    Draftfcb+Ulka and Mumbai traffic police launch a book

    MUMBAI: Draftfcb+Ulka in association with Mumbai traffic police has launched the book ‘Drive Safe Mumbai.’ The book is designed by Draftfcb+Ulka and mirrors its 20 years long association with Mumbai traffic police.

    Talking about the association, Draftfcb+Ulka chief operating officer Nitin Karkare said, “We at Draftfcb+Ulka are proud to be working with the Mumbai police on the road safety campaign. We hope that over the past 20 years we have contributed in a small way towards making our roads safe.”

    The book ‘Drive Safe Mumbai’ features some of the best and most impactful billboard ads designed by Draftfcb+Ulka on road safety. Commissioner of police Dr Satyapal Singh said, “A picture is worth a thousand words’-nobody really can deny this fact after having just a glimpse at it. These messages have not only covered various current social and traffic related issues but also touched the hearts of many Mumbaities and played a major role in creating awareness especially against ‘Drunken Driving’.”

    Adding to it, joint commissioner of police, mumbai-traffic Vivek Phansalkar said, “It is a communication piece that people eagerly look forward to and also comment upon. This communication platform represents a consistent, unbroken relationship between the Mumbai traffic police and Draftfcb+Ulka; it is our shared social commitment towards Mumbai and the cause of traffic discipline.”

    The book was launched by Amitabh Bachchan, in the presence of minister Jayant Patil, Javed Akhtar, Dr. Satyapal Singh and Vivek Phansalkar.

    MUMBAI: On the back of some new client wins and growth in existing businesses, Draftfcb+Ulka has brought on board trainees from some of the management, communication, art and design schools in the country through their Star One programme.

     

    Elaborating on the programme, Draftfcb+Ulka Mumbai COO Nitin Karkare said” Star One is not just about talent. It is about nurturing a culture and a value system which is unique to this agency. We are delighted that the program is now in its 23rd year and growing from strength to strength.”

     

    The agency Star One is the advertising industry’s most comprehensive entry level training programme. The trainees are put through an intensive two-month training of which the first month is classroom sessions conducted by senior managers from the company.

     

    Draftfcb+Ulka vice president Anita Gokral was a part of the Star One 1995 batch sharing her own experience of Star One programme she said, “Star One guided me into the organisation’s culture, its approach to the business and exigencies of the real world. One could have picked this up on the job but the program gives you space to absorb, appreciate and develop a perspective without getting overbearing. It puts forward the Agency’s confidence and commitment which are critical to managing enthusiasm and morale in the initial years.”

     

    Similarly, Draftfcb+Ulka vice president HR Savita Mathai said, “The fact that this programme has been running consistently for 23 years now is testimony to the Agency’s commitment to growing and nurturing talent.     MUMBAI: Draftfcb+ Ulka has created a new campaign for Amulya, a dairy whitener from the house of Amul with an aim to rejuvenate the brand connect with the customers.

    Through the campaign the brand wants to reinforce Amulya’s product superiority in the market.

    Draftfcb+ Ulka group creative director Haresh Moorjani came up with the thought of ‘making mornings special’. The TVC shows a couple pampering each other over morning breakfast. But the taste of tea makes them forget the mutual love momentarily. The TVC will be supported by print campaign in key regional markets.

    “The contemporary version of Amulya will surely occupy customer’s mind space. This will augment brand salience” said Draftfcb+ Ulka COO Nitin Karkare.

     “Surplus milk supply is a great opportunity to drive sales of Amulya. While doing so, we need to infuse the brand with a young personality. The new TVC does this job well.” emphasises GCMMF managing director R S Sodhi.

    MUMBAI: Draftfcb+Ulka has rolled out a new campaign for Amul’s Mithaimate.

It opens up the viewer’s mind to the endless possibilities that exist with the brand with the option of accessing these recipes at the Amul website. From the all-time favourite Gajar Halwa to the Brazilian Chili Chocolate cake, Amul Mithaimate can truly bring the world to your dessert plate.” said Draftfcb+Ulka Group creative director Haresh Moorjani

     

    Commenting on the advertisement, GCMMF MD RS Sodhi said, “The TVC has a ‘global’ feel and explores delightful opportunities using Amul Mithaimate. It is sure to attract eyeballs.”

    MUMBAI: Menaka Menon joins Draftfcb Ulka as head strategic planning at its Bengaluru office. She has over 13 years experience in advertising and media. Her professional interests include new media, understanding youth consumer and their buying behaviour.

     

    Speaking on her appointment, vice president Dennis Koshy said, “Menaka brings valuable experience across categories to Draftfcb Ulka. Having started her career with us, she is familiar with the organisation and I am sure she will add significant value to our clients here.”

     

    An alumnus of MICA, Menaka started her career at the then FCB Ulka, as part of its Star One programme. She then moved to JWT where she spent over seven years, before moving on to assignments with Big 92.7 FM, UTV New Media and MTV.

     

    uring the course of her career, Menaka has worked on several big brands such as Amul, Knorr, Levi‘s, Kotak, Diageo and Star across Mumbai and Bangalore.

     

    On her second stint at Draftfcb Ulka, Menaka observed, “Draftfcb Ulka is known for the strategic contribution it provides to client businesses. I started my career here and I am really excited about the opportunity to come back. Bangalore office has a very good portfolio of clients and brands, and I look forward to partnering them.”

    Dennis Koshy joins Draftfcb Ulka Bangalore as vice president

    MUMBAI: IPG‘s Draftfcb Ulka has brought on board Dennis Koshy as vice president for its Bangalore office.

    Koshy‘s previous stint was with JWT as vice president and client services director where he was responsible for the agency‘s business across Bangalore and Chennai offices.

    Draftfcb Ulka Bangalore works with prestigious clients like Wipro (Santoor/Chandrika), ITC Foods (Sunfeast/Minto/Candyman) and Paragon.

    Draftfcb Ulka COO Nitin Karkare said, “We welcome Dennis on board and are confident that he will lead the Bangalore office and the client businesses to even greater heights. He has the support of a core senior and stable team, all of whom have worked alongside each other for almost a decade.”

    A post graduate from Mudra Institute of Communication (MICA), Koshy has more than 14 years of account management experience in advertising agencies across Mumbai and Bangalore which involves managing and building brands across categories, building effective and motivated teams, and running highly profitable operations.

    Koshy started off as a senior account executive with Enterprise Nexus Mumbai in 1997 where he worked with clients like American Express Bank, Torrent Pharma and VST. He joined JWT in 2003 as an account director and was promoted to client services director in 2005. In 2006 he was made associate vice president at the agency and in 2008 he was elevated to the post of vice president.
