    Tarun Sinha appointed ad biz head for OLX

    MUMBAI: OLX, online classifieds marketplace for auto, real estate, goods and services, has appointed Tarun Sinha as the business head for advertising.

    In his new role, Sinha will head the advertising strategy and operations of the company and will report to OLX India general manager Momtaz Moussa.

    Commenting on his appointment, Moussa adds, “We are happy to welcome Tarun to the OLX family, in midst of the exciting phase of our growth in India. His market expertise and new perspective will strengthen the great team we already have in place for advertising. We are serious about cementing ourselves as one of the country’s top advertising destinations, and Tarun’s appointment will help us build key relationships that deliver value to our clients.”

    He brings with him nearly 15 years of experience in sales and business development, having previously worked at Times Internet. During his seven-year tenure as the head of direct sales at Times Internet, a digital venture of BCCL Group, he was responsible for accelerating sales and relations for the company’s biggest clients across advertising and classifieds. Prior to Times Internet, he has worked with leading financial firms such as HSBC and Royal Bank of Scotland.

    Talking about his new role, Sinha says, “I am excited to take up this new role, working with a passionate team and a great brand. As a market leader in classifieds, OLX is in a great position to address a very pivotal space in the consumer purchase cycle.     Tarun holds a post graduate diploma in marketing from Symbiosis Institute. He also studied an executive program in digital marketing and e-commerce for businesses, from Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

  • Advantage Media enters India, partners White Rivers

    MUMBAI: Denmark-based Advantage Media ventures into the Indian Market, through a collaboration with White Rivers Media, to bring their proprietary Remarketing Tool to the country. White Rivers Media will be the exclusive representative of this tool in the Indian Sub-Continent. With this collaboration, together they aim to provide strategic online re-targeting solutions tothe top eCommerce players in India.

    The collaboration plans to deliver definitive value to the eCommerce industry in terms of improved Conversion Rates and Personalized Retargeting. They will be closely working with the Confederation of Danish Industry to create mutually beneficial solutions for companies from both the countries.

  • Lowe Lintas appoints Naveen Gaur as COO

    MUMBAI: MullenLowe Lintas Group has announced the elevation of Naveen Gaur as the chief operating officer, Lowe Lintas. He was until now the president of Lowe Lintas in charge of the New Delhi (NCR) operations.

    Effective immediately, Naveen would oversee Lowe Lintas’ offices in New Delhi (NCR), Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata. He continues to be based in New Delhi and will report to Raj Gupta, whose elevation to CEO, Lowe Lintas was announced a few days back.

    Commenting on the appointment, MullenLowe Lintas Group chairman & CEO Joseph George said: “Naveen has played a significant role in strengthening Lowe Lintas’ operations of New Delhi (NCR) and has had an incredibly successful run the past 5 years.     MUMBAI: Leo Burnett India has bagged India’s sole gold at the 2016 edition of the Epica Awards for its ‘Reuniting Memories from 1947’ (Dastaan) campaign for OLX.

    Excited about the wins, Leo Burnett south Asia chief creative officer RajDeepak Das said, “When we realised that OLX is the no. 1 marketplace for used goods in India and Pakistan, we saw an opportunity to help people reunite with their priceless pre-Partition belongings and memories; we received thousands of stories from both sides in no time.”

    Additionally, its work for Bajaj V, ‘Sons of Vikrant’, too bagged a bronze. The Epica Awards celebrate work from advertising, design, media, PR and digital that has been chosen by renowned journalists from the marketing and communications fraternity, across the world.

    The work for OLX bagged the Gold under the ‘Native Advertising’ category, while Bajaj V’s campaign won for ‘Films & Series’.

    The wins have even played their part in helping Leo Burnett secure the coveted ‘Network of the Year’ title this year, by bagging 49 metals to its name including 12 gold.

    On the other hand BBDO New York claimed the agency of the year title with 19 wins which includes a gold.

    The Epica Awards were established in 1987, and is the only award that is judged by marketing and communications specialist journalists from over 60 publications, including magazines and websites, globally. The prize attracts entries from over 70 countries, each year. The ceremony was held in Amsterdam on 17 November.

    MUMBAI: Grey group India has appointed Aritra Chaudhuri as new senior creative director in its Bangalore office. Chaudhuri will be responsible for driving the agency’s creative mandate for its impressive mix of clients based out of Bangalore.

    Cannes Lions 2016: Six entries from India get shortlisted for Media Lions

    MUMBAI: Six entries from India have been shortlisted for the 63rd Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in the Media category.

    In the public, health and safety subcategory Tata Motors’ Dipper Condoms ad campaign, created by Rediffusion Y&R Mumbai has secured a position in the shortlist.

    HDFC Bank’s campaign Memories For Life was shortlisted as well for the agency Leo Burnett India (Mumbai) use of the digital platforms.

    ‘Lo Kar Lo Baat’,  Hindustan Unilever’s campaign for Active Wheel Detergent secured PHD India (Mumbai) for its use of mobile.

    In the use of co-creation and user generated content  OLX claimed a spot in the shortlist with ‘Reuniting Memories from 1947’ created by Leo Burnett India.

    The much talked about Bajaj V campaign has gotten Leo Burnett India its second shortlist in the category for its use of Branded Content created for Digital or Social Media. It must be noted that the campaign has already won a bronze metal in Promo and Activation Lion for Bajaj automobiles Bajaj V campaign.

    The sixth shortlisted entry from India is ‘beauty Tips By Reshma’ for Make Love Not Scars’s campaign against Acid Attacks  by Ogilvy and Mather Mumbai for its  use of integrated media.

    The awarding ceremony for the category will be announced on June 22, 2016 in Cannes.
