    Mumbai: In a significant move, ed-tech major Byju’s has become the official sponsor of the Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022. Through this partnership, the company will leverage its rights to the league’s marks, emblem, assets, and run promotions to connect with passionate football fans around the world. It will also create engaging and creative content with educational messages as part of a multifaceted activation plan.

    “Fifa is dedicated to harnessing the power of football towards the goal of enacting positive societal change. We’re delighted to be partnered with a company like Byju’s, which is also engaging communities and empowering young people wherever they may be in the world,” said Fifa’s chief commercial officer Kay Madati. “We look forward to supporting the promotion of Byju’s educational learning opportunities, as well as having them join the global drumbeat of excitement for the Fifa World Cup 2022 through its association with this groundbreaking tournament.”

    The Fifa World Cup Qatar 2022 will take place between 21 November and 18 December.

  • ICC signs GoDaddy as official sponsor for WTC 2021

    New Delhi: GoDaddy on Friday announced its official sponsorship of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Test Championship 2021.

    As part of the partnership, GoDaddy logo and GoDaddy Pro sub-brand logo will be promoted on in-stadia LED panels, along the sides of the boundary line and on the mid-wicket area on-ground. The brand aims to drive conversations and encourage digital adoption in today’s new normal world by engaging with tournament viewers and cricket enthusiasts through the sport

    The announcement is a continuation of GoDaddy’s association with the ICC, starting with the Men’s Cricket World Cup.

    ICC chief commercial officer, Anurag Dahiya said, “We are excited to renew our partnership with GoDaddy and delighted to see them support the inaugural WTC Final.”

    GoDaddy India, managing director and vice president, Nikhil Arora said, “The ICC World Test Championship is the first international tournament where team India will play since the COVID outbreak.     MUMBAI: Linc Pen & Plastics has tied up as an official team sponsor of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the current season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). As part of the partnership, Linc Pens will have a presence on the leading side of the cap/helmet of the players of Sunrisers Hyderabad.

     

    Through this strategic initiative, Linc hopes to strengthen its foothold in the Southern market of India. Sunrisers Hyderabad, being a relatively new team, gives Linc Pens the perfect platform to enhance its brand image.

     

    As part of this association, Linc has planned promotional activities nationally across print, electronic and digital media platforms. The two partners will also hold contests for consumers, retailers, distributors and wholesalers, wherein lucky winners will get a chance to interact with players or win autographed merchandise and match passes.

     

    Consumers can participate online through Facebook and Twitter, while on-ground campaigns would be unveiled in the Vizag and Hyderabad stadiums during the days of the SRH matches.

  • Visa official sponsor for ICC World Cup, Champions Trophy

    MUMBAI: Credit card major Visa International has been awarded the regional official sponsorship rights for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in India in October 2006 and the ICC Cricket World Cup to be held in West Indies in March-April 2007.
     
     
    As regional official sponsor, Visa International will receive on-ground sponsorship benefits in the South Asia region including category exclusivity, branding and signage, tickets and hospitality, special events and programs, broadcast and media related benefits and other rights, benefits and protections.

    For this territory, Visa becomes the second after Indian Oil to get (by virtue of the oil major’s deal covering all broadcast territories globally) official sponsorship status. According to sources close to the developments, two more official sponsors are expected to be signed on for the south Asia region, which will take the number of official sponsors up to four.

    Before this deal, ICC had four official global partners in LG, Pepsi, Hutch and Hero Honda and two official sponsors Indian Oil and Cable & Wireless.

    The sponsorship deal with Visa was negotiated by Nimbus Sport, acting as worldwide exclusive marketing agency for Global Cricket Corporation (GCC), the commercial partner of the International Cricket Council (ICC).
     
    Visa International Asia Pacific EVP Marketing Rajiv Kapoor said that the company would be rolling out a series of campaigns, promotions and supporting marketing activities to make use of the occasion.

    “We plan to make the most of our sponsorship as our principal marketing platform for the next year, as we believe it will deliver incomparable exposure for the Visa products and services in the region. Visa is committed to this sponsorship and we are ,” Kapoor said.
     
    ICC president Ehsan Mani said, “Cricket’s ability to attract a world-renowned brand such as Visa to become an official sponsor is a demonstration of the game’s robust health and its global appeal. This agreement is excellent news for all concerned and we look forward to a long and mutually beneficial association with Visa.”
    GCC MD Ian Frykberg said, “We are delighted to welcome Visa to the family and have them add the ICC Cricket World Cup 2007 to its impressive list of major sports sponsorships.”

    Nimbus Sport CEO Digvijay Singh said, “This is the first time that a major payment card has been an ICC cricket sponsor and Nimbus is proud to have played a key role in securing this path-breaking new sponsorship”.

    Adds Visa International country manager Santanu Mukherjee, “We believe this is a great opportunity for Visa to enhance the visibility of our brand and cut across borders and boundaries. Visa has nearly 40 million cardholders in South Asia and we plan to reach out to them in unique ways to build on their passion for the game over the coming months.”
