    Foot Locker to make its India debut

    Mumbai: Foot Locker, a prominent name in sneaker culture, will inaugurate its omnichannel launch in India on 19 October, with Metro Brands operating physical stores and Nykaa Fashion managing the e-commerce business.

    The first store, located at Select City Walk, will feature Foot Locker’s Reimagined concept, offering an innovative retail experience for consumers and sneaker enthusiasts.

    Alongside the physical store launch, Nykaa Fashion will provide an online shopping experience that mirrors the excitement of the in-store journey through its Foot Locker website and Shop-in-Shop on the Nykaa Fashion and Nykaa Man platforms. This digital platform aims to deliver a superior online shopping experience with a focus on convenience and personalisation.

    Foot Locker India will connect youth, culture, and passion-driven communities. The brand ambassadors, known as Stripers, will be category experts who enhance the shopping experience and lead community programs.

    Customer-centric initiatives, such as India’s FLX(TRA) Rewards Program, will be part of the brand experience. Metro Brands and Nykaa Fashion will provide access to top sneaker and apparel brands, including Nike, Jordan Brand, adidas, PUMA, New Balance, FILA, Asics, New Era, and more. Customers can also personalise their sneakers at the Sneaker Hub and protect their footwear with sneaker care brands like Crep.

    Samantha Prabhu’s Saaki eyes a growth of 80% revenue in the next 6 months

    Mumbai: Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Sushruthi Krishna’s D2C ethnic wear brand Saaki aims to scale its revenues by 80 per cent in the next six months on the back of a growth strategy that includes category expansion and improving brand visibility through a consumer-centric approach.

    The brand, which will generate two-digit crores in revenue this fiscal year, sees its customers as the primary drivers of its growth.Since its launch in 2020, it has always taken its customers’ feedback and suggestions seriously. This consumer-centric approach has enabled the brand to grow exponentially in the last two years, with 70 per cent of business generated organically from its much-loved community.

    40-50 per cent of the brand’s sales are driven from metro and tier I cities, while the remaining are from tier II and III cities, where the adoption of online shopping is happening at an accelerated pace. Saaki entered the international market in 2021 and currently ships to 15 countries, including the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. With 25 per cent of the total revenue generated from international business, Saaki is on the road to strengthening their presence in the global market.

    The brand will soon expand into yoga wear and home categories. Saaki is rapidly expanding its distribution channels and plans to become a Rs 150 to Rs 200 crore brand in the next three years.

    Speaking about the future growth plans, Saaki co-founder Krishna said, “Saaki is totally built on consumer love and confidence, and we hope to reach the 100 crore club soon with their support. Our current focus is to expand our product line and ramp up our digital and social media presence. We aim to invest in customer-centricity to allow for optimal journey mapping, repeat business, and loyalty interventions.”

    Nykaa Fashion expands its activewear portfolio by acquiring Kica

    Mumbai: In a bid to strengthen its activewear portfolio, Nykaa Fashion, the multi-brand lifestyle e-commerce platform has announced the acquisition of the Indian activewear brand Kica.

    Founded by Aneesha Labroo in 2017, Kica was born out of the need to bridge the gap between stylish, high-quality products at an affordable price. “Having launched Nykd All Day last year, Nykaa Fashion now adds Kica to its portfolio, offering the growing active-wear community of athletes and everyday fitness seekers greater variety and curation in this category,” said the statement.

    “We welcome Kica into the Nykaa Fashion family to serve the growing demand for high-quality, fashionable, and functional activewear. With a strong vision to empower women to lead an active lifestyle, Kica is a brand that brings equal passion to product and community both,” said Nykaa co-founder and Nykaa Fashion CEO Adwaita Nayar. “We are excited to scale this brand further, alongside the dynamic and passionate entrepreneur, Aneesha.”

    Dhatri Bhatt named VP marketing and communications at Nykaa Fashion

    MUMBAI: Dhatri Bhatt has been appointed as the vice president, marketing and communications at Nykaa Fashion. Prior to joining Nykaa, Bhatt was associated with LVMH’s House of Christian Dior as the marketing and communications manager.

    Previously, Bhatt was head, communications at H&M. She was also the spokesperson for the brand in India and responsible for leading, planning and organising internal and external communications and press activities in collaboration with the global H&M Communications team.

    Bhatt carries an experience of over 18 years in brand management, media relations, retail strategy, and influencer collaborations and event management.

    A retail specialist with experience in managing international fashion and lifestyle brands across all aspects of the business, she has dealt with in-depth brand launches, PnL management, retail operations, e-commerce, buying and merchandising, marketing, communications and PR among others.
