Ashok Namboodiri joins Revsportz as consulting editor to help supercharge global play

MUMBAI:  Ashok Namboodiri, who until recently led Zee’s international business, has joined Revsportz Global as consulting editor, the fast-growing sports media company confirmed today.

The announcement was made by Boria Majumdar, founder &  editor in chief of Revsportz, who called Namboodiri “a very strong intellectual” and a long-time friend.

The two had kept in touch since Namboodiri’s tenure leading Zee’s international business from Dubai, and their recent meetings have sparked what Majumdar describes as a “smooth and natural” collaboration.

Namboodiri’s resume reads like a media executive’s dream deck. From leading P&Ls at Zee Entertainment, Star India, and Raymond’s FMCG arm, to heading beverage verticals at Britannia and Tata PepsiCo JV NourishCo, he’s run the numbers and the narratives. Now, he steps into a more editorial and strategic role—ready to launch his own show, write regularly, and push Revsportz’s global game.

“Over the next few weeks, you’ll hear a lot more from Ashok,” Majumdar teased, adding that the move signals ambitious international expansion for Revsportz.

Namboodiri will contribute to the editorial voice, business direction and platform innovation at Revsportz—making it clear that the brand is playing to win, both on home turf and abroad.

Revsportz just drew a powerful card in the media game. The duel for sports eyeballs is on.

  • MyCollegeFest makes more than 100 colleges take the energy dash for Tata Gluco Plus

MyCollegeFest makes more than 100 colleges take the energy dash for Tata Gluco Plus

Mumbai: New age digital media-tech company Graphene Media has been recently mandated to execute a first of its kind activation for NourishCo’s Tata Gluco Plus (TGP) in more than a 100 colleges in Tamil Nadu & Karnataka during the next three months.

In order to build an active engagement for its launch in Tamil Nadu & Karnataka, MyCollegeFest a venture by Graphene Media, conceptualized a clutter breaking activation for NourishCo which involves students participating in a physically exhausting game thereby showing the importance of staying hydrated.

Using latest motion controlled gaming and Kinnect technology, MyCollegeFest created a virtual scenario where a student has to control his avatar by physically running, dodging obstacles and collecting energy by grabbing TGP packs. Every obstacle reduces their score and every TGP pack gives them more points to run further. The game ends with the participants reaching out for a real drink to replenish their energy after participating in this activity.

Speaking on how well this activation has been received at this stage, Mr. Sanjoy Chakrabarty, CEO and Founder of Graphene media says, “Innovation is one of the best ways to create top of mind recall especially amongst youth. MyCollegeFest, being the only platform for aggregating college fest from across India, effectively maximizes visibility and engagement for a brand through college festivals. While this activation for Tata Gluco Plus is a first of its kind from an innovation perspective, it can also talk about scalability as it covers almost a 100 colleges across the southern part of India. We look forward to taking up such challenges and enhancing engagement with many more such unique ideas.”

With an inventory of over 2500 college fests across 300+ cities in India, MyCollegeFest has been innovating on student engagement with brands. NourishCo’s Tata Water Plus tells people to drink health

MUMBAI: NourishCo, a 50:50 joint venture between Tata and PepsiCo, is promoting healthier lifestyle to its consumers with the launch of bottled-water Tata Water Plus in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

The campaign Ab Pyaas Bhujao Health se is a TVC supported by a host of marketing initiatives enunciating the promise of Tata Water Plus. The creative agency on board for the TVC was Taproot-Dentsu Marcom and the media planning for the campaign has been done by Mindshare

To promote the product, the brand has launched an on-ground initiative in the two cities. A special health zone has been created at Inorbit Mall in Hyderabad and City Centre in Chennai. The mall activation focuses on highlighting the need for a healthy drinking water. Other mediums of promotion used are outdoor, radio and print medium.

NourishCo VP and head-marketing and innovation Arvind Shukla said, “Tata Water Plus is more than just drinking water. It is enhanced with the goodness of copper and zinc. We thought positioning the product as a ‘drink health‘ works better for the brand. Reiterating the thought, our campaign ‘Ab Pyaas Bhujao health Se‘ is a great proposition for consumers and educates them about the opportunity that thirst offers to enhance health. Through an exciting TVC and robust outdoor, radio, on-ground and online initiatives, we hope to engage consumers and educate them about the health benefits that Tata Water Plus offers.”

Taproot-Dentsu Marcom executive creative director Agnello Dias said, “The creative route that we have taken for Tata Water Plus is very simple – Don‘t waste your thirst! Treat it as an opportunity to get healthy. Personification of Mr Thirst makes people think before drinking water and subtly educates them about the benefits of nutrients like copper and zinc. It is a unique concept and clearly communicates the thought of the campaign; Ab Pyaas bhujao Health se. We are positive that the consumers in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu will enjoy the campaign.”
