ITC Mangaldeep unveils ‘Dil se Karo Baat, Bhagwan Ke Saath’ campaign

Mumbai: ITC Mangaldeep has announced its new campaign, ‘Dil se Karo Baat, Bhagwan Ke Saath,’ which translates to ‘Make God your close confidant.’ The campaign celebrates one’s divine connection with god. It illustrates the relationship between humans and god as that of between two friends where heartfelt conversations take place. With this campaign, the brand embraces a new positioning that encompasses a diverse set of lives, rituals, and ways of expressing beliefs.

The ‘Dil se Karo Baat, Bhagwan Ke Saath’ embarks on a journey of strengthening the bond we share with god and persuades us to be transparent with him as he is our confidant. This joyful campaign reimagines this connection, fostering a personal and friendly bond with god. Inspired by everyday interactions where individuals share worries, seek solace, express gratitude, and celebrate events, the campaign emphasizes the human need for intimate communication with the divine.

Being ‘an enabler of devotion and a sense of well-being’, the brand intends to be a part of both the grand festival celebrations as well as the prayers we do in between everyday moments. While Mangaldeep is an important part of temple visits, it also has a role to play in prayers which take place on the go, at workplaces, stadiums, and shops, when we are in need. The belief is that temples are the holy abode of our gods, but the brand also supports the perspective that god never leaves our side. Mangaldeep believes that prayers can bring our loved ones together while also strengthening our souls and creating a personal space of calm.

Speaking on the launch of this creative communication campaign, ITC chief executive of the matches & agarbatti business (MAB) Gaurav Tayal said, “This campaign aims to illustrate our connection with god. Through this campaign, we move beyond the idea of god solely residing in places of worship and instead emphasize the possibility of experiencing the divine presence throughout our daily lives. Through relatable scenarios, we showcase how this connection fosters not just a sense of respect for god’s power, but also a sense of companionship.”

To take this campaign to its target set of audiences, ITC Mangaldeep has launched a new ad visualised by Ogilvy India.

Speaking about the campaign, Ogilvy India group creative director Rajesh Mani said, “Who do we have a heart-to-heart with? Usually, someone we feel really close to. There’s a sense of ease and comfort that we feel. In this campaign, we ask people to speak to that one person who is in all our hearts – god. He is the 24X7 friend, philosopher, and guide. He doesn’t mind how you pray or for how long, as long as it’s from the heart, he will listen. Mangaldeep brings forth this beautiful thought in a slice-of-life fashion expertly capturing the nuances and champions devotion and devotees. This film is a beautiful blend of tradition and modernity that is at the core of Mangaldeep.”

In addition to the flagship TVC launch which will air from the 10 July in the states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, and Kerala, Mangaldeep has a set of social media and influencer activities planned in line to promote this new positioning among its consumers.

  • Kyoorius announces winners of the Kyoorius Creative Awards 2024

Kyoorius announces winners of the Kyoorius Creative Awards 2024

Mumbai: Kyoorius announced the winners of the 2024 Kyoorius Creative Awards, presented by ZEE, at a grand awards night held on 24 May at Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre amidst an audience of more than 1450 professionals from India’s marketing communications industry, the highest ever in its history.

No entry was conferred the super-exclusive, highly-coveted black elephant award that recognizes work deemed to be the best of show, though there were two contenders – “Motorola Deep Connect” for Motorola India by Dentsu Creative and “Megh Santoor” for Hindustan Unilever’s Brooke Bond Taj Mahal by Ogilvy India. For the first time ever, they were awarded baby black elephants.

Kyoorius also commemorated Bharat Ratna, and former Indian cricket captain, Sachin Tendulkar, with the master of creativity award. The honour celebrates cricket’s first true megabrand and a global icon, whose endorsements, brand associations and continued work in sports marketing paved the way for not just cricketers, but most Indian athletes. Instituted in 2018, the master of creativity award recognizes a stalwart who has continuously contributed to making the marketing and communication industry more creative in whatever they do.

Kyoorius received over 3600 entries from over 280 entrants to the awards this year, the highest ever in history. Only 1060 entries made it to the first list after the first round of online judging.

