    Ogilvy strengthens Mumbai team with 4 new senior hires

    MUMBAI:  After fabulous few months of winning new businesses, Ogilvy Mumbai has appointed four senior creative directors. 

     

    Ogilvy India NCD Abhijit Avasthi said, “In order to bolster our creative strength we have brought in these stars. Each of them has a unique way of thinking which will enrich Ogilvy greatly.”

     

    The four new senior creative directors will be based in Mumbai and report to the senior creative and business heads in Ogilvy Advertising.

     

    Neville Shah, a post graduate from Symbiosis Institute of Mass Communication, completed copywriting at The Creative Circus in Atlanta has been appointed as group CD. His work experience spans over companies like MTV India & MTV Indies, Commonwealth Worldwide, McCann Worldgroup, Creativeland Asia, JWT, Mudra, TBWA, McCann-Erickson, Times of India Group, JAM, 107.1 FM Rainbow and The Company Theatre.  He has worked on Indian and multinational brands such as Chevrolet, Set Max, Standard Chartered Bank, Nissan, Airtel, Philips, ESPN, Star Sports, Bajaj Allianz, Parle Agro, Dabur, ITC and several more.

     

    Syed Mohammed Talha Nazim, who started his career at 19, has spent the first 19 years of his career in Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore and Kuala Lumpur. Having worked in agencies such as Burnett & McCann on prestigious clients like Chevrolet, BMW, Fiat, Petronas, Coca-Cola, Nescafe, Dutch Lady, Aircel, McDonalds, to name some, he chose to return to Mumbai with Ogilvy. 

     

    An IBF graduate from Sir JJ Institute of Applied Art, Mahesh Madhukar Parab, has worked with agencies such as Da’Cunha Communications, Ambience Publicis, McCann Erickson, DDB Mudra and Contract Advertising.  His work experiences spans across Indian and multinational brands such as Amul, Western Union, Siemens, HUL, Marico, Reliance, Yellow Pages, Hanes, Tata Indicom, BPL Mobile, NEO, Star Plus, Edelweiss, Tata Motor International, Asian Paints, Cadbury’s, BATA, Yamaha, Dabur, Wrigley’s, UTI Bank, Kotak Bank, to name a few.

     

    And lastly, Talha Bin Mohsin is a post graduate in Communication after doing his Bachelors in International Business & Finance. Mohsin has worked with agencies such as Contract, DDB Mudra, Leo Burnett & McCann Erickson.  His work experience covers brands such as Coca Cola, National Geographic Channel, Schneider Electric, Philips Lighting, HBO, McDonald’s, Dabur, Godrej, Big Bazaar, Maharashtra Tourism, Parachute, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Barclays Bank, Radio Mirchi, Mediker, Twinings, Wrigley’s (Boomer & Orbit), Yamaha, Bata, Cadbury (Choclairs, Halls), Asian Paints (Tractor, Apcolite), Tata Motors. 

     

    On the new appointments, Ogilvy Mumbai & Kolkata president Navin Talreja said, “New ways of thinking, new kind of work and new ways of adding value is what Ogilvy is known for and what we continuously strive to achieve.     Creative Inc bags two awards for their outfits

    MUMBAI: Creative Inc has recently won the creative mandates of Nova Specialty Surgery (NSS) and Nova Orthopedic and Spine Hospital (NOSH).

    The agency has won the accounts in a multi agency pitch. According to the sources, couple of renowned agencies took participation in the multi agencies pitch. The incumbent agency was Ogilvy India.

    The business size for the both accounts are one crore.

    Talking about the account win, Creative Inc creative director Charu Nathan said, “Today, there is a drastic change in healthcare services. It is obvious that patients have become more informed, and expect the best. They are constantly on the lookout for services that combine experience with expertise.”

    NOSH’s creative mandate includes print, radio, outdoor, onsite, industry-specific and in-clinic communication mediums. The campaign will target cross-section of society for whoever is in need of orthopedic help.

    In 2009, Nova launched the concept of short stay surgery centers in India. Moving to the second phase of expansion, Nova is creating surgical facilities for dedicated specialties.

  • Effies 2012: Ogilvy tops 4th time in a row

    MUMBAI: Racing ahead of competition by a humungous margin of 215 points, Ogilvy and Mather retained its title as Agency of the Year for the fourth consecutive time at the Effie 2012 awards. It also landed with the coveted award, the Grand Effie.

