    ZEE’s MD & CEO streamlines the company’s technology and data vertical

    Mumbai: ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEE), has announced the strategic changes in the technology and data vertical, implemented by its MD & CEO, Punit Goenka, under the guidance of the company’s board. The MD & CEO has accepted the resignation of Nitin Mittal.

    Amrit Thomas, responsible for data science, Kishore Krishnamurthy, responsible for engineering, Bhushan Kolleri, responsible for product and Vishal Somani, responsible for enterprise and content technology; on an interim basis, will report into president – digital businesses & platforms Amit Goenka.

    Under the guidance of the board and in line with the strategic approach undertaken by the MD & CEO, significant steps are being implemented to build a new lateral structure that lays a sharper emphasis on accountability and results.

    The steps taken by the MD & CEO are aimed towards achieving a cost-effective structure, optimising the resources, and maintaining a sharp focus on quality, enabling continued success for the long-term growth of the company.

    Mumbai: Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEE), India’s leading entertainment powerhouse today announced its partnership with nasscom for its recently-launched  Generative AI Foundry programme, that aims to foster innovation and growth in the start-up ecosystem.  Through the strategic partnership, ZEE’s Technology and Innovation Centre will primarily focus on enabling and supporting co-piloted generative AI solutions for India’s media and entertainment ecosystem.  

    In a collaborative effort, nasscom and ZEE’s Technology and Innovation Centre organised a one-day workshop to identify areas of mutual interest and explore synergies for potential partnerships. As part of the workshop, ZEE hosted 14 startups from the nasscom Generative AI Foundry programme at the ZEE  Technology & Innovation Hub in Bengaluru. With this one-of-its-kind initiative, the company aims to  foster collaborative growth and empower the select start-ups to succeed in the dynamic AI landscape.

    Nasscom’s Generative AI Foundry programme is aimed at nurturing technology startups in the AI domain to elevate India’s standing in the global Generative AI startup landscape. In a significant stride towards this mission, the programme, in collaboration with over 30 industry organizations and investors, selected  26 promising startups last month. These startups will receive comprehensive support, including mentorship, access to resources, funding, and industry connections, to propel their products to the next level.

    As ZEE joins forces with nasscom, the program is set to chart new frontiers and foster a collaborative environment that stimulates creativity and drives technological advancements. With a presence in over 190 countries offering quality content across multiple platforms and languages, reaching over 1.3 billion viewers, the benefits of the collaboration are set to have a significant influence on the M&E ecosystem in  India and beyond.

    Mumbai: Media & entertainment powerhouse Zee Entertainment Enterprises on Wednesday conducted its first-ever induction in a metaverse environment by welcoming 100+ campus graduates from top tech institutes across the nation; at its Technology and Innovation Centre in Bengaluru. The company’s Technology & Innovation Centre is focused on building the metaverse platform by leveraging augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and relevant data models for its digital platforms.

    The initiative was led by ZEE president – digital businesses and platforms Amit Goenka and ZEE president – technology & data Nitin Mittal, addressing the fresh batch of recruits. The metaverse induction was conducted by leveraging the Technology and Innovation Centre’s state of the art infrastructure and cutting-edge technology solutions: thereby offering an immersive mixed reality experience to the fresh recruits.

    ZEE ropes in Nitin Mittal as president – technology & data

    Mumbai: Leading media conglomerate Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEE) on Tuesday appointed Nitin Mittal as president – technology & data.

    Prior to joining ZEE, Mittal was the founder CEO & board member for SOLV, a company focused on creating an open platform for B2B commerce, credit, payment, logistics and skilled workforce for the SME segment in India. At Zee, he will lead strategic initiatives in Tech, Data, Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML) and Digital across the company to support the ZEE 4.0 transformation, said the company on Tuesday.

    The announcement is part of the media conglomerate’s strategic plans to support its digital pivot, drive exponential growth across digital platforms and fortify the broader transformation it has embarked on, in line with the ZEE 4.0 approach.

    “We have taken concerted efforts and reworked our digital strategy in order to build robust digital assets to enhance the user experience. We are taking concrete steps to further upgrade our technological capabilities, and I am sure with Nitin’s expertise, we will enhance the value proposition of our digital products to create consumer delight,” said ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd, MD & CEO, Punit Goenka.

    The transformation process aims at creating a digitally adept, data first company that will be a leader, in all formats of content consumption, both linear and digital, across India and key international markets.

    Mittal will also lead the engineering team and work closely with president – digital businesses & platforms, Amit Goenka to enhance the customer experience across ZEE5 and support the growth plans of the OTT Platform in India and across the world.

    Mittal has two decades of experience, during which he has worked with National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) to build the Unified Payments Interface (UPI) framework for the country and with the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on reframing the Aadhar platform to drive the exponential growth of its coverage in India. He was also associated with Standard Chartered, IBM, TESCO, BNY Mellon, Wipro and the Future Group in the past.
