Adani Wilmar’s CSR film celebrates SuPoshan Sanginis’ role in fighting malnutrition & anaemia

Mumbai: On International Women’s Day, Adani Wilmar Ltd (AWL), one of India’s largest food FMCG companies has launched a new CSR short film celebrating the invaluable contributions of SuPoshan Sanginis in eradicating malnutrition and anaemia amongst its target groups- children (0-5 years), adolescent and women in reproductive age. These women volunteers are an integral part of Fortune SuPoshan Project, a pioneering initiative of Adani Wilmar and implemented by Adani Foundation, the CSR arm of Adani Group to combat malnutrition and anaemia in India.

SuPoshan Sanginis empowers their communities and are making their voices heard. Their dedication shows how individuals can spark positive change and inspire others to join in, creating a culture of teamwork and inclusivity. At the grassroots, they’re pivotal in breaking the intergenerational cycle of malnutrition. At the same time, these Sanginis also act as beacons of women’s empowerment in their communities.

The newly launched CSR short film, which is airing today, depicts a Sangini visiting a family, diligently checking on their son’s health and ensuring that he receives proper nutrition to thrive. This narrative highlights the transformative role of Sanginis in rural India, showcasing their endeavours to uplift the lives of undernourished children, impart hygiene practices, and educate families on the significance of nutritious foods such as leafy vegetables, millets, legumes, and fruits. Through their unwavering dedication, these women volunteers are not only nurturing the physical growth of future generations but also spearheading positive change within their communities. The four-min CSR short film, which has been directed by the filmmaker Tiyash Sen and conceptualised by DDB Mudra group, will be extended across platforms like Meta & YouTube for maximum visibility.

Commenting on the newly launched CSR short film, Adani Wilmar Ltd MD & CEO Angshu Mallick said, “The Fortune SuPoshan project holds a special place in our hearts, and we take pride in the progress it has made towards eradicating malnutrition and anaemia since its inception. Given that malnutrition is closely linked to food and nutrition, there is no better organisation than us to address it, considering Adani Wilmar’s status as the largest food company in the country. It, therefore, becomes our responsibility to actively work towards this cause. Our SuPoshan Sanginis have played a pivotal role in achieving these objectives, working tirelessly at the grassroots level. The CSR short film serves as a testament to the extraordinary dedication of Sanginis and their unwavering commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of their communities. Their passion and efforts have been instrumental in breaking the worrying issue of intergenerational cycle of malnutrition, and we are proud to honour their contributions on International Women’s Day.”

DDB Mudra creative head Nitin Pradhan said, “Through the metaphor of the chalk drawings on the wall that capture the world through the confines of his house window, the intent was to visually show the journey of a malnourished kid who recovers gradually, with the passage of time. The Suposhan Sangini is instrumental in this recovery in a variety of ways, bringing to our attention her role in helping us get rid of malnourishment as a widespread malaise.”

Initiated in 2016, the Fortune SuPoshan Project has witnessed a resounding success in enhancing the health and nutritional status of its target groups in vulnerable communities. The project’s unique approach involves active engagement with stakeholders, including gram panchayats, local governing bodies, healthcare facilities, and frontline health workers. The training and deployment of SuPoshan Sanginis, who’ve been picked up from the villages that are a part of the project, played a vital role in implementing interventions and driving behavioural changes at the grassroots level.

Lauding the part played by SuPoshan Sanginis in making the project a success, Adani Foundation chairperson Dr Priti Adani added, “I have consistently maintained that the Sanginis have played a significant role in the success of Fortune SuPoshan. The film tribute on International Women’s Day is well-timed and commendable. Their work deserves recognition, particularly their remarkable achievement in breaking the intergenerational cycle of malnutrition.”

Empowered with comprehensive knowledge of nutrition and the use of technology like tablets, the SuPoshan Sanginis have conducted interventions, utilising cooking demonstrations to focussed group discussions and individual discussions, to spread awareness about health and nutrition as well as government policies and benefits. They act as bridges between communities as well as serve as a connecting factor with the aanganwadis.

Since its inception in 2016, the Fortune SuPoshan Project has spread its network across 31 sites in the country including some of the aspirational districts like Vidisha(MP) & Narmada(Gujarat), reaching over 4,04,261 lakh households through 1000+ Sanginis across 1940 villages and slums. The proactive approach of Sanginis have resulted in around 90,000 children being saved from malnutrition. More than 3 lakh adolescent girls and women in reproductive age have also benefitted from the project’s intervention through the women volunteers.

The endline evaluation by a New Delhi-based research institute, recently disclosed the impactful interventions of the Fortune SuPoshan Project in addressing malnutrition among children under five across six sites. Despite India ranking 107 out of 121 countries in the Global Hunger Index 2022, the evaluation showcased the project’s effectiveness in combating malnutrition, which is especially critical given India’s high global child wasting rate.

Apart from child nutrition, the project also addresses maternal health, infant and child feeding practices, adolescent knowledge and Water Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) practices. Positive outcomes include increased Antenatal Care (ANC) check-ups, iron folic acid consumption, institutional births, early breastfeeding initiation, and improved dietary diversity among beneficiaries.

Cremica Golden Bytes launches first campaign in India

MUMBAI: Cremica, a cookie brand from Mrs Bectors Foods Specialities Limited, recently launched Cremica Golden Bytes. Golden Bytes offers a combination of crunch and butter softness. Cremica has rolled out a brand film that portrays the brand as an innovative offering compared to other brands in the category.

The TVC will be aired across regional channels especially in North India while the print and outdoor plan will also be focused primarily towards the markets of Punjab, Haryana, HP-JK, and Delhi.