    Ogilvy India‘s final scorecard read: nine gold, 11 silver, three bronze metals and the Grand Effie. Led again by Piyush Pandey, creative director, South Asia, Ogilvy India, the agency totaled 280 points, bettering its last year record of 195 points with seven gold, six silver and six bronze.

    Also retaining its position on the leaderboard, Ogilvy‘s Cadbury India was adjudged the Client of the Year at this year’s awards with 85 points.

    O&M won the Marico Uncommon Sense for its campaign ‘Satyamev Jayate – Managing a Billion Expectations‘ for Star India’s Aamir Khan show on social causes. It also won the Lenovo Tech-Doers Award for ‘The Photographs Case‘ campaign it created for Star India’s Fox Crime.

    The campaign for Satyamev Jayate won in the Services and Integrated Advertising category, while ‘The Photographs Case‘ bagged the honour in the Digital Advertising and Integrated Advertising category. The Undumb India campaign created for The Hindu won in the Services category. The other gold metal winners were: Vodafone India’s ‘Drive Into the Big League‘ campaign (B2B Advertising), Madhya Pradesh Tourism’s ‘How Madhya Pradesh became Incredible in Incredible India‘ campaign (Best On-going Campaign), Asian Paints Apex’s ‘Yeh Badhiya Hai‘ campaign (Best On-going Campaign) and Fevicol’s ‘The Ultimate Bond – 20 Years and Still Going Strong‘ campaign (Best On-going Campaign).

    The agency’s 11 silver Effies came from ‘Have You Felt Silk Lately?‘ for Cadbury India Dairy Milk Silk (Beverages, Drinks, Confectionaries and Food); ‘Tayyari ki Jeet‘ for Bournvita (Beverages, Drinks, Confectionaries and Food); ‘As Aamir Steals Light, Titan Steals a March Over Competition‘ (Consumer Products – Others); ‘Chalta Nahin Daudta Hai‘ for Bajaj Discover (Automobiles, Autoparts, Two Wheelers and Auto related); ‘Aapke Sachce Advisors‘ for Max Life Insurance (Financial Services); ‘Poochne Mein Kya Jaata hai‘ for Tata Sky (Services – Others); ‘The Date Fillum‘ for Cadbury 5 Star (Digital Advertising); ‘Loving ‘em Back‘ for Mumbai Indians (Digital Advertising); ‘The Photographs Case‘ for Fox Crime (David v/s Goliath); ‘Drive into the Big League‘ for Vodafone (Integrated Advertising Campaign); and ‘Seedhi Baat No Bakwaas, Freshology‘ for Sprite (Best On-Going Campaign).

    O&M won bronze Effies for its work on the Cadbury Bournville’s ‘Have You Earned It?‘ campaign (Services and Integrated Advertising); Hindustan Unilever’s ‘Swasthya Chetna‘ campaign (Rural Advertising); and Bosch and Siemens Home Appliances’ ‘Bosch: Genetically German‘ campaign (David v/s Goliath).

    Second spot winner McCann Worldgroup won three Silver and seven Bronze metals with a total of 65 points. It had to go home without a gold. McCann‘s performance this year was far better as it improved upon its previous year‘s ranking of No. 7 with 30 points.

    Lowe Lintas and Partners followed close with 60 points. The agency won three silver and six bronze Effies. Taproot India stood fourth with three gold Effies. Leo Burnett raked in eight bronze metals to stand fifth in the metals tally.

    This year the Effies saw the addition of two categories – Direct Marketing and Digital Advertising. This also was the first year when the entire judging process took place online.

    MUMBAI: Aaren Initiatives has recently roped in Gaurav Chhibber as associate business director- North. Based in Gurgaon, Chhibber will report to Sriram Iyer. Chhibber will be responsible for consolidating the business of Lintas Media Group‘s outdoor arm in North India.
     
    Said Lintas Media Group OOH Media Initiatives president Hemanth Shah, “Gaurav will be part of the leadership team and will drive the overall agenda of the company in the north. He has the expertise required to contribute towards improving our deliverables.”
     
    Earlier, Chibber was assistant vice-president at 141 Wall Street, the out-of-home division of Bates 141.
     
    In his 13 years of experience, Chibber has worked with brands like Madison group and Ogilvy India.