The eleventh edition of the awards will also be remembered for the GiveBack initiative. For every entry that did not make it into the First List (i.e. beyond the first round of judging) at the 2024 Kyoorius Creative Awards, Kyoorius is giving back 50 per cent of the entry fee to the entrant.

Post the in-person jury session, 282 entries emerged as winners of the baby elephant (in-book winners). Out of these 282 baby elephant winners, 89 entries were awarded blue elephants across disciplines. Seven entries were awarded purple elephants as part of the Zee Equality Awards.

Awards by Kyoorius do not follow a hierarchical structure – there are no golds, silvers or bronze medals. Instead, only the work that deserves recognition wins an elephant.

“My heartfelt congratulations to all the winners this year. GiveBack was not just a campaign idea for us – it was a way to recognise the pain points when it comes to award shows. We’ve already started the process and entrants are receiving their GiveBack money. We took this initiative to make the Kyoorius Creative Awards more accessible to smaller agencies and have recorded the highest number of entries this year. While there was no black elephant winner this year, we have two baby black elephant winners to celebrate,” said Kyoorius founder and CEO Rajesh Kejriwal.

“I am pleased to recognise and applaud the immense creative potential of the industry, and further encourage innovation by extending our support to the Kyoorius Creative Awards year on year. At ZEE, we are humbled to play a small role in nurturing the creative quotient through the ‘GiveBack’ initiative, and we stay committed towards supporting the advertising fraternity and celebrating memorable brands and campaigns. I would like to extend my heartiest congratulations to all the participants, wishing them continued success and an abundant creative spirit to create more such enthralling campaigns in the future.” ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd MD & CEO Punit Goenka.

All the winning work can be seen at kca.kyoorius.com.

Besides various tweaks to the existing and popular award disciplines and categories, the eleventh edition of the Kyoorius Creative Awards also introduced new specialist awards for health and pharma, regional advertising and creativity In PR.

Blue elephants recognise work that sets new benchmarks for the industry, and is truly outstanding, while baby elephants recognize disruptive, showcase worthy work. Black elephants are reserved for work that represents the best of show, work that takes risks, creates new conversations and has a lasting impact on the industry.

Purple elephants are awarded to winners of the ZEE Equality Award presented by Indian Creative Women. These awards recognise and celebrate work that has addressed and impacted gender inequality in India through innovative thinking. The colour ‘purple’ signifies justice, dignity and has been historically associated with efforts to achieve gender equality.

The Kyoorius Creative Awards 2024 was presented by ZEE, with luxury experience partner Glenmorangie and is supported by Indian Creative Women. The venue was the Jio World Convention Center, Mumbai.

  • Mother Dairy celebrates ‘Maa Jaisi Mamta’ in latest campaign

Mother Dairy celebrates ‘Maa Jaisi Mamta’ in latest campaign

Mumbai: Celebrating the universal values of love, care, emotion and compassion embodied by mothers, India’s leading dairy brand Mother Dairy is all set to roll out its brand anthem and campaign in its latest communication headlined under “Mamta Jaisi Shudh, Maa Jaisi Mamta” Mother Dairy, Maa Jaisi.

Penned by eminent poet Gulzar, the anthem beautifully describes the virtues of a mother which all of us inherit and exemplify in varied situations and circumstances. These virtues represent not just the emotions but also showcase that there is a mother in all of us.

The campaign narrative explores instances where maternal virtues are demonstrated outside traditional mother-child relationships. These relationships within families, friends, colleagues and even with the unknowns supporting each other showcases the myriad ways in which these values enrich lives and strengthen bonds.

“In a world where compassion and empathy are more vital than ever, Mother Dairy recognizes the enduring significance of maternal values,” said  Mother Dairy MD Manish Bandlish. “As we commemorate our 50 years of establishment, our new campaign aims to celebrate these values and inspire individuals to embrace them in their daily lives, fostering stronger connections and a sense of community.” He further added, “At Mother Dairy, we believe in infusing every aspect of our work with the same love and care that a mother provides by ensuring quality ingredients to craft delightful products, our commitment to excellence is rooted in these timeless values and remains steadfast.”

