    Moving Picture renews contract for Zoom’s ‘Popkorn’

    MUMBAI: Moving Picture Company has renewed its contract with Bennett Coleman group for one more year for the production of the entertainment news show Popkorn.

    The show Popkorn airs on the lifestyle and entertainment television channel Zoom.

    The contract covers 260 episodes of Popkorn to be telecast five days a week and 52 episodes of Weekend Special of the programme to be telecast weekly.

    The contract has been valued at approximately Rs 60 million through this renewed contract, according to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

    The company had also recently signed a contract with Sahara’s Filmy, the movie channel for producing a show Chala Lallan Hero Ban-ne. It will be producing 52 episodes of Chala Lallan Hero Ban-ne, a half an hour weekly programme.

    Also, Moving Picture Company had signed an agreement with NL Films of the Netherlands to facilitate co-production of a Dutch feature film Zoop in India.

    Moving Picture signs co-production agreement of Dutch film

    MUMBAI: Moving Picture Company India Ltd has has signed an agreement with NL Films, Netherlands for producing a Dutch feature film titled Zoop in India.

    The total outlay of production in India would be approximately Rs 28 million.

    Zoop is a popular Dutch TV-series for youngsters (aged 6 to 14). The third season is shown on TV and last summer the first Zoop feature film, Zoop in Africa, played in the national theatres. Keeping in mind the success of the film, NL Film Productions has decided to make a sequel: Zoop in India.

    The company has obtained necessary shoot permissions from the ministry of information and broadcasting and a permission from the ministry of environment is awaited for the same. The film is expected to be shot during February to March in Maharashtra and Kerala.

    Moving Picture has recently produced corporate films for IFFCO, IFFDC, Satyam Computers and Nestle. The corporate film produced for IFFCO has won the first prize for the best corporate film in public relations national awards at international PR Festival.
