

The great gurus, sages, and sannyasis of India have all endeavoured to preach peace and love to all living beings. To commemorate the concept of nonviolence, Jainism’s spiritual leaders have this yearly event of Vyakhyaan.

The platform will broadcast the knowledge and teachings of Jainism’s greatest gurus in real time. Lord Mahavir’s teachings will be disseminated by diverse gurus from all throughout India. OMTV is aggregating the live feeds of several gurus from various regions of India so that anyone in the world can view the Vyakhyan on the OMTV mobile application.

Chaturmas is characterised as ‘Vihar Chariya Isinam Pasattha’ by Lord Mahavir. The four months Shravan, Bhadrapada, Ashwin, and Kartik comprise the sacred period of Chaturmas in the Hindu calendar. It begins with Devshayani Ekadashi (Ashadhi Ekadashi) and culminates with Prabodhani Ekadashi. It is a season of devotion, penance, and spiritual pursuits. According to Jainism, all insects and microorganisms that are not visible to the naked eye become extremely active during the monsoon season. In such a scenario, these creatures may be damaged owing to the excessive human movement. The most significant Jain holiday, Pajushan, is observed in chaturmas. All that needs to come out and be available to the man on the street in a readily available medium of OTT is now expected to be the order of the day. OMTV was launched during the pandemic and strives to be synonymous with quality content related to Indian culture. The app is available on both Android and iOS and is based on subscription video on demand. OMTV has been associated with short video apps Chingari and Josh and has clocked 100 million+ views and one lakh followers on these apps. It has also collaborated with Magic Box Animation Studios, one of the country’s biggest animation content providers.

The content that one will see on OMTV will either enhance your knowledge base (Gyan) or make you feel proud (Garv) about your culture and therefore reinforce the Indian value system. Over time, OMTV intends to be the aggregator of the content that deals with Indian Sanatan culture. It features a range of content from mythology, history, education, and similar genres.

Post this funding, OMTV is also looking to produce a lot of original content. There is great demand for content that can inform and educate people about the correct values through entertainment. Storytelling is a powerful medium and the best way to communicate, transfer and impart knowledge. All the shows on OMTV will reflect compelling Indian stories and showcase the rich Indian culture.
