Allen Solly launches ‘Open Work Culture’ campaign

MUMBAI: Allen Solly launched its latest campaign by the name of ‘Open Work Culture’, recognising the importance of an employee friendly work environment in line with the brand philosophy of ‘Cool Work Wear’.

Conceptualised by Ogilvy, the campaign highlights new age working principles like using environmental friendly commutes, bringing pets to workplace, taking time off work, comfortable work spaces that encourage employees to pursue hobbies. The campaign launched with a TVC talking about pet friendly workplaces and followed it with the celebration of cool commutes to work.

Speaking about the campaign, Ogilvy senior CD Varun Katyal mentioned, “In the past, Allen Solly has redefined work wear. Carrying forward the same thought process, we cracked an idea that'll resonate with the workplace of the future and that's how #OpenWorkCulture was conceived. Now to launch this in cinema, we wowed our audience by making them experience an ad film rather than just watch it on the big screen. And that's what made it sticky and unforgettable."

Allen Solly COO Anil S Kumar said, “Allen Solly’s Open work culture is a fashionable and functional take on the new age work environment and needs. With the new age audience, it is important to connect with them and create a memorable and charming experience. This activation is another experiment in that direction wherein we celebrate the 'open work culture' with a Cinematic flair.”

Allen Solly also did an interesting site campaign at Phoenix Market City, Bangalore, promoting cool commutes to work. A guy came cycling into the theatre, just when the interval lights went on, and left the audience surprised. Once the stunt was over, the emcee took over and asked the audience if they cycled to work – keeping the philosophy of the campaign in sync. The viewers were also given free vouchers.

Courtyard By Marriott reveals new positioning

MUMBAI: Hospitality company Marriott International has  given one of its key brands – Courtyard by Marriott – an updated logo and look. On the occassion, the company has also launched a new ad film that reflects its new positioning focussing on what success means to its next generation of guests.

Created by Ogilvy  Mumbai, the campaign revolves around a day in the life of Garima Avtar – one of India’s top female rally drivers. It merges her stint on the track with her stay in the hotel seamlessly and reveals how the brand supports the champion in her passion for rally racing.

Ogilvy Mumbai group creative director Burzin Mehta said, “Speaking to one’s audience for the very first time is never easy. And this campaign was no different. But what stood out in this brief was the absolute synergy between the brand and its audience.”

He adds, “The spot, aptly titled Driven, tells the story of a real trailblazer – a female champion in a male-dominated sport. Unlike lots of hospitality advertising, this one’s not so much about rooms and restaurants as much as it is about mirroring the attitude of the consumer. And we’ve seamlessly merged two very different aspects of Garima’s life, to tell that story.”

Marriott International Asia Pacific vice president – brand and marketing Mike Fulkerson said, “The evolution of the Courtyard brand reflects the changing mindset of Courtyard’s “next generation of guests” –  trailblazers who have a different perception of success (it’s not just about climbing the career ladder, but more about chasing their personal and professional passions, and collecting experiences). The spot is an articulation of our shared belief system – the passion that drives you as a person, is the passion that drives us as a brand.”

Debuting with a video spot on CNBCTV18.com’s new digital series ‘Disruptors’ (of which Courtyard by Marriott is also a sponsor), the video will also run across other digital advertising platforms and the brand’s social media channels.

  • This Diwali Vodafone says, #LookUp

    This Diwali Vodafone says, #LookUp

MUMBAI: From meeting family members, shopping for colourful lanterns and new clothes, enjoying homemade sweets, to shopping online, exchanging greetings on mobile, share update on social media, get gifts delivered on our doorsteps – Diwali celebrations have changed over the years, losing some of its familial togetherness to the easy lure of the digital world. Identifying the need for people to connect and have real conversations, Vodafone is again encouraging us to #LookUp and this time around, celebrate Diwali with our families, by keeping down our devices.

Vodafone has launched a heart-warming video under its successful #LookUp campaign, urging viewers to celebrate Diwali with each other rather than with devices.

The film brings out the changing nature of Diwali celebrations seen through the eyes of a kid. It shows the contrast between how Diwali was celebrated traditionally by the child’s father with lots of love and warmth and how it is perhaps celebrated presently. With its stark difference, the film shows how technology sometimes takes over and people lose out on the connections that really matter.

Vodafone India EVP marketing Siddharth Banerjee says, “In the hyper-connected world, Vodafone again reiterates the need for real conversations, especially on occasions and festivals. Our #LookUp campaign has resonated well with our audience-generating online and offline talkability and driving up brand preference for Vodafone. Hence, after delighting our audiences on Valentine’s Day / Father’s Day and Friendship Day with #LookUp messages, this time around, we are extending our #LookUp philosophy to Diwali encouraging viewers to celebrate with family and friends in essence, the connections that really matter.”

Ogilvy executive creative director Kiran Anthony adds, “In this film we see a modern family through the eyes of a child who while excited to read his dad’s essay on Diwali, sees the family around him in complete contrast. Our endeavour is to remind people that while phones do play an integral part in our daily lives, it is perfectly fine to put them aside during those special occasions & celebrate with your loved ones.”
