    M&C Saatchi and Delhi-based February join forces

    MUMBAI: M&C Saatchi Worldwide is strengthening its presence in India through a tie- up with Delhi-based independent creative agency, February. The tie-up sees the launch of a new Indian agency christened M&C Saatchi February with immediate effect.

     

    Offering  advertising, design, digital, social, mobile, events and activation, M&C Saatchi February’s founding portfolio of blue-chip  clients  will  include  Nando’s,  Typhoo,  Avis,  Blossom  Kochhar  Aroma  Magic,  DLF  retail, Ananda in the Himalayas, SBI Cards and Panasonic Mobility.

     

    M&C Saatchi Worldwide CEO Moray MacLennan said, “India is a fundamental part of our global strategy, and we’re delighted to join forces with a brilliant team to help us create a global hub in this critical market.”

     

    The deal follows a strategic review of the agency’s Indian operations and will see M&C Saatchi’s new Indian  agency  –  M&C  Saatchi  February  –  headquartered  in  February’s  offices  in  Delhi’s  Shahpur Jat.

     

    February’s  founders  Gopal  Krishnan  and  Nirmal  Pulickal  will take over  the leadership  of  the combined operation. They will be supported by M&C Saatchi Delhi CEO Anjali Nayar, who has been appointed as the president of the new venture.

     

    MacLennan  added, “In Gopal, Nirmal and the team at February, we have found our perfect partners. They’ve built an agency producing world-class work for both local and international clients.  They share our obsession with ‘Brutal Simplicity of Thought’, and our laser-like focus on building business results for our clients.”

     

    Initially, the  partners  of  February  will  have  a  majority  stake  in  the  venture,  with  M&C  Saatchi Worldwide taking over the majority stake over an agreed timescale.

     

    Krishnan said,  “We’re  delighted  to be  joining  forces  with  M&C Saatchi  as we embark  on the next phase  of February’s  exciting  journey.  We’ve been doing some great work for some wonderful clients over the last couple of years, and this new partnership will help us play on an even bigger stage going forward.”

     

    Pulickal added, “When we launched February two years ago we had a simple goal – to create great work that works for our clients’ business.  It’s great to find a partner in M&C Saatchi who shares our vision entirely. We’re very excited about the future of M&C Saatchi February.”

    February India wins creative duties of Avon Cycles

    MUMBAI: February India, a Delhi based digital, design and advertising agency has won the creative duties of Ludhiana-based bicycle manufacturer Avon Cycles.

    The incumbent agency on the account was a Delhi based Crayons Advertising.

    February India business head and co-founder Gopal Krishnan said, “We did approach Avon cycles and got in touch with them a month back and we demonstrated what we can do for the brand and in terms of what they are today. So, hence we went with the brand and they really loved our idea of including the newer identity, and the newer campaign on which we are working.”

    “We are going to change the identity of the brand and we are also changing the entire game plans for them,” added Krishnan.

    Avon Cycles MD Onkar Singh Pahwa said , “We are going in with an expanded product line and our growing ambition in the fast changing world, we felt there was need for us to adopt stronger brand communication strategies and the present change is a step in that direction.”

    February India was begun last year by Nirmal Pulickal and Gopal Krishnan. February also handles different accounts which include Blossom, Kochhar cosmetics, Ameriprise financial, Canara, HSBC, OBC, Sleepwell, Mother Dairy, The Spice Global, Spice Mobility and Saket City Hospital.

  • DDB Mudra Delhi loses four senior officials

    MUMBAI: Four of DDB Mudra Delhi‘s senior officials have decided to move on.

    DDB Mudra North and East ECD Nirmal Pulickal, VP Gopal Krishnan, VP Gaurav Dudeja and creative director Vandana Katoch have quit.

    The agency has identified the replacements and will announce them soon.

    Pulickal has over 14 years of experience in the industry. He had joined DDB Mudra in September 2010. Prior to DDB Mudra, he had also worked with Wieden+Kennedy Delhi, Y&R Singapore, RMG David Delhi, Ogilvy & Mather Bangalore, McCann-Erickson Bangalore, Contract Advertising, Bangalore and Bates-Clarion Bangalore.

    Krishnan, who joined the agency July 2010, has earlier worked as business head at Rediffusion Y&R, India and general manager at TBWA.

    Dudeja had also joined DDB Mudra in 2010. He had joined the agency from McCann Erickson in July.

    Katoch was brought in by Mudra in June 2010. She had spent 14 years in Contract Advertising, working on brands such as Domino‘s Pizza, Jaypee Group, CRY, Spice Mobiles, Honda, Whirlpool and ESPN.