Conceptualised and executed by Publicis India, the film is an intelligent take that questions the consumer’s judgement abilities based on what they see. This is especially true for the premium cookie category, where brands talk about being a class apart but do not have anything new to offer. This leads consumers to believe that despite brands making tall claims to offer something unique, do they really end up doing that? Cremica Golden Bytes questions this intent in an interesting manner through the latest brand film.

Mrs Bectors Foods Specialities MD Anoop Bector says , “In our communication we have kept the focus on the core of biscuit – a perfect combination of crunch and butter softness making it “Jitna buttery utna crunchy’. With its brilliant taste, creative packaging and competitive pricing; Golden Bytes will surely entice your senses.”

Publicis India head of creative Nitin Pradhan says, “For a new biscuit brand where product differentiation is only incremental, the communication becomes that much more critical. We found merit in keeping the focus of the story on the biscuit and bumped on the talking biscuit device. A couple coming across a ‘touchy’ biscuit that snaps at them in an otherwise regular afternoon was something that we all felt excited about. The casual banter capturing the core feature (Jitna buttery, utna crunchy) seemed quite cheeky, yet simple and focused.”

  • JWT weaves in love and sharing for Nestle

JWT weaves in love and sharing for Nestle

MUMBAI: JWT has conceptulaised the new campaign for Nestlé Alpino with the idea of ‘to love is to share.’

The campaign is another step to build Nestlé’s premium confectionery portfolio.

Discussing the creative thought behind the Alpino, JWT executive creative director Nitin Pradhan said: “The fundamental task was to launch Alpino with a communication platform that was unique to the product. We figured that ‘Sharing‘ in a product like this was intrinsic and hence ownable as an idea. However one had to be careful about sharing not becoming a preachy or a mushy cliché while talking to couples (across age groups) and that it gets introduced in a fresh way. So, we kept the films light-hearted yet real, on the everyday wisdom of sharing and how ALPINO is ‘the best thing to share‘. It helped us make communication that‘s sticky for couples of all ages and get an engaging creative platform for the brand.”

The campaign is live on TV with a heavy media plans. The TVCs are also being screened on YouTube, and was promoted on the Facebook Logout page.

  • Nestle India rolls out a new campaign featuring Virat Kohli and Balakrishna Vaali

Nestle India rolls out a new campaign featuring Virat Kohli and Balakrishna Vaali

MUMBAI: The first campaign with Virat Kohli amplified the crunchy experience of Munch and was unique. It featured Vaali as a commoner with no special talents, a boring life and he loves crunching on Munch. His moments of excitement and fame are only because of the big ‘Crunch of the Nestle` Munch. The new campaign that has just been launched continues to reinforce the proposition of ‘Mera Crunch Mahaan‘. It revolves around the explosive crunch that triggers excitement through a fresh treatment.

The commercial opens with Virat Kohli who is in an elevator with his manager. Kohli clearly loves eating Munch but just as he is about to bite into the chocolate in his hand there is an explosive sound of a ‘crunch‘. Virat and his manager both turn towards the source of this sound and find Balakrishnan Vaali, ‘crunching‘ his Munch totally oblivious to the presence of the other two. The manager notices the ‘strangest of coincidences‘ and points out the similarity between Vaali and Kohli that they not only look the same but they both like crunching on Munch and says, “Aap dono toh same to same…Munch kha rahe ho sir !” to which Kohli cannot agree more.

JWT India, ECD Nitin Pradhan says, “The excitement of the moment comes from the crunch that makes viewers, Virat and his manager realise the ‘strange coincidence‘. It was a more refreshing way for us to show the actual celebrity in all his glory along with the lookalike character. The interaction is not a typical fan-meets-celebrity piece which is what makes it a more interesting watch. In fact, Vaali doesn‘t even notice Virat in the spot. Over here, the product still remains the focus of the message, being the subject of the ‘interaction‘. The love for the ‘Crunchiest Ever Munch‘ leads to another exciting moment. Which was the point of our communication.”

Nestlé India head corporate communications Himanshu Manglik said, “The quality of the crunch is a key differentiator of a wafer chocolate and over the years, the tag line for Munch – ‘Mera Crunch Mahaan‘ has become strongly entrenched in the minds of the consumers. Earlier this year, we renovated the portfolio making it crunchier and launched the product – Munch 4X4 made from four rich layers of wafer and chocolate layer. We felt that as a successful cricketer and a youth icon Virat Kohli would enable us to build on this ‘crunchier‘ personality of Munch.”

On the challenges faced while executing the TVC campaign Pradhan added, “The basic creative challenge was to use Virat Kohli and the character of Balakrishnan Vaali (also him) in a fresh and engaging way together, while keeping the product message central. While shooting, the main challenge was getting the implicit humor of the plot in the performances without letting it go overboard. The idea is to engage people, especially youngsters with a fresh kind of humor which involves a popular celebrity. Sports celebrities aren‘t seen that often creating humor on screen. So, that is sure to create some impact. “

“A manager spots his celebrity‘s lookalike in a lift. He seems to be awestruck by the ‘coincidence‘ but the moment he speaks, it gets revealed that he was noticing the (common) brand of chocolate they were consuming and not their faces. Also, the intent was to not be too in-your-face with the humor, yet creating some recall.” Pradhan concludes.

The new campaign is live on television with a heavy media plan. The TVC has gathered close to 300,000 views on YouTube and has integrated in other digital vehicles like Facebook and Twitter. The promotional plan would be supported by mobile promotions and radio.