    Campaign thought

A mother often exudes the purest of virtues. But the values of a mother can also be seen in people other than her. Sometimes you can see it in the way an elder brother looks after the young ones. It is in the care a colleague shows towards his teammates. Or even in the concern a teenager shows towards elderly. It is these values of a mother that Mother Dairy endorses. It is the same love and concern that goes into making each of our products.

    The execution

The film begins with a scene set in an office cafeteria, where two colleagues are prepping up for a meal. Just as they’re about to begin, one of them receives an urgent call from their manager. Hastily leaving his meal behind, he rushes off to attend the meeting. However, his thoughtful colleague insists he takes a roll of a Chapati with Paneer along. In another scene, two senior citizens share a fond moment. One of them, being fed by a nurse, seems disinterested in the meal. The other encourages and motivates him to have the food if he wants to satiate his desire for Mother Dairy’s Mishti Doi.

Similar scenarios unfold throughout the film, involving a couple, a group of friends, a child and a fellow passenger, and two students getting ready for school in their hostel room all sharing a moment while relishing a Mother Dairy product. Each situation highlights and narrates a stanza on maternal virtue aptly embraced by a captivating background score, ultimately leading to a frame featuring brand’s product window.

Commenting on the campaign, Ogilvy-North chief creative officer Ritu Sharda added, “Every now and then we come across people who take care of us just like a ‘Mother’ would do. They are Maa Jaisi to us. The same is true for Mother Dairy products. They are made with the same love, nurturing, and purity. Qualities taught by mothers. This inspired us to weave this new story for Mother Dairy, an ode to all those who are Maa Jaisi. With ‘Mother’ in our name, this is a beautiful natural fit with everything we stand for.”

  • St Jude India ChildCare Centres & Ogilvy Mumbai illuminate reality through ‘The Impossible Choice’ campaign

St Jude India ChildCare Centres & Ogilvy Mumbai illuminate reality through ‘The Impossible Choice’ campaign

Mumbai: Learning that your child has cancer is heartbreaking, especially for thousands of families in small villages far away from the city. These families lack access to doctors or the necessary treatment to cure cancer.

They flock to major cities so their child can access the best charitable hospitals specialising in cancer treatment. However, once they arrive, as their child’s treatment extends from weeks to months, they often run out of money and are forced to stay on the streets, leaving their child vulnerable to other infections. Unfortunately, many families give up hope and return to their villages, abandoning their child’s treatment.

St Jude’s India ChildCare Centres offer children with cancer and their families a free, safe, and clean place to stay in the city for the duration of their treatment. They provide holistic support and care along with accommodation, creating a ‘home away from home’ environment for families.

With 45 centres across 11 cities in India, they currently house over 500 families every day. But thousands are still left without accommodation.

It’s estimated that 32,000 children will require a place to stay. This overwhelming disparity between the high number of patients and scarcity of accommodation led to the film conceptualized by Ogilvy and produced and directed by Hungry Films. The film aims to raise awareness among the masses and drive donations to address this pressing issue.

The donations go towards building accommodation in every city, so that one day, no child is forced to abandon their cancer treatment because they don’t have a place to live in the city.

“When we got the brief for St. Jude India ChildCare Centres, we decided to avoid guilt-tripping our audience by directly showing children suffering. Instead, we wanted to tell an honest and human story, and that’s how we stumbled upon the idea of “The Impossible Choice.” A heartbreaking dilemma, if ever there was one. A big thanks to Mahesh Gharat from Hungry films for making this heart-melter, and a special shout-out to Ricardo from our team for writing this. We really hope that more people get to know about the fabulous job that the St Jude India team is doing and donate whole-heartedly for this life-saving cause”, explained Executive creative director Fritz Gonsalves and Ogilvy Mumbai group creative director Jayesh Raut.

“It is estimated that every year, over 32,000 families with limited means travel to larger cities for their child’s cancer treatment. Many of them are forced to abandon treatment due to the lack of an affordable place to stay. This is tragic since childhood cancer has a high cure rate, provided treatment is supported by a hygienic environment and proper nutrition. This film by Ogilvy India beautifully highlights the difficulties parents face in finding an affordable place in large cities and metros for their child’s cancer treatment”, said St Jude’s India Childcare Centres CEO Anil Nair.
